Many people were injured in a violent clash between the members of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN), popularly known as Shiite, and the police on Monday. According to the saharareporters, Channels TV journalist was among the casualties as he was shot and rushed to the hospital.

The group clashed with the police at the federal secretariat during a protest to compel the Federal Government to release it’s their leader, Ibraheem El-Zakzaky.

The protest, which began from NITEL junction at Wuse 2, was disrupted by armed policemen who had cordoned off the road leading to the National Assembly and three arms zone.

Those injured were looking lifeless when our correspondent visited the scene on Monday. Live ammunition was fired at the protesters as they advanced toward the Eagle Square leading to commotion and pandemonium in the area.

Odion Ighalo has reportedly called it quits with the Super Eagles shortly after a successful campaign at AFCON 2019. The former Watford striker and Shanghai Shenhua striker is a strong contender for the Golden Boot award after scoring five goals in the tournament.

Renowned Sports journalist Osasuo and Brila FM are reporting that Ighalo agreed with Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr not to make a public statement before the third-place playoffs with Tunisia.

A Nigerian man simply identified as Olamide, is currently writhing in pain after a soldier allegedly assaulted him at the Dangote fertilizer plant, Ibeju-Lekki this morning July 18th.

Olamide shared a photo of his swollen eye on his Twitter handle with the caption

I didn't steal o, didn't violate any law and a soldier beat me up today at Dangote fertilizer gate this morning

His friend, @Kunmi_004 also shared photos of Olamide with his swollen eye on Twitter, and demanded justice

A friend of mine (olamide) was beaten to a pulp by a soldier this morning at his work place at Dangote fertilizer plant, ibeju-lekki. He's going through a lot of pain right now.

Armed robbers shot and wounded an official of So-Safe Corps, a security arm of Ogun State Government, during a robbery operation at Olorunsogo community in Oke-Lantoro area of Abeokuta. It was gathered that the operation team of So-Safe Corps raced to the scene of the robbery to rescue the community from the robbers.

The armed robbers shot the officer, Kehinde Aigbe and fled the scene. Aigbe, 48, was rushed to the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Idi-Aba, Abeokuta, where he underwent an operation. The Director of Information and Public Relations of the Corps, Moruf Yusuf, who confirmed the incident, explained that the officer was shot in the stomach, resulting in serious injuries.

Similarly, the Chief Medical Director of the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Abeokuta, Adewale Musa -Olomu, also confirmed admission of the victim, expressing optimism that the management was prepared to do its best in saving the life of the victim. The Commander of the Corps, Soji Ganzallo provided all needed materials for the hospital, to ensure that the officer was revived.

The new born baby pictured was abandoned at the premises of Vine Hope Rescue Home, Kuje, Abuja, on Monday, June 17, 2019.

According to Facebook user, Chigozie Effe, mother of the bady boy died while giving birth to him. The late mother was a native of Bassa Kuomo, one of the villages in Abuja, which allegedly still practices the killing of twins as well burying children whose mother died in the process of giving birth to them.

A tricycle rider, John Fabunmi, on Friday appeared before an Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court, for allegedly beating a personnel of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority and dragging him into a gutter while on duty.

According to the prosecutor, ASP Akeem Raji, said the defendant beat Mr Ayodele Omotosho many times, pushed him into a gutter, tore his uniform and damaged his phone. “The defendant also sat on him and soaked his uniform in the mud, following an argument,” the prosecutor said. He submitted that the defendant damaged Omotosho’s Infinix phone valued at N84,000.

The Chief Magistrate, Mrs A.O. Layinka granted the defendant N200,000 bail with two sureties in like sum. Layinka ordered that the sureties must be gainfully employed and have evidence of two years’ tax payment to the Lagos State Government.
