You've said it all.

Dorime-ying and allied acts have led to the downfall of many, sadly.

Best wishes bro. I hope I'm free to reach out, should I need your counsel.

You've done well bro.

Been off here for a little while. Had to catch up from page 2 or so.

You vibe is not from this clime bro. The average Nigerian (to some extent African) hoards knowledge particularly about matters like this. Most are insecure and feel that by sharing info, one is positioning others to take their place.

Saw you once worked as a security guard shocked ... You don't sound like what you've been through though. grin

Good stuff!

Nice insights from everyone who has contributed. An educative thread indeed.

richmondefosa:
Thanks boss.

I treasure my weekends o. Lol

For branches, does everyone get to have a share of the weekend ATM duties? Does it matter if you're not a teller, CSO or ATM custodian?

richmondefosa:
With my personal experience, I would choose to work in the back office. I love the community and sense of belonging.
Also, it’s a sure and faster way to climb the ladder. You know it’s like a pyramid. The higher you climb, the fewer spaces. But working in the back office can afford you ample time for weekends which you can use to chase you masters or personal business. Working in a branch will not always guarantee this because you’re sure to do ATM weekend (Saturday and Sunday are classified as one) duties twice a month.

So back office does it for me. I am a career driven individual.
CareerRe: Your Thoughts On Nigerian Banks Salaries 2021 by NairaEffect(op): 11:49pm On Aug 15, 2021
Welcome back bro.

Wow... This is really expository. Thanks for sharing.

From what you've listed, it's obvious back office locations/head office have more advantages over the branches.

I guess one of the "disadvantages" of head office will also be that you have to be on your best behavior at all times because eyes are on you and you don't know who is watching you. One may get away with some things at the branch but not at the head office.

For the late closing part, why is that the case with head office? I was thinking it should be easier for them to wrap up and close on time since they are not balancing books at the end of each day like the branches.

Also learnt that most of the head offices have a gym where you can workout before resumption or after close of business while waiting for traffic to ease.

The subsidized food at the canteen grin and staff bus are nice perks just like the opportunity to network across different levels.

richmondefosa:
Advantages of Back Office Location (Head office inclusive)

1. You get free Tea/coffee grin this means a lot because it solves breakfast issues. Just get your bread. There’s a dispenser in every work station.
2. Free staff bus with AC. This solves transportation challenges. My house is about 5 minutes walk to my bus stop. All I need to do is get to my bus stop and there’s a bus to take me to and from work. The buses cover almost all locations in Lagos. From okokomaiko, ikorodu, iyana ipaja, ikotun, Berger, and even Mowe in ogun state. Just get to your bus stop. This saves some part of your salary too.
3. There’s a food canteen and a dining area with nice cheap and affordable food. They come with an array of diverse food where you pick from. This is better than branches where you have to send the cleaners to get you food that may be expensive. The caterers are carefully selected and changed every week so you don’t get too accustomed to their food. They provide breakfast and lunch.

3. There is a Christian fellowship with complete music instruments . There’s also a moslem prayer ground. It’s like a family literally.

4. There’s a games room. Table hockey, tennis, PlayStation etc. so when your head gets too full at work, take a break and play some games.
...
...
...
These are my personal experience.

Outsourcing firms usually have different banks as clients that they recruit for.

For customer service/tellering positions, UBA, for example, pays 80K. Pay varies from bank to bank. Average is 70-80K and usually comes with HMO and pension.

These positions are usually handled by outsourcing companies. Good luck.

DSuperiorBrand:
Boss, thanks for the inputs so far. Please, I need you to help me with something.

I was invited for interview and training by an outsourcing firm- Karferry Limited.

It's for a bank teller/customer service officer role. They say conversion is possible after 2 years, and that the bank in question is one of Nigeria's multinational commercial banks.

Any idea which bank it could possibly be and what their pay looks like ?

Responses will be greatly appreciated.
CareerRe: Your Thoughts On Nigerian Banks Salaries 2021 by NairaEffect(op): 6:49pm On Aug 14, 2021
In your opinion, do those at bank head offices earn more than those at branch level?

If one could choose, will you advice one to work at the head office or at a branch?

I'm sure they both have their advantages. Will be glad if you can shed some light. Thanks.

richmondefosa:
Like I said before, if you’re posted to back office operations ( ilupeju campus, Walter carrington, idejo street, wealth house), your pay is a bit higher than those posted to branches.

If you get posted to global market, you’re the boss of them all. These guys are the ones who trade forex on behalf of the company. They literally swim in money.

This is very insightful.

The lie detector test cracked me up a bit. grin

Lie detector test in Nigeria... Lmao.

Will be nice to see what is obtainable in different banks though.

richmondefosa:
One thing I know for sure is that banks pay their full time staff well. Very well. The work is stressful but the pay is worth it.

Write the exam, pass, get scheduled for an interview. Pass, you get scheduled for a lie detector test. Pass and go for medicals. Pass medicals and get your new offer letter as a full time staff.

If you are a contract staff with them with 2 years or more experience and you get converted, you're given BTA 2.
the salary band max is about 280k.

these salaries are also dependent on the location you are posted to. If you are posted to back office operations, you earn more than people posted to branches.
This is asides appraisal bonus every march and profit sharing. 12 month salary and other benefits.

stanbic converts their contract staff. if you are not more that 33 if i recall correctly. they dont accept HND. if you have HND you will have to convert it to bsc.

Since you won't post, let me help post the long rubbish to save people the stress.

THE 1.25 MILLION NAIRA CONTENT WRITING PROJECT

I'm building two visions in one. I'm building a content writing team where writers both new and seasoned content writers can hone their skills and become even better writers.

This journey has seen seven youths onboard this vision and it has been a transformative journey for the writers that joined. Not only have they become proficient and knowledge in many areas building and adding up to their insights and personal knowledge, they find a purpose in what we do.. That each writer can build wealth through business opportunities profits derived from the writing projects are poured into, this is the second enterprise.

The second enterprise is another team of physical workers working onboard a 40 acres agricultural projects towards agricultural ventures like maize cultivation over 40 acres and plantain cultivation over 10 acres.

The sites are situated in Ofada. My writing team works in a way where we engage in writing services and the funds are channelled into full ding these activities. And at the end of the full cycle, writers get to earn up to 1.25 Million Naira, this is on an agreed contractual basis where we will both enter into signed agreement. And the financial reward can be more if the operational targets are exceeded.

I welcome you if this project interests you to partake in this agribusiness venture. Willing writers that are close can come and partake In different phases of the project and get busy and gain some experience while at it.

If it interests you, send a reply so we can begin both your content writing mentorship and your voyage on this new page, life is offering us both

I look forward to receiving your affirmative response with great expectation of your agreement to join my WritersHub

One thing is certain, this is a journey that will not just leave you financially rewarded but will transform your views and orientation, add to your skillset and impact on your life significantly

Thank you for indicating your interest in this opportunity to write and earn a 1.25 Million Naira after 12 months

What's the assurance of payment you may ask:

ResourceHub acquired 40 acres of land towards the cultivation of 50,000 plantains in Ogun state. If a bunch of plantain at harvest sells at 600 Naira each, the expected return becomes 30 Million Naira.

Note, plantains matures in ten months, maize will also be cultivated. The cultivation of the maize and plantain in massive scale is what the funds will be channelled into. And, the proceeds is what will be shared with writers after 12 months.

I want to build a financial team to back this project up, and I need competent writers to come join hands with me in pushing this project

This money will be used to pay for activities like tractor clearing, manual labourers fee, and planting the plantains.

Note:

1. We will have a written agreement to this effect

2. You can visit the sites and we will build a physical cooperative to drive this project together

3. You will be paid data allowances. For Every 6000 Words, you will be paid 1000 Naira. Even if 6000 Words is written every 3 days, you will be provided with 1000 Naira data allowance during this duration.

The project makes provision of 1000 Naira after every 6000 words. If a writer writes 2000 words a day and 6000 words in 3 days, this allowance will be paid. Even if it's done in four days, the allowance will be released during this timeframe. Should a writer need financial assistance in the midst of this project, because of its nature as as a cooperative....

4. You can come into the project if you’re interested in participating in agricultural activities

5. I will assign each contributor to get 250,000 Naira worth of plantains monthly the first six months after harvest so this will be a distribution structure for the produce so you will have a new business activity. This is asides from your returns towards the development of this project

You will be paid 1.25 Million naira at the end of the contract which both parties will enter upon engagement. Payment for service will not be paid to you per article basis or weekly, rather, the funds will be channelled into the operations of ResourceHub businesses, at the end of the contract, the business enterprise pays out each writer for their services towards the growth and development of the establishment.

This is what it's about and this offer is open to both new and seasoned writers.

Kindly indicate if this project interests you so we can proceed. Note, i will be mentoring new and yet to be fully developed writes so you can be rest assured this is a team that is committed to your financial growth and development as a writer.

Do get in touch with your decision. I like to know if this project interests you so we can begin

You can choose one year 1.25 Million Naira

Or

Six months 500,000 Naira

Let me know if it interests you

Finally, some writers on the contractual terms engagement will be selected to join the publishing prospect of the team that begins immediately after the project. On this, the chosen writers will be paid monthly salary between 60,000 and 80,000 Naira monthly... With relaxed work routines than the workload on the contractual writing tenure.

Thank you
