dollar sinks, poor GDP! News: The U.S. Dollar, after having gained throughout the Asian and European sessions, faced significant headwinds in pre-North American trade as a poor gross domestic product reading for the second quarter deflated expectations of a recovery in the world’s largest economy. Following the data release, the U.S. Dollar fell across the board, with the EUR/USD pair rallying nearly 100-pips in under an hour; similar reactions were seen across the board by other major currencies versus the U.S. Dollar. Growth was tepid, at best, in the second quarter of the year, with a 1.3 percent annualized rate coming in at a worse-than-expected clip, according to a Bloomberg News survey. The median forecast called for a 1.8 percent expansion in growth. Similarly, data released in regards to first quarter growth was severely disappointing, with the revised figure showing that growth was nearly nonexistent, at a 0.4 percent annualized rate in the first three-months of 2011. I am set to buy EURUSD at 1.4400, my line is up now, to 1.4536 area., happy pipping. |
was in the bush for a while. is the down trend of EU confirmed? ![]() |
The mail below was sent to me by a friend. I do not know how correct the claims are. Dear All, The mail below is important, therefore, please read, digest and pass it on to EVERYBODY you know!!! Do not press #90 or #09 on cell/mobile phone, IF SOME ONE CALLS AND ASKS YOU TO DIAL #09 or #90. Again, please Do Not Do It If you receive a call on your cell/mobile phone from any person saying that they are checking your cell/mobile line and you have to press #90 or #09 or any other number, end that call immediately without pressing any numbers and/or letters. There is a fraudulent company using a device that once you press #90 or #09, they can access your SIM card and make calls at your expense. To make matters worse, they will use it for terrorist and fraudulent activities and State Agents will instead come for you, arrest you and you may be detained for what you knew nothing about! Please, forward this message to EVERYBODY you know, so we can jointly sensitize as many people as possible, to stop these heinous acts. This information has been confirmed by both Motorola and Nokia. Already, there are over 3 million affected cell/mobile phones. You can, also, check this out at CNN's web site. GOD bless you, as you pass this on to EVERYBODY you know!!! |
Good morning guys. I have believed that every fundamental impact eventually manifests its expression (positive or negative) on the charts. if i am wrong correct me. Wall Street sharply fell yesterday as ranking agencies keep threatening with massive downgrades of the US’ perfect rank. S&P 500 broke the important support at 1330, and slid all the way down to 1310. The next significant support is at 1300 points. Durable goods orders were down by 2.1%, whereas analysts estimated a growth of 0.4%. Investors will try to find some hope in today’s data: continuing claims & pending home sales. EUR/JPY The declines in Wall Street supported the USD against most of the major currencies. Both JPY & EUR were weakening against the US dollar, but the JPY is usually stronger than the EUR, so the EUR/JPY is more likely to slide than rise. The JPY is now dealing with the support at 112, and a break-down of yesterday’s low will complete a classic reversal pattern. The target would be the support at 110. The 20 EMA is resisting the EUR at 113.5, and a break-up there will be a positive signal for the Euro. EUR/CHF The reversal in Wall Street almost did not affect the CHF that continues getting stronger. Many investors see Switzerland as a stable and powerful economy and they feel safer to invest their money in the CHF when the markets are shaking. Therefore, most of the symbols that contain the Swiss currency tend to go with the CHF’s direction. A break-down of the support at 115.0 can take the price down to 114 and below. A break-up at 117 would be negative signal for the CHF against the EUR. GBP/JPY As you can see in the attached chart, this pair has been moving in a channel in the last couple of weeks. Like the other major currencies, the pound shed some points against the USD, and it has more room for correcting down, because of the recent risings. The lower boundary of this channel support the GBP at 127, and a break-down can slide to 125. However, the strong momentum of the pound from the beginning of the week might occur again. In that case, a break-up at 128.5-128.6 would be bullish signal for this pair. Tip: When all currencies are weakening against the USD, you should try to find the weakest one. |
^^^ if i were trading on 1hr frame i would be short by now but close to take profit, so i hoped u were doing that but i am rather waiting for a trigger to go long. , ok i'm waiting for a close on 1h frame above my trendline on EU for a long but if that did not happen yet I'll still wait. happy pipping guys. ![]() |

Good morning guys. US stock markets are still hesitating, as the political parties have not made the necessary compromise yet. The technology sector is leading the markets, and NASDAQ closed positive. S&P 500 has retested the breaking area at 1330 points, and a strong break-down there might trigger sharper declines. EUR/USD The Euro broke the" bull-flag" pattern, which we analyzed yesterday, and gained more than 85 pip. It also broke through the descending trend line, a fact that increases the power of this break-up. The 20 EMA is about to cross above the 50 EMA, and that will be a strong signal that many trader will consider. The next target is at 1.46. It looks like investors are losing their faith in the USD, since the correlation between this pair and Wall Street seems not to exist in recent days. That means that in case of strong plunging in the stock market, the USD will not necessarily get stronger. |
Good morning guys ![]() US stock markets closed yesterday in the red territory on concerns regarding the disagreement between the democrats and republicans. There is just a week before the US will have to declare bankruptcy, and the clock is ticking for the Americans. The ranking agencies are already warming up to massive downgrades, but at this point most of the chances are for a last-minute solution. The indices fell almost 1% in the beginning of the day, but investors saw it as an opportunity for loading their portfolios and NASDAQ broke the annual pick. It was possible to use the gap system that we mention every time that the indices are opening in large gaps. Likewise, there is an open gap from above in the S&P 500 at 1353 points, which might pull the stock markets up. EUR/USD The break-down of the resistance at 1.425, which we analyzed last week, worked very well and produced more than 200 pip. The correction in Wall Street supported the USD and a "Bull-Flag" pattern was created under the resistance at 1.4440. A strong break-up of this pattern can hit 1.46, but this pair is depended on Wall Street and macro data such as new home sales and consumer confidence. |
The contradiction is not in doubt and that was the picture. The next support is in the event of a lift off the current trendline (on daily chart). Your view is however noted because if that trendline is not compromised this week, then the bearish direction is valid technically. |
^^^ The previous week closed in the green zone, as both political parties seem to make a progress on the debt ceiling issue. However, the euphoria in the markets can vanish very quickly if there will not be an agreement and the US will have to declare for bankrupt. This option is not likely to happen but it still exists, so this week is crucial for the financial markets. Let's see.EUR/USD As estimated, Wall Street strikes are supporting the EUR, which completed the reversal pattern. The break-up of the resistance at 1.425 worked perfectly and the EUR jumped over 180 since then. The European currency was blocked by the descending trend line, so this is an important test for the currency if it wants to start a new bullish trend. The facts that the EUR crossed the 20 & 50 EMAs, and the recent lows are getting higher, are positive signals for the EUR. Next support is around 1.457. |

God knows best. I wish her soul a humble rest in the Lord's bossom. A great singer has gone, only 51, sad. |
yes i was expecting the germans to trounce super falcons say 5-0 but when i saw the determination with which our gals were playing i concluded they were mentally and physically prepared. the problem was tactical deficiency. the attackers had no plans, they were always overwhelmed by the german defence. Overall performance for me was great from superfalcons given the tactical 'shortness' of their coach and technical bench, even with the german they hired they could not teach the girls how to take shorts at goal from outside 18. What they need is a better coaching crew and with the kind of determination they have they can beat any female team, my 1-kobo. |
no bi country name or jessy dey playooooo, so i will just watch d match but i wish my super falcons best of luck. naija no dey fall without a fight dat i know well. |
cut NA pay by 40% ?, they must be watched closely now otherwise they will loot more than their predecessors via terrible allowances and bonuses. where is efcc? ![]() |
major trait: i no gree, i must succeed, whether by honesty, hook or crook. |
na only oil companies and some of their contractors fit pay dat kind of money, like shell, chevron/texaco,agip,mobil, etc otherwise i bet you will not make up to 3.5m/yr from employment. if you come home and build estates near one/some of the major cities, yes you could be into a rewarding estate business but if you want to setup plaza, market or just a buying and selling business here na ages before you go reap. make a choice. i dey naija here dey yan. Good luck to you bro. |
