In a bid to undermine the growing protest against his government's removal of
fuel subsidy, President Goodluck Jonathan has ordered the SSS to arrest civil
rights attorney, Femi Falana, Fiery Lagos pastor, Tunde Bakare, ex-member of
house of representatives, Dino Melaye and and Kaduna based activist, Shehu
Sani. Two sources within the State Security Services told Saharareporters that the
security agency had received presidential instructions to move against these four
men as well as other perceived organizers of the resistance against the
government's dramatic increase of the price of fuel. "The presidency has decided that the way to break the protest is to go after
those that the government believed to be the brains organizing the #Occupy
Nigeria protests, " said one of the sources. The protests in the last one week has attracted larger crowds in Lagos, Ibadan,
Kano, Kaduna and several other Nigerian cities to show that the masses reject
President Jonathan's policy to impose further suffering on the Nigerian people. The presidency's instruction to the SSS is seen as desperate move to forestall a
series of massive protests in Kaduna as well well as other northern cities and
towns which promises to beat the Lagos crowd. In addition, the Jonathan administrations has been rattled by swelling crowds
that have attended protest rallies in Lagos and other Nigerian cities.

I was in a similar situation and during my service year, I was fortunate enough to meet a sister much older than I am and who has the same background.We came very close such that we could open up to each other.She's always very happy and cheerful.I asked her the secret behind it and the advice she gave me was that:

I have a life and I have the right to be happy.Whatever has happened between my parents is between them.I have a duty to each of them and under no circumstance should I get myself involved in their problems.The only thing I can do is to pray for both of them.And when I get married, the only thing that will make me happy is to ensure that I fulfill all my duties; never ever should I demand my rights from my husband.I should do all I'm supposed to do and in the event that he does not fulfill hid duties, Allah is always just. BUT I should make sure that I marry someone religious, as adviced by the Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wa sallam). Please think about it.May Allah (subhanahu wa ta'ala) guide us aright.Ameen.

@Lagosboy:There are a lot of factors that keep a woman single for a very long period. Our opinions are nothing as our parents' are always superior. And they have their own opinions. Just pray that Allah guides all muslims aright.

I'm not saying that no woman should feel it.Jealous is part of human nature and sharing a husband is certainly one of the most difficult things to do but regardless of that, if all parties are to seek knowledge regarding the issue, the effect will befelt less by the first wife.

Honestly, I used to think that I cannot marry a married man, but right now I don't mind. I don't mind being a fourth wife.If its my fate, I'll accept it. I can't get away from Allah's plans, can I? May Allah increase our knowledge and guide us aright.Ameen

@Ladies: Please don't hate me but I think I have to agree with the men on this one. Honestly, we women are too selfish.Allah has created men and women differently i.e with different needs and desires.While a woman can be satisfied with one man, a man can hardly be satisfied with a woman. I don't think a man needs a reason to take in another wife. Men have the capacity to love more than one woman at a time. Its amazing how muslim women go to extremes to ensure their men don't re-marry.

I agree that muslim men are unjust but that doesn't mean Islam is. Islam has provided protection for women in cases like this. If your husband is taking a second wife, encourage him to find out Allah's rules and provisions concerning the matter.

Ladies, please don't push your husbands into Zina as Allah will definitely punish you for that.

Actually chakula, I don't think there's a must when it comes to Allah.

Yasin is the heart of the Quran, as for sending salama it is only when you go to his grave in madina and he will answer you 'so so and so may God 's blessing be upon u too'. Sorry i don't have time to dig out any hadith  now

I thought we can send salam on him(SAW) from wherever and the angels convey it to him(SAW). I have also heard about Yasin being the heart of the Qur'an but more research has shown that the hadith is not sahih.

@FayeZik:He just started acting that way since she said she was getting married and things got worse after she got married.And throughout the time, he never showed interest in her returning to him. And no he's not the religious type. He calls me a fanatic simply for observing hijab.

I try explaining to her sometimes she understands and sometimes she just looses it.But Alhamdulillah she's pretty understanding.

@ abuzola: No I'm not saying we'll take him to court. I said its the only option and we don't want to go that lane. Besides, he has no right to curse us over that Islamically. Allah does not allow injustice.
