68816419: rubbish, so does that justify high cost of it for a project of which 90% of the total cost was payed and sourced from China ,for a poor country like Kenya?,how about Abuja-kaduna sgr(198km) which cost $860 millions (not billions?), kenya - Mombasa (400km) cost a whopping $3.84 billllllllllioooooooooons.!!!!! the whole of Nigeria sgr projects contract for the 2, 733km (now 3053km )new Lagos - Kano rail was first awarded by former Presidential Olusegun Obasanjo in 2006 at a cost of $8. 3bn to the Chinese company ( CCECC ) but could not be executed due to paucity of funds. but now going on and now $11.1billions with addition extension of calabar section and port Harcourt...kenya is damn doomed my friends , please stop comparing stations with actual construction any body can build such ,all u need is good architects and builder Cheap SGR. You'll continue having substandard infrastructure poor Nigerians. |

A twelve year kid can see this.....very obvious.

68816419: fool, nigeria got that with only $860millions while Kenya got theirs with whopping $3.9 billions ,abuja-kaduna line is 200km while Nairobi-Mombasa line is just 400km do the calculation your self ...even Ethiopian rail was far cheaper and better The $3.4 billion project was built by two Chinese companies and is the first to be electrified in Africa. Compare that to phase 1 of Kenya’s Standard Gauge Railway. Its cost stands at Sh367 billion(3. , almost the same as the Ethiopian line, but more than 100 km shorter. That begs the questions: Has Ethiopia built an inferior line or is Kenya not getting value for money or is our money being stolen? $860M for an SGR. Cheap infrastructure. No wonder your stations look like Barrack Dormitories and all your infrastructure look cheap. Compare Lagos infrastructure to Nairobi's - Lagos looks so cheap. |

vaxx: this is a report from IMF. The report compiled by experts and released in April this year says Ghana's recent power crises affected the country's economic growth. However, the IMF described the economy's overall performance as inspiring with projection of a 7.7 percent growth by 2017.The report says economic growth was likely to expand in 2016 to 4.5 percent from 3.5 percent recorded last year amidst power shortages andadoption of fiscal consolidation measures. The IMF said Ghana's current per capita income was also higher than that of Cote d'Ivoire's $1,314.7 and Senegal' $913.0 as wellas Kenya's $1,338.5.It placed Ghana in the Medium Human Development Category with a score of 0.579, which was higher than that of Nigeria at 0.514, Kenya (- 0.548), Senegal (- 0.466) and Cote d'Ivoire ( - 0.462). Where's the report and when is it dated? It's hilarious because Kenya crossed the lower middle income in 2014. That means Kenya's GDP per capita crossed the $1500 mark in 2014. |

vaxx: so far ghana gdp p is 70billion dollar compare to 65 billion of kenya.
likewise govt total revenue of ghana rake annually 9 billion and over while kenya maintain 7 billion and over. all in dollars
unemployement in kenya is far worst than nigeria. it is around 34percent compare to ghana 11percent.
ghana enjoy better electricity infrastructure in africa lagging behind only south africa and morroco. 1. Kenya's GDP nominal was $69B in 2016, how can it be $65B now yet we've had a positive growth? Kenya's GDP is projected to be $75 billion this year. 2. Ghana's GDP is not $70 billion. You had a -ve growth in 2014 and 2015 dropping from your highest ever GDP of $47B in 2013 to $37B in 2015. Ghana is projected to hit $42B in 2017.

vaxx: what is the beat time to predict 2017. will it be within 6month of 2016 or early 2017. so far ghana earns more in revenue than kenya and has a larger GDP than kenya. Yet to be updated. Wikipedia put ghana gdp per capital ahed of kenya. So i will say 2017 projection might not be reliable since we are just in 6months of it. Ghana's GDP has never been higher than Kenya's mate. Your GDP per capita has been slightly above Kenya's but Kenya recently beat you........and what revenue are you talking about? Be specific. I agree though - your HDI is above ours - mainly due to the vast arid lands in Kenya. |
Foreign Affairs › Re: Kenya Is Ahead of Nigeria In All Aspect (Facts Don't Lie) by NairobiWalker(m): 6:01am On Jun 02, 2017 |
freshest4live: GDP of Ghana is not more than that of Kenya. It's GDP per capita that has Ghana slightly ahead in that aspect. Ghana is 27million(dunno if the so called 5million Nigerians are included) to Kenya's 45, million. Actually 2017 projections place Kenya's GDP per capita ahead of Ghana's....... |

O0XYGEN: What is mombasa? Abeg stop comparing your kenya to Ghana. That's not even logic. Like seriously? Is it the kenya we see on tv or another kenya? Kenya is popular due to its massive slums, poverty and yr runners. There's nothing special about kenya . We only see famine and starvation. How can you say kenya is developed than Ghana. Is kenya all about Nairobi? Shut up there See this one now. Mombasa is the second busiest port in SSA and a city wealthier than all Ghana's cities apart from Accra. Please stop speaking out of arrogance and ignorance. Let's have brainy people talking here. Your post makes you look stupid. |
