The Deputy Governorship candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC) and the Bayelsa State Coordinator of the Tantita Security Nigeria Limited, Great Joshua MacIver has sacked his Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Jonah Daumieye.

According to the Statement, issued on behalf of Great Joshua MacIver (aka De IzonTukpa) by his Chief of Staff,Timi Igoli, after thorough assessment and consideration of his conduct both in private and public, it has become evident that Mr. Daumieye's character is not in alignment with the ideals, character, and personal values that the name IzonTukpa stands for.

According to the Statement, "By this notice, we wish to inform Bayelsans and the general public of the termination of Mr Jonah Daumieye's appointment as Specialm Assistant on Media and Publicity to Great Joshua MacIver (aka De IzonTukpa)."

"This decision, which is effective immediately, has been made in the best interest of maintaining the integrity and credibility of our media and publicity efforts.We wish Mr. Daumieye the best in his future endeavours"

The battle before Senator Friday Konbowei Benson, Senator Representing Bayelsa Central Senatorial District, had been on fire for alleged forgery of his NYSC certificate.

In a letter currently circulating on Social Media from the NYSC and signed by Okonofua K.N for on behalf of the Director-General has denied issuing the document which Senator Benson reportedly submitted to INEC to secure his senatorial seat

“I wish to inform you that the Certificate of Exemption number; 000256454”
“belonging to Benson Friday Konbowei forwarded for verification was not issued by the NYSC. Thank you.” – Okonofua K.N

Recall that the Senator KONBOWEI FRIDAY BENSON, was arraigned on three counts bordering on forgery of his National Youth Service Corps exemption certificate No. 000256454 among others.

The counsel for the prosecution, Rubben Egwaba, had opposed his bail application during the hearing of his bail application on Thursday, 28th March, 2024. He noted that the defendant would interfere with his trial if granted bail.

He said, “While the charge was filed, the defendant (Konbowei Friday Benson) took several steps to interfere with the matter. He also wrote a lot of petitions against me to truncate the matter. We urge My Lord to refuse the application.”

WHAT THE CONSTITUTION SAYS ABOUT CERTIFICATE FORGERY

Punishment of forgery in general. Any person who forges any document, writing, or seal, is guilty of an offence which, unless otherwise stated, is a felony, and he is liable, if no other punishment is provided, to imprisonment for three years under Section 463 of the Criminal Code. While Sections 362 to 364 of the Penal Code address forgery offenses, with penalties reaching up to 14 years of imprisonment.

A Federal High Court sitting in Yenagoa, Bayelsa state, has on Friday, granted Baraza Multipurpose Cooperative Society Ltd. a settlement of 30 million naira.

In the case under suit number FHC/YNG/CS/125/2022, involving Mr. Miebi Bribena and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Justice Isa Dashen of the Federal High Court, Yenagoa division, rendered the landmark judgment in favor of Mr. Bribena, C.E.O of Baraza.

Disclosing the development, Baraza Multipurpose Cooperative Society Ltd., in a Press Release, appealed to members currently having legal actions against the Cooperative to discontinue their lawsuits so as to enable the firm facilitate the promised capital settlement process.

The statement reads in part;

“We are pleased to announce a significant development in the legal proceedings between Arch. Dr. Miebi Bribena and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). On Friday, March 22nd, 2024, Hon. Justice Isa Dashen of the Federal High Court, Yenagoa Judicial Division, rendered two landmark judgments in favor of Arch. Dr. Miebi Bribena”.

“Recall that sometime in June, 2022 the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission published in the National Dailies and their website the pictures and names of Arch. Dr. Miebi Bribena and his wife, Mrs. Beatrice Bribena, declaring them as wanted persons. In a swift reaction Arch. Dr. Miebi Bribena and his wife, through their legal team approached the Federal High Court, Yenagoa Judicial Division in a bid to enforce their fundamental human rights to privacy, movement, personal liberty and dignity of human person vide Suit No.: FHC/YNG/CS/132/2022 between Arch. Dr. Oyinmiebi Bribena & Another v. Economic and Financial Crimes Commission & Anor. In delivering his ruling on the 22nd day of March, 2022, the Honourable Justice held that the action of the Respondents (EFCC) by declaring the Applicants wanted without a valid Court Order was unjustified, unlawful, illegal and unconstitutional and a breach of the Fundamental Human Rights of the Applicants. The Honourable Court consequently ordered the Respondents to offer a public apology to Arch. Dr. Miebi Bribena and Mrs. Beatrice Bribena and also pay damages”.

“The case, brought before the Federal High Court in Yenagoa under suit number FHC/YNG/CS/132/2022, underscored Mr. Bribena’s unwavering commitment to upholding his fundamental human rights. Specifically, the court recognized his rights to personal liberty, freedom of movement, and dignity of the human person, affirming the importance of due process and fair treatment under the law. Mr Miebi Bribena was never officially invited by EFCC and EFCC never procured a Court Order before declaring them wanted”

“Sometime in June, 2022 Bliss Multinational Perfection Limited and Arch. Dr. Miebi Bribena carried out an Originating summons against the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission wherein they put four questions to the court for determination with regard to the provisions of Sections 49 and 50 of the Nigerian Co-Operative Societies Act, CAP C35, Laws of The Federation of Nigeria, 2004 and Section 51 of the Co-Operative Societies Law of Bayelsa State and on the 22nd day of March, 2022 in what can be termed a landmark judgment, the Honourable Justice Isa Dashen of the Federal High Court, Yenagoa Judicial Division delivered his judgment and answered all four questions in favour of the Plaintiffs and consequently declared that by virtue of the provision of Sections 49 and 50 of the Nigerian Co-Operative Societies Act, CAP C35, Laws of The Federation of Nigeria, 2004 and Section 51 of the Co-Operative Societies Law of Bayelsa State the Defendant cannot interfere in any dispute between members of BARAZA Multipurpose Co-Operative Society Limited arising from the business object of the society and also granted an order of perpetual injunction restraining the Defendant (EFCC), its servant and agents from inviting, harassing, arresting, detaining the Plaintiff as a result of the Civil Dispute between BARAZA Multipurpose Co-Operative Society Limited and her members”.

“In light of these favorable rulings, Arc. Miebi Bribena extends an earnest appeal to all members of Baraza currently embroiled in legal disputes against the Cooperative and its President to kindly withdraw such law suits. It is imperative that these cases be discontinued promptly to facilitate the commencement of the promised capital settlement process”.

“Furthermore, we acknowledge the numerous independent lawsuits brought forth by several members, totaling over 97 court cases, with 50 cases already decided in favor of the Cooperative and its President. This underscores the complex legal landscape faced by the Cooperative and emphasizes the importance of swift resolution for the collective benefit of all stakeholders”.

The Cooperative Society was established a little over a year ago by a prominent architect turned pastor and politician, Miebi Bribena, with the aim of improving the lives of people and reducing poverty.

Architect Miebi Bribena, founder of Baraza Multipurpose Cooperative Ltd, has pleaded with members to give him more time to ensure that all lingering issues be sorted out.

Bribena made this known through his verified handle on Tuesday while clearing speculations about his 2024 birthday celebration.

The Baraza C.E.O explained that he did not celebrate his birthday but only changed his profile picture in his social media page, thanking those that still trusts him and is standing by him.

Describing the current situation of Baraza as a setback, Bribena said he has taken responsibility to rectify every losses, saying he regret all pains the situation has caused.

The statement said “Dear All, Yesterday was my Birthday. I did not post any Birthday News. I only changed my DP am Boom Fire Fell. First of all this Picture was taken in 2017.

“All my Accounts are Frozen ( Personal, Company, Cooperative Accounts). Its been almost 3 years now. All my Assets Sealed. All my Business Shut Down. No Contract. My Properties Stolen or Vandalised. My BVN is on Central Bank of Nigeria. My life under Threat.

“I was Declared Wanted by EFCC. My wife was joined to be declared Wanted for what she knows nothing about. All her accounts frozen and businesses disrupted. For almost three years it has been a stalemate. 97 Law Suits to tackle.

“I paid out over N22 Billion before crises struck. With all the shortcomings what result could I achieve to remedy the situation in the Last 3 years. When a business thrives the people involved enjoy it. When a business crashes all involved suffer setback. My intentions were genuine but it happened ( story for another day). I was arguably the most influential figure in Bayelsa in 2020/2021.

“I turned down Government Appointment because I wanted Baraza to succeed. I attended 3 weddings and two government function in 12 months. I truly wanted Baraza to survive.

“There was peace in the land. Kidnapping died. Criminality reduced. There was no need for additional policing in Bayelsa. Government House Patronage died because people were prospering in Bayelsa.

“We have held General Meetings.

There were leakages in the system by those in charge. The security agencies were notified. I am the head. I have taken responsibility to rectify the losses. All the pains are highly regretted.

“All I asked was my right to freedom to work hard to bring solution. 3 years have passed and no significant. Who expected success in the present circumstances? All we need is understanding, patience and time. This issue will eventually be sorted out.

“Now to my birthday, I NEVER celebrated it. My brethren organised a Praise Service to honour God. My brethren are fully aware of the crises. I his nothing from them. They trust me. I only shared in status and story. Not publicly. When it comes to praise of God I am sorry I have no apology for that.

“I thank those that still trust me. I thank those that decide to never leave me because they never forget the good memories of yesterday. I thank those that have insulted me because it’s a reference point for future glory. I thank those that have cursed. In heaven those words are blessings.

Baraza Multipurpose Cooperative Limited operated in Bayelsa state until 2021 when the Cooperative encountered some unpredictable setbacks, making members to demand a refund of their monies invested.

Saint Meipanmo Onitsha, the Chief Executive Officer of Naija Live TV and a Niger Delta Activist has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the appointing Dennis Otuaro as the new Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP).

He also congratulated the newly appointed Amnesty boss, expressing optimism that the programme will have a face lift under his administration.

In a congratulatory message on Saturday, Onitsha also used the opportunity to pleas with the new administrator to reinstate the over 3,000 illegally delisted delegates of the Programme for the interest of unity and oneness.

The activist noted that Chief Dennis Otuaro as a PhD holder in Comparative Politics & Development Studies; MSc in Public Administration, and a BSc in Education will know-how to handle the role to revamp the Amnesty Programme and advance the course of its founding purpose and vision.

Saint who is a beneficiary of the Presidential amnesty Programme, noted that the reason for the amnesty programme has not been achieved based on poor performance of successive Interim administrators in tackling the retraining and reintegration of the former Ex-Agitators back to the society.

The message reads “I want to specifically thank H.E, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for appointing an insider of the Presidential Amnesty Programme in the person of Chief Dennis Otuaro as Administrator of PAP”.

"Amnesty was granted to the Niger Delta ex-militants to promote peace and reconciliation in the region. It was a way to address the grievances and find a peaceful resolution.

"The amnesty programme played a significant role in bringing peace to the Niger Delta region and was designed to provide the former militants with the opportunity to lay down their arms, renounce violence and be reintegrate into the society.

"Through this programme, they were to be given vocational training, educational opportunities, and financial support to start a new life. This helped to reduce the level of violence and instability in the region, fostering a more peaceful environment for everyone.

"But successive interim administrators failed in this regard. Instead of empowering them, delegate's names were wrongly delisted from the programme for no reason."

Recall that Saint Meipanmo Onitsha, among many other beneficiaries, was incarcerated in Kuje prison early October, 2023, by the immediate past Administration of PAP due to his demands for the right measures to be put in place for ex-agitators.

The incarceration led the Africa Head, Committee for Protecting Journalists (CPJ), Angela Quintal, in New York to attest that “Saint Mienpamo Onitsha was detained for nearly four months simply for doing his job, which should never be considered a crime.

Confusion In Diri’s Camp, As FG Renders Apology Over PAP’s Misleading Information About MacIver’s Amnesty Status

The Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), through the office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, has issued an unreserved apology for denying that the running-mate to the Bayelsa State Governorship Candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Great Joshua MacIver, received an unconditional pardon from the late former president of Nigeria, Umaru Musa Yar’Adua.

In a letter signed by the Interim Administrator of PAP, Major General Barry Ndiomu (retired), and sent through the office of the SGF, the Federal Government admitted to the fact that due to the urgency of the confirmation, the Technical and Data Unit of PAP provided information hastily, thereby providing misrepresentation of the presidential pardon status of MacIver.

According to the letter, upon thorough investigation by the Federal Government, it has been identified that there was an oversight in the records regarding Mr. Joshua MacIver’s PAP beneficiary status, while regretting any confusion or inconvenience caused by the oversight.

Parts of the letter dated 24th August, 2023, reads “I am writing in response to your letter with Reference: SGF.19/S/105/178 dated 7
July 2023, as well as this organization’s reply under Reference OIA/PAP/IAO/VOL V/417 dated 7th July, 2023, concerning Mr.Joshua MacIver’s status as a beneficiary of the Presidential Amnesty Progromme (PAP).

“I would like to mention that due to the urgency of the confirmation, our Technical and Data Unit provided information hastily, as indicated by the dates of both the received letter and our response.

“Upon thorough investigation, we have identified an oversight in our records regarding Mr.Joshua MacIver’s PAP beneficiary status. It has now been established that Mr. MacIver received an unconditional pardon from the Late President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua.

“We deeply regret any confusion or inconvenience caused by this oversight. Rest assured, we have taken corrective measures to rectify our records and prevent
future discrepancies.

“We apologize for any misunderstandings and any inconvenience this misrepresentation may have caused. We remain steadfast and commited in maintaining accurate records for all PAP beneficiaries. Please accept as always, my highest assurances and esteemed regards.”

Reacting to the news of the letter, Great MacIver, said that he has always had confidence that he is innocent of the allegations levelled against him by the opposition party, People’s Democratic Party (PDP), and urged supporters of the APC to remain steadfast and united against all odds.

He further challenged the PDP Governorship Candidate, Senator Douye Diri, to prove his capacity to Bayelsans by engaging his principal and governorship candidate of the APC, Chief Timipre Sylva, in a public debate at least twice before the forthcoming November 11, 2023, election in the state.

A wooden bridge worth N1.5million (One million five hundred thousand naira) has reportedly collapsed in Yenagoa the Bayelsa state capital on Saturday.

The footbridge crossing the Epie creek and linking Okutukutu communities was constructed by community youths effort few months ago and was free for all.

The leadership of Opu-Nembe, in Nembe local government area of Bayelsa state has again raised alarm over an attack on the kingdom by persons on police uniform.

The chairman, Opu-Nembe council of Chief's, Chief( Barrister ) Ezekiel Samuel Teigbenyo-Ikoli and Secretary, Chief Johnbull Efere, in a Statement on Saturday night alleged that despite repeated plea by the leadership of the community for peaceful coexistence, the former minister of state for petroleum resources, Chief Timipre Slyva and Mr Kojo Sam in connivance with others have attacked Opu-Nembe again for the fourth time with men on police uniform.

According to the statement, women were raped and so the Youths, women and the chiefs of the community resisted the attack but some persons sustained different degree of injuries while they run for safety.

The duo again, called on the federal government, the Bayelsa state governor Senator Douye Diri, the inspector General of Police, Egbetokun Olukayode, and the various security agencies to investigation and arrest those behind the incessant attack on the kingdom.

They emphasized that the community was peaceful until the deployment of the unknown policemen, adding that the safety and well-being of the Opu-Nembe community should be of paramount importance, and swift government intervention is crucial to ensure their protection.

They equally advised the law abiding people of Opu-Nembe kingdom and its environ to be law abiding and vigilant despite the unprovoked attacks as the leadership of the community is working around the clock for the the safety of the community.

The Bayelsa State Chapter of the Ex-agitators’ Leadership forum, has intensified calls for the immediate removal of the interim Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), Gen. Barry Ndiomu, for threatening the peace enjoyed in the region by redirecting the programme to suit personal ambition.

In a statement issued on Sunday in Yenagoa, the Chairman of the first phase ex-agitators leadership forum, General Charles James Kurobo noted that “Gen. Ndiomu’s deft ears and blind eyes towards the first phase leaders from Bayelsa State can no longer be condoned” and that they’re being forced to return to the streets by the leadership style of the interim Administrator.

While, applauding the the Managing Director of NDDC, Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, for his efforts in repositioning the NDDC for continuous improvement, the ex-agitator leaders advised the NDDC boss not to align with Gen. Barry Ndiomu who is under persistent calls for suspension and immediate arrest for abnormalities.

The forum said “the reigning peace in the region is sustained to attract investors” has become a common saying or slogan, so-to-say and we are no longer comfortable when components set up by the federal government to sustain the peace enjoyed so far are the ones pushing the said peace to fragility.

“We appreciate Dr. Ogbuku for his efforts to repositioning the NDDC for continuous improvement and applaud such laudable achievement but aligning with Gen. Barry Ndiomu at the time of persistent calls for his suspension and immediate arrest is not in the best interest of the NDDC boss and we advice him not to join issues bedeviling the Ex-agitators’ Leadership forum, Bayelsa State Chapter of especially the first phase leaders and the PAP with the NDDC.

“We have done our best and we know it. We also appreciate the world’s knowledge on the corporate ways of addressing issues beyond street agitations but it is also our responsibility to let the world know the appointees mandated by the federal government in some quarters, to manage and sustain the peace, are those pushing us back to the streets because they flourish more during chaos and crisis.

“For as much as we don’t want to be seen as gullible for such antics, Gen. Ndiomu’s deft ears and blind eyes towards the first phase leaders from Bayelsa State can no longer be condoned because we are overstretched already.

“You can not expect us to stay off the streets by deliberately subjecting us to penury and to be honest, we are at the end of that line because the IA has given us no room,” they said.

Calling on the President, H.E Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to suspend the interim Administrator of PAP as his continued stay in office may spark another regional crisis from ex-militants who genuinely gave up arms, the ex-agitators noted that Gen. Ndiomu is continually creating room for a crisis by forming and appointing groups on their behalf and introducing figures that are not justifiable.

“We honestly can not continue like this. We have made series of appeals over the state of the PAP under Major Gen. Barry Ndiom’s deplorable behavior and we, the Ex-agitators’ leadership forum, Bayelsa State chapter are saying we can not take this anymore! We are once again calling on the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration to immediately suspend and arrest the interim Administrator of the PAP as his continued stay in office may spark another regional crisis from ex-militants who genuinely gave up arms.

“He is continually creating room for a crisis he cannot manage by initiating appointments on our behalf and introducing figures we can not identify or point out there roles during the struggle.

It’s never been heard about such an office as ‘The national Chairman of Ex-agitators’.

“Sponsoring people for publications with titles just so they attend secret meetings like the one held in Port Harcourt recently where the NDDC played host, was not in the interest of peace or the Ex-agitators’ Leadership forum because chapters were in attendance, including Bayelsa State, meaning we were not invited. How then do you sustain peace under such measure? It could either be a clear attempt to undermine and distort or a clear lack of competence to manage and sustain existing peace,” they said.

Explaining that the Interim Administrator has lost focus and mobilizing people with no idea of the struggle against the actual beneficiaries, the ex-agitators noted that the PAP office under Gen. Ndiomu is now characterized with lack of transparency, mismanagement of resources allocated to the program, favoritism and support meant for Ex-agitators been grossly misappropriated.

“People with no idea of our pains before and during the struggle cannot be seen as our leaders after peace has been restored for this long. This, we will resist by any means necessary.

“We are hereby calling on the National Security Adviser (NSA), the Chief of Defense Staff (CDS) and the Inspector General of Police (IGP) the CG, NSCDC, to urgently intervene and redirect the steps to the context and goals of the Presidential Amnesty Program and see to it that it’s original objectives that typically began with an official announcement and declaration by the Nigerian government in 2009, where eligibility and benefits were offered to former militants who participated in the region, as a foundation.

“There are clear indications of how the Interim Administrator has lost focus and seen the actual beneficiaries as enemies which has put us under intense pressure and frantic calls seeking solutions to issues and redress concerning PAP office has not been fruitful. Unfortunately, a lot of questions like; “who are these people claiming to be representing Ex-agitators and what do they represent?

“People hired by Gen. Ndiomu are obviously not helping matters because they can not best advice him in areas requiring practical field experience to do so. We have been taken for granted for far too long by the IA and we see him taking advantage of the fact that after realizing the benefits of dialogue and toeing the line of peace, our hands are tied to act otherwise. I advice the retired general to have a rethink.

“Lack of transparency, mismanagement of resources allocated to the program and favoritism resulting in the benefits not reaching the intended beneficiaries and while the rehabilitation and reintegration phase were well-intended, the support meant for Ex-agitators has been grossly misappropriated, giving room to peace fragility.

“The inadequate support for education, job placement and societal reintegration has kept us under pressure, seeing that some of the ex-militants the I.A has pushed to the wall don’t fall back to violence or criminal activities and calls to get Gen. Ndiomu’s attention on the way forward to these situations we seek solutions to, has constantly fallen on deft ears because he has derailed and clearly lost focus due to his quest to redirect the program to suit his personal ambition and for this reason, we appeal for the redemption of the PAP office from Gen. Barry Ndiomu through the offices mentioned above.

“Instead of concentrating on goals of the program, Gen. Ndiomu’s lack of sustainable livelihood opportunities for the reintegration has led to extreme frustration among Ex-agitators, making some more susceptible to regrouping for an unproductive course,” they added.

The Bayelsa State APC elders council has called for the immediate sack, prosecution and arrest of the coordinator of the Presidential Amnesty program, Major Gen. Barry Ndiomu on allegations of overt partisan support in favour of the Peoples Democratic Party and of Bayelsa State Governor, H.E Douye Diri whose payroll he has been under according to credible reports.

In a statement obtained on Tuesday, Chairman of the Bayelsa State APC elders council, Chief Maxwell Adomokeme, wondered why Major Gen Ndiomu has decided to remain an aide of sort to the Governor of Bayelsa State Douye Diri instead of focusing on Niger Delta’s delicate security concerns which, of course, is his primary job description.

“We wonder also why confidential mail communication between his office and the office of the Secretary to the Government of The Federation would be deliberately leaked and made subject of pedestrian deliberations”

“We are not concerned about his obvious PDP ties and the fact he is a kinsmen to former Governor Dickson, our only concern is why he has consistently converted the Amnesty Program to an anti-APC apparatus which is made more evident in his overwhelming empowerment of PDP card-carriers and his recent and painful support of H.E Atiku Abubakar during the last presidential elections”

The Chairman of First Phase Ex-Agitator's Leadership Forum, Bayelsa state Chapter, Charles Kurobo, has said that despite recent threats by the Interim Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP) Maj. Gen. Barry Ndiomu (rtd), aggrieved beneficiaries of the amnesty programme will continue to speak until issues relating to misappropriation bedeviling the programme are uncovered.

Mr. Korubo stated in Yenagoa while reacting to a statement in which the PAP Interim Administrator warned that those duly captured as PAP beneficiaries who are taking part in spreading false narratives against him and the amnesty office will be dealt with in accordance with the extant laws of the programme.

Explaining further, Korubo said that the enquiries of ex-agitators into the anomalies of the amnesty programme is not intended witch-hunt any individual as the PAP Interim Administrator makes it seem but to draw the attention of relevant authorities to how ex-agitators are denied access to vital information that will help them achieve economic integration and build their potentials to generate or gain employment.

He also alleged that if not for the support of Monarchs from the Niger Delta region who are supposed to be catalyst for human capital and social development in the Niger Delta, Ndiomu wouldn't have chosen to issue threat to well meaning beneficiaries of the programme who genuinely making contributions on how he can better improve and achieve the mandates of the programme.

He said "We will continue to air our concerns as we possibly can till attention is drawn to the precarious nature and style of the current administration of the PAP marred by defilement in the quest for social and economic integration in the phase of human capacity development.”

“Our enquiries are not ill-intended as the PAP makes it seems but the unexpected defenses, created to deny us access to vital information with respect to economic integration and why we still lack the potentials to generate or gain employment and develop better use of our resources through the spread of technological knowledge as promised by the program when we gave up arms in 2009 has remained invincible and we will not stop asking or be forced to silence even if a serving or retired military general is involved.”

“We complained of misappropriation, denial of benefits and other entitlements or cause for review where necessary and the interim Administrator of the PAP, General Ndiomu is quick to put the integrity and credibility of the Nigerian banks to question, when we all know that it is impossible to run two accounts with your BVN even if it’s just an alphabet missing from any of the details linked to the BVN!
How did a digital portal created for a program with about thirty thousand (30,000) beneficiaries with a minimal ratio of digital and ICT knowledge, aid the PAP's office under the current leadership to the discovery of the alarming figures allegedly discovered and steps that were taken to not just blocking but also bringing to book the banks, its officials and the beneficiaries criminated in the allegations?”

“It is only clear that Ex-agitators ignorant or lacking access to the portal are by general Ndiomu’s standard not worthy of the benefits from the PAP even when the affected were captured since 2009, using such as an ace to exhibit calumny.”

"No sane father will ignore his own child or prefer the place of his child as in the case of some of our Kings who have so attached themselves to the crumbs from the table of the current interim Administrator. It’s indeed a shame but there’s, not ours.

“Who knows, they may have been blindfolded with, as unwary as they are, to the idea that they will constitute the body of another impending scam aimed at the so-called N1.5b scheme recently publish to create an impression of sensitive activities at the PAP’s office.”

“Such kings identified with irresponsibility, incompetence and gross neglect of social, political and economic development of people from their kingdoms and the region large, like Ex-agitators in the case of the PAP can not and should not be trusted.”

Niger Delta Ex-agitators has applauded the appointment of Nuhu Ribadu as the National Security Adviser (NSA) in the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's administration.


In a Press Statement signed by its Chairman, High Chief, Gen. Charles Kurobo James, the Ex-Agitators’ Leadership Forum (EALF), Bayelsa State Chapter, expressed confidence in the ability of Nuhu Ribadu.


The leadership equally called on the NSA to "keep the Interim Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), Major General Barry Ndiomu (RTD) and his melodramatic praise singers at bay" If he must Succeed in maintaining the relative peace in the Niger Delta.

The Chairman of the Ex-Agitators Leadership Forum further said while in office Major General Barry Ndiomu (RTD) Padded the monthly Payroll of the Amnesty Programme unidentified names White Elephant Projects through which Massive Embezzlement of funds running into Billions of Naira has been Diverted as the Funds meant for the programme's Empowerment and Reintegration packages for Ex-agitator's who are left to their Fate continue to wallow in Abject Poverty in the Creeks of the Region.


Gen. Charles Kurobo James added that Major Gen. Barry Ndiomu is currently using the said looted Funds to sponsor Publications Signed by Monarchs who have lost Relevance in their various Domains due to mediocrity and Self-Acclaimed Militant Generals in a bid to Cajole the Presidency for extension of his Stay in Office as the Interim Administrator of PAP.


"This We Advice Otherwise As it will Ridicule the Image of the Current Administration that has Started So well Already. Gen.Charles," he said.


Kurobo James said "if you read the Publications suggesting that Ex-Agitators from the nine Niger Delta states are calling on the NSA to Reappoint Gen. Barry Ndiomu as the next Interim Administrator of PAP, You will see a Clearly desperate man drowning in Misappropriation and Gross Abuse of Office because there are No Answers to Questions of Who Gershom Mpaka Gbobo is or what he represents at the PAP, to Author Press Statement in Favor of Gen. Ndiomu and there is no known group such as Coalition of Ex-agitators of Niger Delta (CEND) in the Niger Delta.


"The Obvious facts Points to a desperate General who has lost Grip seeking soft landing. False names used to cover up the schemes of Ndiomu. We are not surprised because he has a lot of False names padded up in the PAP data base for diversion of N65,000.00 monthly allowance for supposed beneficiaries of over 1000 Ex-Agitators.


"We therefore stand on our Resolve and Appeal that His Excellency, Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR), Extends his house cleaning exercise Into Financial Misappropriation and Gross abuse to the Office of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), because the Interventionist Programme has become a cash-cow for Successive Interim Administrators," he added.

The people of Opu-Nembe in Nembe LGA of Bayelsa state is calling on government and relevant agencies to immediately come to their aide following a great "military siege" over the kingdom.


In a Press Statement released by the Opu-Nembe Council of Chiefs, the kingdom alleged the current military present to hunt sons and daughters of the kingdom is alleged to be from the directives of some big Politicians in the state.

The Opu-Nembe Council of Chiefs explained that the invasion of the kingdom by military men early Friday, on armored vehicles and armed soldiers patrolling round the kingdom and searching houses has caused distress among the people, disrupting the peace of the kingdom and leaving them vulnerable.


They therefore called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR), the Bayelsa state Government and other authorities for swift intervention to ensure the protection of the Opu-Nembe kingdom and to end the scaring situation faced by the kingdom continually.


The statement said "The Opu-Nembe Council of Chiefs in Nembe LGA, Bayelsa state is bringing to the notice of the Federal and state government that the peaceful people of Opu-Nembe is currently facing a grave situation as military personnel have siege the kingdom, following the directives of some big Politicians in the state.


"The development comes days after we received credible intelligence report of another imminent attack on the Opu-Nembe kingdom.


"Recall that in our last press conference held on the 18th day of May, 2023, we stated all the names of sponsors and actors involved in these dastardly attacks. The immediate past Minnister of Petroleum for state was mentioned in our last press conference was also named as one of the person's shielding the perpetrators of the dastardly act from arrest.


"The military men descended upon Opu-Nembe earlier today, creating a scene of fear, chaos and confusion as armored vehicles and armed soldiers patrolled round the kingdom and searched houses, causing distress among the people. The invasion has disrupted the daily lives of the community's residents, leaving them feeling vulnerable and unsafe within their own homes.


"This unwarranted military presence threatens the core values the peace loving people of Opu-Nembe. It is imperative that immediate action is taken to address the concerns of our people and restore the tranquility they once enjoyed.


"Furthermore, we call upon president Bola Tinubu, who is the commander-in-chief of the armed force, Bayelsa state Government as well as other relevant authorities to intervene swiftly and ensure the protection of the Opu-Nembe kingdom from any forms of attack as it is our rights to live in peace and be secured by the security agencies.


"We the people of Opu-Nembe kingdom deserve to live without fear, with our fundamental rights protected, thus we appeal a swift end to this distressing situation and restore the harmony that the kingdom so deeply cherishes. Long live Opu-Nembe kingdom," the statement read.



It was gathered that the Nigerian Army numbering over dozens stormed Opu-Nembe in Nembe LGA of Bayelsa state on Friday 23rd June, 2023.

The Ex-Agitators’ Leadership Forum (EALF), Bayelsa State Chapter, has appealed to the president of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR), to extent his investigation into financial misappropriation to the office of the Presidential Amnesty Program (PAP), saying the interventionist program has become a cash-cow under the leadership of the Interim Administrator, Major General Barry Ndiomu (rtd).

In open letter to the president, titled "WHY THE PRESIDENTIAL AMNESTY PROGRAMME (PAP) SHOULD FOLLOW NEXT IN THE HOUSE CLEANING EXERCISE AS IN THE CASE OF THE CENTRAL BANK OF NIGERIA (CBN)" the chairman of the forum, High Chief, Hon. Gen. Charles James Kurobo, said while officials of PAP flourish in wealth, Ex-Agitators’ leaders and delegates are wallowing in abject poverty and total neglect.

He said that the call for the probe became necessary because of the fact that the PAP office still collects money for the over three thousand ex-agitators that have been delisted from its data, non-payment for contracts awarded by the PAP office and executed by leaders that are supposed beneficiaries of the programme and manner they are leaving students of various training centres stranded after specific trainings.

Parts of the letter read: "please accept my heartfelt congratulation on your landslide victory, seen to be orchestrated by Divine will. Best wishes for your success as you have taken up the responsibility of restoring our status as the Giant of Africa, not just in size but in strength, unity and stability.

"Your 'Renewed Hope' agenda has indeed given us hope for a future we have already envisaged is not far-fetched because we believe in your leadership and we pray to God for you to also consider the PAP in your house cleaning exercise just as you have started with the subsidy removal and the CBN.

"The PAP, from all indications, has lost focus from its original mandate for which it was established over personal interest which has become a cash-cow, predominantly under the current leadership of the Interim Administrator (IA), Major General Barry Ndiomu (rtd).

"While the PAP office and its officials flourish, the Ex-Agitators’ leaders and delegates wallow in abject poverty and total neglect by the Interim Administrator, with trillions of Naira sunk in the programme from inception in 2009 till date.

"The present PAP's Administrator (IA) has hijacked the programme and restricted its vast responsibility and obligation to just payment of monthly allowances which recently saw most long-time beneficiaries as unworthy.

"Your Excellency, Mr President, as the Chairman of Ex-Agitators’ Leadership Forum (EALF), Bayelsa State Chapter, our group discovered that the same reasons youths of the region took up arms against the Federal Government are still being meted out to us --- the leaders and delegates by the very office set up by the Federal Government to address, manage and avoid the recurrence of what triggered militancy in the region.

"Our appeal to you, Mr. President, and as the father of all Nigerians that you are today, is to avail us of your alliance and foster the continued peace currently enjoyed by the people and stakeholders of the Niger Delta region and the nation at large which we know for a fact that a good majority wants the region to remain that way but the PAP office has been acting otherwise!

"The PAP office is no longer interested in its primary mandate of diligently executing some components of the PAP but constantly initiating large robust projects/programmes to attract huge funding from the Presidency with no physical evidence.

"My leadership is saddled with the responsibility to project the forum in a positive light for the peaceful coexistence and the benefit of all stakeholders and make do to mitigate the following: 1). The over three thousand (3,000) ex-agitators that have been delisted from the PAP's data by General Barry Ndiomu (rtd.). 2). Non-payments for contracts awarded by the PAP office and executed by leaders that are supposed beneficiaries of the programme.

"3). Leaving students of various training centres stranded after specific trainings. 4). Zero empowerment and start-up funding for delegates. 5). Zero vocational training for the majority of the delegates who are left to their fate on how to manage with their families. 6). The inconsistent stipend of Sixty Five Thousand Naira (N65,000) only, which is not sustainable given the current economic situation in our land today.

"Mr. President, there is, therefore, an urgent need for a thorough review of the PAP activities, as very little, if any has been achieved in terms of training, empowerment and reintegration as designed by the programme from inception.

"Leaders and delegates remain the punching bags of the Interim Administrator. While Barry Ndiomu and his cronies go home with their cache of 'Ghana must go bag', they have continued to undermine delegates by refusing measures for funding supposedly meant to cushion the effects of lingering grievances among the leadership of the ex-agitators across the Niger Delta region.

"Slots meant for leaders and delegates who were fortunately trained in various fields to fill up some vacuums in the International Oil Companies (IOCs) and other aspects of economic reintegration in the region are left stranded with some running from pillar to post every calendar year in a bid to make annual returns to FIRS.

"Multi-national oil companies operating in our communities deny us access. Federal Government Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs), parastatals and organisations of the federal and state governments have little or no regard for us due to the PAP’s continued neglect of part of its primary mandate to ensure total reintegration of ex-agitators into the larger society.

"May it please you, Mr. President, to consider and embrace the spirit that resonates in us as you lead us through our collective efforts towards a prospective, progressive and unified era. God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria; God bless President Bola Ahmed Tinubu; God bless the Niger Delta region and God bless us all."

There is a flicker of brightened hope of better survival for coastal dwellers in the Niger Delta region of Nigeria, following an interventionist project funded by the European Union. This was the position of leaders who participated in a two-day Inception/Ceremony and Cooperative Planning Event with the tag “Coping with Climate Change as a Cause of Conflict in Coastal Communities of West Africa” also known as C7-West Africa.

This took place at the Golden Tulip Hotel & Resort in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.

The Governor of Bayelsa state, His Excellency, Sen. Douye Diri, represented by Secretary to the State Government, Alabo Gideon Ekeuwei, call on the European Union, to intensify their support approach in helping coastal communities from negative effect as a result of climate change.


Fielding questions from journalists, leaders of coastal communities expressed optimism of better days ahead for their people who suffer negative impact, as well as, conflicts that are induced by climate change.

The representative of European Union in his response, promise to render support to the affected area in the best possible approach. More importantly, is to get commitments from state and non-state actors regarding the project and many more.


He also thanked the Italian Shipping Academy for appointing the Nigeria Maritime University as local implementing partner.


The Security Component Coordinator of C7-West Africa, Air Commodore Darlington Abdullahi, provided insight into the C7 project.


Dignitaries present at the event are, Nigeria’s Chief of Defence Staff, and the Director-General of the National Environmental Standards and Regulations Enforcement Agency (NESREA).

Also in attendance were representative of the Italian Shipping Academy, Chairman of the Bayelsa State Traditional Rulers Council, and representatives of civil society groups.


Train the Trainers workshops are scheduled to hold in Rivers, Akwa Ibom, Delta, and Cross River States respectively.

Elders and traditional Chiefs of Opu-Nembe Kingdom in Nembe Local Government area of Bayelsa State have sent a strong worded protest to President Buhari, the President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the Inspector-General of Police and the State Governor, Senator Douye Diri, over allege shielding of the accused killers of the three youths by gunmen in February.

According to the Opu-Nembe elders, despite the fact that the alleged attackers numbering hundred and purportedly hired by one Mr. Kojo Sam, to kill three youths identified as Mr. Bait Agala (m), Miss Queen Kieriseiye (f) and Mr. Inikio Walter (m), the promise of intervention, submission of petition and withdrawal of security surveillance job from the accused have been allegedly thwarted by the Former Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Chief Timipre Sylva.

The Elders and traditional chiefs of Opu Nembe kingdom led by the Chairman, Opu-Nembe Council of Chiefs, CHIEF (BARR.) EZEKIEL S. T. IKOLI, and his Deputy, CHIEF O. A. BIAMBO, REV. G. O. OTIOTIO, President. ONIU, CHIEF ROBERT JOHNBULL EFERE, Secretary, Opu-Nembe Council of Chiefs, DEPUTY CHIEF A. G. DUO, Secretary, Deputy Chiefs Council, MR, IRUO S. OPUTA, Secretary, ONI and CHIEF FYNE .I. ALLEN (ELECT), Chairman, Opinion Leaders, argued that the Nicodemus and reluctant attitude of Chief Timipre Sylva since he visited the kingdom on the heels of the killings showed he is complicit,"It is pertinent to note that the former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Hon. Timipre Sylva came to the Community and, while condemning the attack by Mr. Kojo Sam, promised the Community to stand by it and bring the perpetrators to face the law."

"Amongst his promises were (1) to submit a petition from the Community to the Inspector General of Police, (2) to withdraw the Tantita Pipeline Surveillance Contract from Mr. Kojo Sam.The Kingdom in trust handed over the petition to the Honourable Minister then, Hon. Timipre Sylva but to the dismay of the Kingdom, the petition did not see the light of day."

"The Community, after waiting for a long while without any action from the Security Agencies, employed the services of a lawyer to petition the Inspector General of Police which got the IG's approval."

According to them, "We must remind our press audience that in our last press briefing, we did inform the press that the perpetrators were being protected by some highly placed personalities and we did promise we would expose them in our next press briefing. Now we can authoritatively state that the former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Hon. Timipre Sylva is one of the persons protecting and shielding the police and other security agencies from arresting the perpetrators of the brutal attack on the Kingdom."

"Now that the Police (IGP's office) have started action by arresting the perpetrators, the former Minister of Petroleum has shown his true color that he is behind the attack. He is now threatening to use the Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) Zone 16, Mr. Ben Okolo and the Officer-in-charge of Anti Kidnapping, SP Benson to launch a counter arrest on the citizens of Opu-Nembe who were attacked, killed and maimed."

"It is also worthy of note that Hon. Timipre Sylva is the de-facto contractor of the Tantita Pipeline Surveillance Contract having Mr. Kojo Sam as the cover contractor. We are not also oblivious to the fact that a former Senator is also behind this attack. Several calls and threats are coming from the aids to Hon. Timipre Sylva; SP Mohammed, Hon. Victor Isaiah, former Chairman, Brass Local Government Council and other close associates of the former Minister."

"The former Minister, Hon. Timipre Sylva is now re-grooming Mr. Kojo Sam, his hired militants and other militant groups to carry out another attack on the community in a bid to take over the Community to ease his governorship ambition. We have an emphatic security alert that another brutal attack is
eminent."

"The King, Chiefs and people of the Opu-Nembe Kingdom, as law abiding Citizens, are crying and appealing to the President, General Muhammadu Buhari (Rtd), the President (Elect) Senator Bola Tinubu, the Executive Goveror of Bayelsa State, Senator Douye Diri, the Inspector General of Police, Chairman, Police Service Commission, National Security Adviser and other relevant Authorities to save the Opu-Nembe Kingdom from the hands of the highly placed individuals who are determined to destroy the peace loving people of Opu-Nembe Kingdom."

Barring last minute political considerations, a popular ex-Niger Delta Agitator and leader of the ‘Izon Tukpa Movement’, Great Joshua Maciver, will contest the gubernatorial election as running mate to Chief Timipre Sylva of the APC in Bayelsa State.

NAIJA LIVE TV reported that, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has published names of candidates to contest the November 11 governorship election in Bayelsa State.

The INEC had announced on Thursday that it would publish the personal particulars of the candidates participating in the governorship elections in Imo, Bayelsa and Kogi states.

Popular Nollywood actor, Obinna Nwafor, popularly known as Saint Obi is dead.

The actor was said to have died on Sunday, last week, May 7th in the home of one of his siblings.

According to reports, the disagreement between his siblings is the reason why his death took almost a week to be made official.

Saint Obi is aged 57 years.

Founder of Prophetic Light Ministry, Yenagoa, Prophet Diepreye Samuel Okiakpe, has raised a woman that was dead for about two hours.

Investigations revealed that the woman has passed on before she was rushed to the live Sunday service at the Church auditorium in Osiri road, Ekeki Yenagoa, Bayelsa state.

The woman was prayed for by the man of God and she came back to life in the presence of the congregation. There was jubilation in the congregation as everyone joined in thanking God for the miracle.

Members of Nigeria's House Of Representatives led by Hon. Peters Akpatason has lauded the Tompolo led Tantita Security Services outfit, saying that it has tremendously improved the nation's economy through its pipeline security surveillance activities.

Hon. Akpatason said this while on a visit to Tompolo at Oporoza, the Traditional Headquarters of Gbaramatu Kingdom on Wednesday.

He said, “the partnership of Tompolo with the Federal Government of Nigeria, the navy and other military agencies has led to significant improvement in the nation’s oil sector.”

Tompolo while responding assured them that he will do everything to ensure that he delivers on the mandate given to him and the management of Tantita.
