Politics / Mother Sells Child For N50,000 by naijajive(f): 5:31pm On Feb 05, 2012
An 18-year old mother, Ms Blessing John, has been arrested by officers of the Nigeria Police Force in Niger state, for selling her two weeks old baby girl for the sum of fifty thousand naira.

The baby was allegedly sold to Mrs Chikodili Jude, who has been childless for almost three decades.

The police’s public relations officer; Richard Oguche confirmed the development to Channels Television in Minna, the state capital where he explained that “Ms Blessing John transferred the ownership of the two weeks old baby girl to Mrs Chikodili Jude after collecting a part payment of twenty thousand naira.”

According to the police boss “Ms John was impregnated by one Sunday in Kwetere gwari area of Minna but he absconded after she informed him of the pregnancy, so Ms blessing was forced to approach Mrs Jude who had been married for twenty-seven years without a child to buy the baby as she cannot cater for her.”

He further stated that before paying the money, Mrs Jude forced her-the young mother- to sign an undertaking to release the baby to her after which she paid the first instalment of twenty thousand naira.

However the neighbours who suspected a foul play informed the police who after weeks of investigations arrested the suspects who confessed to committing the crime.

Celebrities / Tinie Tempah Best-dressed Man By Gq Magazine And Chris Brown Worst-dressed by naijajive(f): 10:00pm On Jan 30, 2012
Tinie Tempah has been named the Best Dressed Man by GQ magazine in their 2012 poll, with Chris Brown coming out on top in a poll to find the worst dressed man in the world.

‘Written In The Stars’ hitmaker Tinie always looks sharp whether in concert or on the red carpet and his sharp style has been noted by GQ readers, who placed him above the likes of Dr Who star Matt Smith and Man City striker Mario Balotelli in the poll.

It was less complimentary for Chris Brown however, who was voted as the Worst Dressed Man in a top ten that also included Dappy and former TOWIE star Mark Wright

Religion / We Will Defend Ourselves, Churches, Homes Against Boko Haram - Adeboye by naijajive(f): 5:14pm On Jan 30, 2012
At last, the highly respected Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye has broken his silence over the incessant attack on Christians, their homes and places of worship by the Boko Haram, an Islamic sect in the North Eastern part of the country.

Several homes and churches had been burnt and Christians have been killed in their hundreds by the sect and the most unforgettable one was the attack on the worshippers at a Roman Catholic Church in Mandalla, Niger state where no fewer than 48 lives have been confirmed dead.

The Cleric, who is the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) has read a Riot Act to the sect warning its members to stop attacking Christians, their homes and churches or face the consequences. "We are not allowed to burn mosques or kill people of other religious beliefs but d Bible says we are allowed to Defend ourselves, churches, homes. 'Be gentle as a dove but Wise as a Serpent'", Adeboye posted on his Face Book wall yesterday.

This position tallies with the resolve of the Christian leaders in the North who met recently in Abuja where they vowed never to attack anyone but tasked their members to defend themselves, their homes and the churches against any further attack.

At the meeting a fire-spitting cleric (name withheld) whose church is located in Area One, Abuja was asked to teach on the position of the Bible on religious intolerance.

The Pastor, according to an eye witness, took his audience from the Old Testament to the New where he cited how Christians were able to defend themselves against any unprovoked attack.

"We need to remind these murderers that Jesus, our Lord and Saviour, is both the Lamb of God who took away our sins and the Lion of the tribe of Judah. He is the Lamb to us but Lion against our foes. And more importantly, the roaring of a lion is purposely for the territorial protection. We used to run before but henceforth we run no more," the Pastor decleared.

"We used to run away before but henceforth we would stand to defend ourselves, our families and the church of God against any attack. No religion has a monopoly of violence. They were asking us to quit the North, to where? Do they think all the Christians in the North are non-indigenes? We are going nowhere, every church has been asked to provide adequate security to its members during the hours of worship and they leaders were charged to protect their families wherever they are located, "the Abuja based pastor who was at the meeting disclosed.

Politics / Patrick Ekeji Summoned To Defend Spending (n1.2million To Secure A Facebook Page by naijajive(f): 3:05pm On Jan 30, 2012

The Director General of the National Sports Commission (NSC), Chief Patrick Ekeji is reportedly being summoned by the House of Representatives over the Commission’s expenditures, including N1.2 million for Facebook account.

In a high profile investigation panel set up by the House of Representatives over allegations of financial misappropriation and abuse of office, Chief Ekeji would explain how the N3.7 billion that was advanced to the Commission for the 10th All Africa Games held in Maputo in 2011 was expended.

According to the Nigerian Tribune;
“He (Chief Ekeji) is expected to defend how he transferred monies to 19 sports federation;  N1,200,000.00 (One million, two hundred thousand naira) used in opening Facebook account for the National Sport Commission; N182, 124, 179,000.00 used in rehabilitating the National Stadium in Lagos, and another N117,875,820.95 used in rehabilitating the Obafemi Awolowo Stadium (Liberty Stadium) Ibadan. Ekeji will also provide warrant of approval by President Goodluck Jonathan for him to expend the sum of N350,000,000.00 from the yet to be approved 2012 Budget for the London 2012 Olympic Game.”

The said Facebook account of theNational Sports Commission currently has about 5465 fans and doesn’t look like anything bought for N1.2 million (about $8000)

Celebrities / Morgan Freeman To Marry His Step-granddaughter by naijajive(f): 4:17pm On Jan 27, 2012
A few weeks ago, a disturbing story broke that Morgan Freeman was maintaining a 10-year relationship with his step-granddaughter with whom he had a questionable sexual encounter when she was young. Yes, they are not related through blood, but Freeman is 72 and E'Dena Hines is now 27, which means she would have been 17 when they first, um, got together. Once Freeman's wife found out about their secret affair she filed for divorce, and now the Enquirer is claiming that once proceedings go through, he and Hines are set to wed.

"Morgan has led her to believe that he wants to marry her," says a family insider. Another source says, "Becoming Mrs. Morgan Freeman has been E'Dena's goal."

Consider us creeped out. Morgan Freeman is giving Woody Allen a run for his money!

Religion / Stand To Stand Out by naijajive(f): 1:46pm On Jan 17, 2012
1 Samuel 15: 22-23
… Hath the lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the lord,
This tells us of how King Saul disobeyed God and tried to offer sacrifices to God in disobedience.
1 Samuel 2:9
…and shall strength shall no man prevail…
What have you not done to succeed? You have gone through school, settled the things needed to be settled in life yet nothing forth coming. We need to stand out in Christ by living in obedience. We are doing everything in the name of the lord but no one wants to stand out in obedience. Obedience has to do with sacrifice. It is risky to obey. Obedience is submitting to another person’s will and nobody wants to submit to another person’s will. Stand out!
The bible says obedience is better than sacrifice.
God gave order in the garden not to eat of the fruit yet man failed to obey and chose to live in disobedience. What does God require from you this day? It is obedience to his word.
It is possible that you can succeed in disobedience. Saul succeeded in disobedience by going to war and not killing, i.e. destroying that entire city he was told to destroy.
Ephesians 2:1
And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins…
When you are disobedient, you are controlled by the prince and powers of the air according to Ephesians 2:2
When you are stubborn and rebellious, you are controlled by and influenced by evil spirit.
What is influencing you? We should stand to stand out against the works of evil and evil spirits. Hebrew 12:15
Looking diligently…lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you…
And that is why the bible says we should watch! It is sad to know that we are living and influenced with the spirit of disobedience. After we serve God and fast and pray, are we going to be acceptable before God? Think on these things!
What is the word of God, forgive everyone as I have forgiven you, do we forgive have we obeyed in this? It is not how many that are in the church but how many that is acceptable before God.
2 Timothy 3:5
Having the form of Godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
Stand out brothers, stand out sisters. Stand to stand out because at that day, you will stand out before God. Nobody will be there to stand for you; you will stand alone, so stand alone here and declare your faith. Only people who are failing we join. You leave the people you are suppose to learn from and choose
NOTE: That you succeeded does not mean that God is with you!

Isaiah 1:19
If you obedient you will eat the fruit of the LAND.
Job 36:11
If they obey and serve him, they shall spend their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures.
Exodus 15: 26
…if you diligently hearken to the voice of the lord thy Go… I will put none of these diseases upon thee…
1 Peter 1:14
As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance:
1 Peter 4:17
…what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?
Stand out to obey! This is the call.
Look at our homes, and churches, no control at all, filled with disobedience and rebelliousness.
1. Obey God
2. Obey God’s servant
3. Obey those in authorities
1Timothy 2:1-4
, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men; for kings and for all that are in authority;…
Act 23:5
…thou shall not speak evil of the ruler of thy people.
Abraham was blessed by God because he lived in obedience. We can be like our father Abraham if we live in obedience. We should not be rejected by God because of disobedience.
God bless you

Religion / Can You Find The 16 Hidden Books Of The Bible In This Piece? by naijajive(f): 11:25pm On Jan 16, 2012
I once made a remark about the hidden books of the Bible. It was a lulu; kept people looking so hard for facts…and for others it was a revelation. Some were in a jam, especially since the names of the books were not capitalized. But the truth finally struck home to numbers of our readers. To others it was a real job. We want it to be a most fascinating few moments for you. Yes, there will be some really easy ones to spot. Others may require judges to help them. I will quickly admit it usually takes a pastor to find one of them, and there will be loud lamentations when it is found! A little lady says she brews a cup of tea so she can concentrate better. See how well you can compete. Relax now, for there really are sixteen names of books of the Bible in this paragraph

Let me know how many books you can find

Religion / 8 Ways To Win Husbands To God by naijajive(f): 11:13pm On Jan 16, 2012
We find beloved sisters living a life of complains and regrets having husbands who show no care and love to them but desire love and care. These things are even commonly found in the Christian faith. Most ladies take the grace of God not to be submissive to their husband and live a life trying as much as possible to be equal with their husband thereby causing problem in the relationship or marriage. This ought not to be. It is known as taught in God’s word that the man is the head of the Home as Christ is the head of the church. Therefore, wives ought to submit themselves whole heartedly to their husbands.
I have outlined 8 ways to win your husband to God and to yourself as a wife; and they are
1. Submit and obey husbands in all things 1 Peter 3:1
2. Obey the word of God as to regarding man as the head of the home
3. Have chaste conversation. The word chaste refers to “ behaving in a pure way not with immoral thoughts”
4. Let your outward adorning be the chief aim in life 1 Peter 3:3&4
5. Let the inner man be adorned more than the outward man
