Buh we still have some cool channels from Nigeria like Ebonylife tv (it's now ranked the most influential indigenous African entertainment & style tv station). You can check it out........it was founded by Mo Abudu (whom forbes has ranked as the most succesful woman in Africa). She is the Oprah Winfrey of Africa, as she is the African most succesful tv host of all time.

I notice most of your TV stations focus on entertainment. Kenya's TVs focus on politics more.

I am sorry but I don't really think Nigerian movies are of better quality in comparison with other African's. You just produce too many movies and in many cases you have no competition since other countries produce very few. Otherwise going by quality - nah. Only SA has an edge. Speaking of entertainment, most of these awards are won through votes and 99% of the cases people simply vote for their countrymen/women. That gives Nigerian artists an edge over the rest. Don't get me wrong though, Nigeria has many great musicians (Fela Kuti, Femi Kuti et al) and your current artists produce some good hits but again it's only in Nigeria where a very mediocre artist such as Davido would win awards and top Africa. I don't even know how and why that guy is considered a good musician.

Loool......SA media COMPLETELY DOMINATES Africa. See, there's a difference between media and content. Nigeria might have more of its content in various African countries but who knows ANY Nigerian TV station outside Nigeria for instance? We all have DSTV, we watch Channel O, Supersport etc. I personally don't know of any Nigerian media house. There's a difference between content and media.

Bongo means brain. The first President of Tanzania Julius Nyerere used to say "Watanzania ni watu wenye bongo" which means "Tanzanians are a people with brain" and so Tanzanians started calling themselves "Wabongo" meaning "brainy people" and thus following the Bantu language structure, if we are "Wabongo" then our country should be Bongo just like Nigeria is Naijeria in Swahili and Nigerians are Wanaijeria thus in East Africa we call Tanzania Bongo and Tanzanians are Wabongo.

I used to watch Shuga when it was 100% Kenyan. I currently don't know if it still has Kenyan actors but I think Nick Mutuma is still in it.

You've probably heard lots of Kenyan music but you just didn't know they were Kenyan. I think Tanzanian musicians got lots of airplay when they started producing in South Africa and you know South African media dominates Africa.

Shuga is more of a South African program and dominated by South African actors. We have better program series to watch in Nigeria like Tinsel, Desperate housewives Africa e.t.c
Shuga probably left Kenya to South Africa and Nigerian audience because that's where the market probably is. Kenyans don't value entertainment just as Vicotoria Kimani rightly said

You can search Kenya's music on YouTube yourself. Search artists like Elani, Punit, Octopizzo, Khaligraph, Camp Mula, Jaguar, Kristoph, The Kansoul, E-Sir, Nameless etc. They're so many of them. To be honest you only beat us on magnitude. Quality nah. On movies Kenya has very few of them.....it actually takes time for Kenya to produce a movie unlike the Nigerians who roll out movies weekly but honestly speaking I tend to find Kenyan movies of better quality. Even our TV programs are better. By the way you've watched Shuga? I guess you have - yes, that was a Kenyan TV program before Nigerians took it and it started Lupita Nyong'o among others. I'm told it's doing big in Nigeria yet it was just another TV program here in Kenya.

Forget the fact that Maasai's make up only 2% of Kenya's population and most of them only dress that way on special occasions while others dress that way but live in modern houses and drive big cars. I don't blame them though _____the same guys accused S. Africans of being backward and uncivilized and quoted the famous reed dance as evidence. lol

Dude claims many Nigerians being on the internet is the reason why Nigerians are more civilized than Kenyans yet Kenya has a higher internet penetration than Nigeria. who told this people that Kenyans live in the jungle though? By saying Nigerians are more civilized, I never meant to say Kenyans aren't civilized. Nigerians are more out going/adventurous and follow the world trends compared to Kenyans, both in Fashion, ICT use e.t.c You would be shocked by the Number of Nigerians who use the internet.

Again, you would hardly find Nigerians who still live uncivilized people in the jungle unlike Kenyans, The ones that were discovered in the Adamawa mountains were lost tribes who were immediately rehabilitated and integrated back into the society, but in Kenya, this is their normal way of life and everyone knows they exist there, someone even said here that it's their culture, most them still dress unclad.

Kiswahili originated in Kenya. Lamu to be specific - the region used to be called Shungwaya by then. The Zanzibari Sultanate later came to rule the whole Swahili speaking regions reason why many people believe Kiswahili originated in Zanzibar.
