i think what they mean was that the total sum of all files you download musn't exceed 15mb daily, i've used it to download only a few times, and what i downloaded(pics and a few songs) haven't exceeded 15mb/daily as i don't like downloading medium/big files with opera mini..

i browse the net on my spare time as i'm introverted.. i'm currently attending a computer hardware repair seminar.. in the past i've learned ms word, ms excel and half-way through corel draw..

i'm 21, and sadly, haven't been to the uni. due to some reasons.

it's been nice chatting with you. thanks!
Do you have any spare time, I want to know if you are interested on working on a project with me?

U would still need data to open some apps e.g whatsapp, bbm and those not on the free basic app.
Okay thank you for the clarification. I really appreciate it. Have A Good Saturday and a Great Day.

i haven't used messenger on freebasic though i may try it tonight.. i believe it should be free'cos despite the fact that you couldn't view pictures on facebook with freebasics, you can actually download(not tested) and upload(tested) pics on it for free.. same with nairaland. i've downloaded many pics(memes) upto 10mb on nairaland for free..
Okay thank you for the clarification. I was gonna ask you about the pictures as well. What about web pass? Can you download files for free under web pass as long as hey are less than 15 mb? Plus what do you do on your spare time? What is your profession or what did you study?

Fair enough response smiley I'm right in the process of considering the long term prospects, whether this will this help us, or exploit us in the long run. Anyway, thank you for answering smiley cool

you're welcome..
Sorry to disturb you but please one more question. Have u tried using Facebook Messenger under Facebook Free Basics? If you have, is that also free? If I wanted to send files to you through Facebook Messenger will you be charged for data while you are using Facebook Free Basics, or will that be free as well?
PhonesRe: Facebook Free Basics In Nigeria Launched In Partnership With Airtel by naijatechworld: 5:15pm On Jun 18, 2016
Sexytemi:
That would be nice, there's already a free basic here in Benin republic and it works fine.

Note: only can be used when u have no data, if not ehn, your data would be swiped if u using it with it.
If that is the case, people shouldn't buy data then right? Or what do you think?

freebasics/webpass isn't enough for an average Nigerian internet user, you can't use them on whatsapp, lindaikeji's blog and other major social sites/blogs, and sometimes, they(freebasics/webpass) are slow when browsing compared to data subscribtion..
for me they're not enough since you couldn't use them to download/browse all websites(even webpass pop-up ads when browsing)..

webpass isn't totally free, it only gives you internet access for a limited period of time and you have to pay(a token)..

but, most times, when there is advert on webpass(from companies), those companies pay airtel to let people browse for free, in return pop-up ads when browsing and also link you to their facebook/twitter page to 'like/follow'

webpass can only be used on operamini(not opera).. try it with your opera mini browser..
Okay thank you for your insight and good details about everything. I will like to apologize for the late reply. Im sorry about that. Still thanks once again for your intuition, knowledge, patience and wisdom. Have A Good Saturday and a Great Day.

asuustrike2009:
There are various reasons
1.Their network capacity is poor as they can't carry enough subscribers especially during network usage For instance when they newly allowed bis on Android, their network was poor compare to MTN when simple server was in vogue
2.Their data consumes faster than other networks so most persons are skeptical of their network
3.Their network isn't as strong as their competitors MTN and Etisalat
4.Most persons are reluctant to change as they stick with their former operators
Sorry for the late reply. Thank you for your clarification. I understand everything better now. Thanks once again for your knowledge, patience and time and Have A Good Saturday.

hell no still buy data as alway.
Why do u still need data, if you can access Facebook n Nairaland? As well as other important sites? Also y isnt everybody else on it? All Nigerians should be taking advantage of it, why aren't they?
PhonesRe: Who Has Tried Facebook Free Basics? How Is It? by naijatechworld(op): 2:29pm On Jun 18, 2016
qoura123:
mine still works on operamini enter freebasic.com from there it goes on.
So that means you don't need to buy data again, right? Since you can access Nairaland and other sites from Facebook Free Basics, am I right?

vickystaring:
u can even use nairaland for free...jux go 2 o.freebasics.com den scroll down nd u wil c nairaland
Thank you for your feedback. So if then all you need is an Airtel SIM Card and no data, why won't people just switch to Airtel in order to get free internet from Facebook Basics? Like by now all Nigerians should be using Airtel for free internet, whether they are rich or poor. Like what is stopping them? Why haven't more Nigerians gone to Airtel?

apart from free basics you can also use webpass.. goto webpass *dot* opera *dot* com and activate any free plan.. it can be used to browse all websites and download files not up to 15mb..

you can simple subscribe to airtel 2gig/14days for N200 on 2g network and save yourself the freebasics/webpass stress..
Thank you for the information. I am very grateful. So then there is no need to buy data when you can get it free from Facebook Free Basics, right? Y won't most people just switch to Airtel in order to get Facebook Free Basics, since most of the websites that Nigerians visit is on Facebook Free Basics? Also is webpass also free? I just typed the link into my browser but nothing came up. Do you know where I can get more information about webpass?

Jobs/VacanciesRe: 7 Ways To Stay Motivated When You’re Looking For A Job by naijatechworld: 6:24pm On Jun 14, 2016
Although I just recently created a topic for this question, I wanted to hear other people's views on this. I've observed that web traffic for Nigerian job websites or let's just say job websites for Africa in general are always low in numbers like in the thousands. But when you check the web traffic for social communities/networks in Africa or Nigeria like Nairaland or like Linda Ikeji Blog, or just news they are so high like in the millions. I would think that many people would use the internet to get more money. Am I wrong in my thinking? Is it that everybody that can afford the internet, does not need a job? What is going on? Please explain.
