Government of Imo State

IMO STATE GOVERNMENT CONDEMNS BRUTAL MURDER OF SOLE ADMINISTRATOR.

The Government of Imo State is saddened by the brutal and cruel murder on Sunday January 22nd, of the Sole Administrator of Ideato North local government, Chris Ahizu.

The chilling assassination of Mr Ahizu in cold blood is as benumbing as it is callous.

This killing falls in line with the targeting of members of the ruling APC, government officials and their friends. Those previously murdered in cold blood include; Hon. Mrs Jenny Rachael Okonkwo (Iron Lady), Orlu APC LGA woman leader, Nze Chidi Ejiaka, Barr. Darlington Odume, Nze Nwachukwu Igboayaka, Mrs Helen Nnakwe, Collins Okey Agah, Chukwudi Dimagwu, Eddy Ofuefule, all APC chieftains from Orlu and many others as well as Emma Mazi, former IMC chairman of Oguta LGA.

It is unfortunate that even those who are quick to shout over insecurity in the state, never found their voices to condemn these cold blooded killings in the past and are not saying anything also on the latest killing.

Be that as it may, Government condemns this cold blooded murder on a Sunday and appeals to the perpetrators of the dastardly act and their sponsors to resist the temptation of going ahead with this blood letting which has plunged the state into the current state of uncertainty.

While Government condoles with the family of the deceased, it has charged the security agencies to leave no stone unturned in finding those behind the killing and bring them to book. In the same vein, government will continue to collaborate with security agencies to ensure the safety of lives and property in the state.

Peter Obi @PeterObi

I condemn the gruesome killing of Christopher Ohizu, the Ideato North LGA chairman. Things like these ought not to happen. Insecurity remains a cause of concern. I commiserate with the IMSG and the family of the deceased. -PO

‘He’s the best’ — Alpha-Beta ex-MD, who accused Tinubu of fraud, endorses him

January 22, 2023. 19:17

Oladapo Apara, former managing director of Alpha-Beta Consulting, has endorsed the presidential bid of Bola Tinubu, candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

In an article published in ThisDay Newspaper, on Sunday, Apara said Tinubu is the “best man” to succeed Muhammadu Buhari as president.

The former Alpha-Beta Consulting MD said he picked Tinubu as the “most suitable” contestant after a “dispassionate assessment” of all the candidates in the presidential race.

In 2020, Apara, who was sacked as the managing director of Alpha Beta Consulting in 2018, accused Tinubu of owning the firm by proxy, which led to his dismissal and withholding of his share profit for the period he worked for the firm.

He also made allegations of money laundering, tax evasion, forgery, and a number of other corporate fraudulent practices against the company and its owners.

In September 2022, Apara withdrew the case from the court after reaching an undisclosed out-of-court settlement with the former Lagos governor.

“My choice of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the best man for the job is based on a dispassionate assessment of his previous public office records and superlative antecedents, all writ large in Lagos state — Africa’s fifth largest economy were it to be a country on its own,” Apara said.

“My pick of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the most suitable candidate for President in 2023 is also informed by a direct experience of the phenomenal Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu having worked with him for over twenty (20) years in various capacities, including at a point in my career when I worked at ALPHA-BETA Consulting, which company I eventually led as managing director/chief executive officer and honourably disengaged from in order to pursue other interests.

“I make bold to say that the great successes we recorded at ALPHA-BETA Consulting, especially the exponential increase in the internally generated revenue (IGR) of all our clients — local and international have everything to do with the capacity and competence of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as a colossus in public revenue generation re-engineering.

“Such was the undeniable results of ALPHA-BETA Consulting as a professional firm that many states in Nigeria across party divides discarded politics to engage ALPHA-BETA Consulting as their IGR consultants, including some West African nations.

“As a humble recipient of a cache of prizes in financial management and intermediation in Nigeria and across the world, I am convinced that at this juncture in our national journey Nigeria needs a president prudent and pragmatic in financial management like Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

“Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is an extraordinary manager of human and material resources. As president, he would fix round pegs in round holes for a rapid socio-economic transformation of Nigeria into the country of our collective dreams.”

He said Tinubu is a “famous and credible name” associated with big businesses on the global stage and as president, Nigerians are poised to see more foreign capital and investment pouring into the country like never before.

Romance › Re: What will you do in this situation PHOTOS by naptu2: 5:07am On Jan 24, 2023
This one went to turn off the TV set at a viewing centre during the Arsenal vs Man-U game. They slapped her and people had to be restrained to prevent them from beating her.

naptu2:
It's actually business. That's all it is, crazy business.

A phenomenom swept YouTube in the late 2000s. A lot of young people in America discovered that they could make a lot of money by shooting pranks and uploading them to their YouTube channels. These prank videos gained millions of views and since YouTube paid advertising revenue to people that had lots of views, these people made a lot of money.

Many of these pranks were extremely dangerous and reckless. Some of these pranksters were actually arrested by the police. One of the most notorious pranksters was a guy called Charles Ross. He was arrested many times and repeatedly ordered by judges to stop creating prank videos on YouTube.

What this person did is one of the most famous pranks of that era. The prankster would fill a clean bottle of bleach or cleaning fluid with water or soft drink and then go to a public place to drink it while filming the reaction of people around the area.

Some other famous pranks include:

Pretending to shoot people.

Pretending to be a prisoner

Pretebding to be a ghost, spirit, zombie or some other scary character

Dressing up dogs to look like lions or tigers.

Pranking people in drive throughs.

Etc.

YouTube recently took action against some of the pranksters by making it difficult for them to make money from their dangerous videos.

The pranking wave has now hit Nigeria. Nigerians are increasingly making these prank videos and a person that goes by the name Crackhead Extra has recently become famous by posting videos that show her going to crowded markets and bus stops and shouting the lyrics of famous songs while acting like a mad person.

This guy was one of the most famous pranksters at the peak of the pranking wave in 2010. His name is Garrett Garcia and the name of his channel is Overboard Humour. He made a lot of money from YouTube back then, but he wasted a lot of it and he was badly hit by the YouTube crackdown (his girlfriend also left him). He is now broke and homeless.

Garrett did the prank in this 2011 video. He went to a supermarket, bought cleaning fluid, switched it with another bottle that he brought from home and then pretended to be drinking the cleaning fluid. (He had already planted the bottle and the camera at that spot before calling the store attendant).

I knew that it couldn't just be an error or because of lack of planning, because it made no sense at all. I have been trying to find the reason since then and I've found it.

Kfed4ril:
What I want to know is if the lithium mining is under the Federal Government or Kaduna state government?
naptu2:
There is a lesson in this thread, but if you search through Twitter and check the thread, you'll notice that many people have not learnt the lesson.

First Lithium Processing Plant In Nigeria Under Construction In Kaduna.
https://www.nairaland.com/7523789/first-lithium-processing-plant-nigeria

This is the lesson:

There are many sectors in Nigeria that are in the exclusive list in the constitution. This means that they are the exclusive preserve of the Federal Government. For a long time many people assumed that this means that state governments cannot get involved in these sectors, but that is not true.

Bola Tinubu constantly demonstrated this when he was governor. There are many things that people assumed were only reserved for the Federal Government, but his government got involved in those things. Power generation, port construction, airport construction, refinery, etc.

You see, all the state government needs to do is to bring in a private/foreign company to invest in the sector and then they need to get a license from the Federal Government. The Federal Government wants to make money and they want development, so they will go along with the project (although in some rare cases they might sabotage the project, just like the AES Barge power project in Lagos).

Some people are asking why the oil in Rivers is for Nigeria while the lithium in Kaduna is for Kaduna. Well, read this article, the chairman of the Kaduna Internal Revenue Service stated clearly that mining is on the exclusive list and the only way that Kaduna State can take part in mining lithium is to set up a mining company and get a license from the Federal Government. Has the Rivers State Government set up an oil company and applied to get mining licenses from the Federal Government?

This issue keeps coming up every time and the answer is always the same. People asked the same question when it was announced that a gold refinery was being established in Osun and the answer then was exactly the same.
