What do you mean when you talk of development? There are many aspects Ghana is ahead of Kenya but Kenya beats Ghana in most. Infrastructure, Tourism, Sports, Education etc. Ghana could be having on average better living standards than Kenya though due to the 80% arid region of Kenya that pulls the average living standards down.

It's not a Nigerian thing, it's a west African thing. Apart from Cape Verde which was a country founded by black labourers & white masters, no other west African country had a history of white, Indian or Arab settlements. Nuuh we don't. Foreigners don't have Financial Influence and domination in Kenya. There are just many of them in high end neighborhoods where they either work for the UN or a multinational headquarter. These mostly play a consumer part in the country.

Ghanaians produce movies with as much quality as the best movies in Nigeria. Tanzanians produce musicians and music videos with as much quality as the best in Nigeria, only that of course, Nigeria will always outnumber them in volumes.

Seems like you are a fan of Tanzanian music? I am also a very big fan too. Right now, after Nigeria and South Africa, Tanzanians have the best musicians and music videos in Africa. Infact i even think Tanzanians are better than the South Africans.

Did you follow the last Mtv music awards (both Africa and Europe)? Imagine that Tanzanian Alikiba won Nigerian wizkid to best African artiste. Even though wizkid was announced the winner in the original award show, the mistake was corrected later and the award revoked from Wizkid and given to Alikiba.
In the female category, Tanzanian Vanessa mdee was also among head to head in the nominations against Nigerian Yemi alde and Tiwa savage.
Tanzanian Diamond platnumz was also among the nominees for best African artiste of the year.
In the whole awards, only Sauti sol was represented for Kenya and cool they managed to win the award for the best collabo (which featured Alikiba).

I love and admire Tanzanian artistes with a passion and i have at least a dozen of their musics on my playlist.

Check out this new Tanzanian music by Taygrin and Vanessa mdee. So cool, you can never see a video/music of such quality and style from Kenya.

Almost all Tanzanian top videos are produced in SA. Many of them were produced in Kenya before they discovered SA. I wonder how SA would produce them better videos than theirs.......talking of Vanessa Mdee's video, you won't get that quality in Nigeria either.

The Cedi was a very weak currency actually. In 2007 they did away with it due to inflation and created another currency - the second cedi that was worth 10,000 initial cedis! In 2007 1$ was worth 470 Cedis!

Despite this it's been weakening at a very fast rate. their inflation is 17% and if the trend continues it will soon be weaker than the Kenya shilling.

Same thing happened with the Zambia Kwacha in 2012 I think.

In terms of currency performance the cedi performs very poorly. Botswana is the best performing in Africa. Kenya and SA perform pretty well too.

Actually 1GH cedi = 0.23$ not the other way round.

I don't think it's about not seeing the good places. I think he's just a bitter loser. He's been bitter towards Kenyans on this thread since day one. Everything good he gives credit to foreigners and he completely has nothing good to say about Kenyans. He's probably into some illegal business and gets bitter every time the Kenyan authorities are on him.

You may have some points though, but i think it is a mutual thing. Ask yourself or ask your Kenyan friends, apart from a great tourism industry, what else can Kenya really offer better than Nigeria? Nothing.
Kenya also has some of the most terrible sights in Africa.
Of what use is a very beautiful neighbourhood with resorts, parks, garden and e.t.c when just beside it, there are huge slums everywhere with millions of people?

How much is their so called tourism sector worth or generating? Beautiful gardens are not enough to make an economic super power. .....It woud have been better if your Kenyan friends use all the money they spend in building luxury resorts in building industries and industrializing their country.
I am not against beauty or an aesthetically pleasing environment, but i think these are things that come in their own time. The oil curse had been the problem that crampled the minds of many Nigerians not to think into other sectors including tourism, but the curse is gradually fading.....
In a short time, a lot of things will fall in place.

¤¤ please can you enlighten me on how the Kenyan tourism industry works? Are there private investors in the sector, or everything is controlled by the Kenyan govnmt? Do tourists pay a general fee to cover for all their trips within Kenya? Are there packages?
Who knows, i could convince my mother to go to Kenya for her next vacation and even come along with her.

Kenya Tourism creates a lot of jobs. The hotels are of course private and pay taxes to the government but one has to pay directly to the government to access National Parks, Game Reserves and other tourist attractions.

In regards to his comment, it reminded me of something that happened before summer break. My English professor was gushing about how she wants to visit Kenya and Botswana to see all the animals. She was even naming them. I interjected her and said I would go to Kenya for the people and the country. She just looked at me disgusted and I left. A similar incident happened with a woman I briefly met. She spent quite some time studying lions in Botswana. She bodly admitted she tried to avoid the black Africans. I guess it doesn't matter becsuse Kenya's ans Botswana's economy is still growing from racist idiots like them, and as long as they pay they obviously have the right to do what they want. It just leaves a bad taste in my mouth, maybe it's the Nigerian arrogance/pride, but I can't accept a tourist treating my people with disdain. This is how I feel with many Nigerian expats (and incidentally why I probably badmouth Indians, Lebanese, Pakastanis in Nigeria).

Depends on many things. Gabon isn't known for its IT that much so in this case it's India. But you would make more money in many other tiny countries than India such as Singapore, Taiwan, Monaco, Denmark etc.

Saying Nigeria has more opportunities than Kenya is just dumb and stupid. Mention which opportunities. You also forget Nigeria also has more people fighting for the said opportunities than Kenya. ........and most Multinationals are choosing Nairobi over Lagos and Abuja - I wonder why they're opting for Nairobi and not the supposed land of opportunities.
