Super Falcons forward, Asisat Oshoala fired a hat-trick as Barcelona Femeni defeated Tenerife 6-0 in their Spanish Iberdola clash on Sunday.

Oshoala has now scored nine goals and recorded one assist in her last four league matches for the Blaugrana.

Clàudia Pina opened scoring for Barcelona in the fourth minute after a good pass into the area.

Oshoala was responsible for the next two goals in the seventh and 11 minutes.

The striker got her third and Barcelona’s fourth of the game in the 26th minute.

Barcelona remain on course to successfully defend their title after another dominant display.

Scores injured as APC, PDP thugs clash in Lagos

Scores of persons were injured Friday, in Aiyetoro, Surulere area of Lagos, during a clash between suspected thugs of the All Progressive Party and the Peoples Democratic Party.

A video that went viral on social media revealed that thugs from both sides engaged themselves in a gun battle.

But members of one group overwhelmed the other.

Vehicles were seen hurriedly making U-turns while shop owners hid to avoid being hit by stray bullets.

The impact of the gunshots caused a forced contraction for a pregnant woman identified simply as Chinyere..

A campaign vehicle of one of the parties was seen driving off from the scene.
By the time policemen arrived, the armed thugs had left.

When contacted, the spokesman for the Lagos State Police Command, SP Benjamin Hudenyin, said three persons were injured.

He added that there was no loss of life and that no arrest was made.

LAGOS WILL NEVER CONDONE VIOLENCE

The Lagos State Government has noted the flood of comments sparked by the shocking video of a group of thugs shooting in broad daylight in Surulere.

Security agencies are investigating the video, which has gone viral on the social media. We believe they will fish out and prosecute the evil actors, who are believed to be henchmen of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

We condemn this savagery that has portrayed our state, the safest in Nigeria, in a bad light. That is not who we are; we are civilized and cultured.

Following advice from competent sources, including elders and respectable Lagosians, we will henceforth shun any forum that may require us being together with PDP and its agents of violence.

Consequently, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu regrets to announce that he will not be participating at The Platform Governorship Debate of January 29, 2023.

The Governor holds Pastor Poju Oyemade and the Covenant Christian Church family in high esteem and cherishes future opportunities to engage the congregation and render accounts of his stewardship to them as integral parts of the Lagos electorate.

We will never be found in the company of those to whom the lives of innocent Lagosians mean nothing. Mr Sanwo-Olu won’t share a podium with them.
