Johndoe100:

Once again my question is hard work = .5%. Why would anyone care, unless they were excluded from the 99.5%. Ergo an attempt to ignore reality.

How much oil money does an average Nigerian enjoy? 100% of average Nigerians survive by their hard work.

Your Nigerian politicians and now ND militants are the ones enjoying the oil money.
Politics / Re: What Region Contribute The Most In Nigeria In Terms Of Harwork. by nanos: 8:11pm On Apr 17, 2012
Johndoe100: This is a childish attempt to deny the reality on the ground. 85 to 93% of the country's earnings come from oil, 5 to 6.5 percent com from VAT. Are you asking who contributes the .5%? Why would anyone care? Oyel is KING, and we have it.
Servile gratitude is the appropriate response from those who suck at the oyel b. reast.

I am an Igbo and a supporter of 100% resource control. But the truth is that the presence of oil is not indicative of hard work. That is what the op is interested in, no?

emmke: no need for the name calling. I get him now. Btw, foreigners don't see southerners in good light too.
All the good news about Nigeria are generated by southerners, mainly Igbo and Yoruba. No Northerner has generated any good new for Nigeria in the last several years
The bad news are generated by all Nigerians and in recent times more so by the Islamic north.

ibrahimdoc: Please can someone tell me what region in Nigeria that contributes the most to the economy as a result of their handwork, please i don't want someone to come here and tell me oil, because oil is just a natural resources and it is not out of ones effort that oil is found in Niger delta for instance. So please i I'd like your answer in order of sequence according to the geo political zone that contributes the highest. Please i want unbiased responses.

1. Igbo
2. Yoruba
3. Bini and other Edo groups
4. Non-Igbo groups in Delta State
5. Akwa Ibom groups
6. Other southerners (Cross River, Ijaw, Ogoni)
7 Northerners (all combined)

emmke: ^afam, politics, whether in Nigeria, somalia, U S, requires intelligence, so don't kid yourself. Talking about criminality, well that is something both regions have in common so i wouldn't bring that up if i were you. I still maintain that an average northerner is no less intelligent than his/her southern counterpart.

You dare compare politics in Nigeria with that in US? Have you seen where Nigerian politicians argue intelligently in the chamber? What laws have they passed since you know them?

emmke: for starters, there is a good number of northerners in the banking industry and other private sectors. However, the domination of these sectors by southerners does not imply low intelligence on the part of the north. Interest could well be the main reason. Don't forget the north has dominated Nigerian politics for long and we all know that politics requires high level of intelligence. This, at least to me, suggests there are intelligent people from the two regions, albeit with different interests.

Any intellectual midget can be a politician in Nigeria. That is why nothing gets done in governance because most politicians in Nigeria have been dunces with nothing to offer. Incidentally, most have been northerners.

ziccoit: So sad that majority of southerners do not travel beyond their enclave. Majority of commentators on NL too never go out of their locality many have never gone round Lagos state not to mention other SW state which is their region .This does not exclude people from other regions. How do you expect them to be informed about their distant neighbours- Northerners etc

The 100s of 1000s (if not 1000000s) of Igbos that have traveled and lived in the North for many years that you guys have been killing for your religious rituals are not southerners, right?

Then enough of the 'ACN is good'' nonsense. Both are evil and for ACN, a new party, to almost rival PDP in evil, is telling.

The North that southerners know:

1. Good-loving people especially those from Taraba, Nassarawa, Kogi, Adamawa (in part), Gombe, plateau, Bauchi (in part)and other mixed states

2. Extremely evil people from Kano, Borno, Kaduna, Sokoto, and other core Islamic states

The truth is if you place southern and a Northerner head to head with the same opportunity, the southerner wouldnt do better.

This is correct; however the North had all the opportunity to be better than the south and they blew it. How could people who ruled the country no less than 37 of 52 years be poorer for it in a country where clanishness, nepotism and an ''our-own'' mentality reign supreme?

To be candid it wasnt until i began to travel the lenght and breadth of Nigeria that I began to comprehend how truly heterogenous the denizens of this country are. Kudos to the writer of the article.

You must mean Yorubas do not leave their immediate geopolitical zones, right? You could not have said that about Igbos, am sure.

Katsumoto has dealt with this Oil money developed Lagos nonsense so there is no need to go over it again, of course the success of ACN is exaggerated, who will not blow his or her own trumpet, that of Chime and the Akwa Ibom guys are also exaggerated, what any state needs is to have a better governor follow the incumbent, in the case of Lagos, that has been the case (contrast that with FG).

@Beaf

I have explained myself above, Ore mi razists e take e easy oooooooooooo.

What did he deal with? You mean oil money did not develop Lagos? Pray, tell, what money was used to develop Lagos between 1970 and now? Oil money, and so are other states in Nigeria. However, Lagos got a headstart than other states because more oil money was pumped in, being the former capital. All these denials will not take you guys anywhere.

Hephzibah Olajide Taiwo Beulah: ACN guys are liars and unrepentant thieves. U succeeded in deceiving them to vote for you using Lagos as a shining example. The deceived have forgotten that Lagos was a former capital. Go round the south west to see if they've done ANYTHING, except buying the media to propagate their propaganda.
Bola Tinubu,a non indegene, is now popularly called 'EKO' and NOTHING indegenes can do about it. It's a pity!

ACN & TINUBU are bigger fraud than PDP......Lekki Toll-Gate is a good example. Salami was working for ACN,period! One of the Laws of Power says 'A friend of my enemy is my enemy'. Salami should be sacked period. MTN should be fined heavily or made to go on 3 months suspension, that will make them cautious next time and it will serve as deterrence to other network providers. Can yu imagine Pot,calling Kettle,Black....exactly what ACN does!

NOI would be surprisingly naive if after living in the USA for more than 30 years she does not hold a US passport. Had she been an American national/citizen, it would have been a Nigerian-American versus Korean-American contest. That way, Obama would have been forced to go for merit rather than for any American against a bloody outsider.

Lesson of the day: when you are ambitious (one usually knows that they are ambitious from kindergarten), don't leave any stone unturned that you will stumble upon and fall, years later.

You post tribalistic sentiments, then other tribalists follow suit. Yet you're "not" a tribalist, according to your words. Hiding behind politics does not make you less visible.
