The main reason for the constant power struggle is that somebody that is not in the inner circle is brought in, the person realises how much money is being made and he decides that he can make that money by himself.


Nnamdi Kanu became head of Radio Biafra, he realised how much money Uwazurike was making and he decided that he could also make that money. Ditto for Simon Ekpa.

These "new" people started out believing the Biafra hype and they were shocked when they discovered that it was all about money and power and then they wanted the money and power for themselves.

In some quarters, political analysts and regional stakeholders are raising unanswered questions regarding whether President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, during his time as the national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), covertly provided financial backing to Nnamdi Kanu and the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) to depress Igbo voting strength and secure victory for Muhammadu Buhari over the incumbent, Goodluck Jonathan.

Similarly, you'll hear that Bola Tinubu sponsored Peter Obi in order to depress Atiku Abubakar's votes.

This is the latest incarnation.

And that reminds me, I haven't given you an update.

1) Ralph Uwazurike created the Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) in 1999.

In 2009 Uwazurike funded the creation of Radio Biafra.

2) Uwazurike had a dispute with Nnamdi Kanu (who ran Radio Biafra) and stopped funding it. Lack of funding caused the radio station to shut down. The station was restarted in 2012 and Nnamdi Kanu became the director of the station.

Nnamdi Kanu also created the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) in 2012.

A civil war broke out between supporters of Ralph Uwazurike and supporters of Nnamdi Kanu.

3) Nnamdi Kanu had given instructions that Simon Ekpa should be made the lead broadcaster on Radio Biafra after he was arrested in 2021.

However, the DOS structure that Kanu created sacked Simon Ekpa because he refused to follow instructions. In response Ekpa said that he had sacked the DOS from the Biafra liberation movement. The DOS was led by Chika Edoziem and the commander of ESN was Chinasa Nworu.

Simon Ekpa created his own group which was originally known as the Autopiloters. It later transformed into the Biafra Republic Government in Exile (BRGIE) and Ekpa declared that he was the prime minister of Biafra.

A civil war broke out between supporters of Nnamdi Kanu and supporters of Simon Ekpa.

4) Simon Ekpa was arrested and Ngozi Orabueze, who was the chief of staff and deputy prime minister of BRGIE, declared herself prime minister. Supporters of Simon Ekpa opposed her and Ekpa's lawyer filed a lawsuit against her in the United States. They accused Orabueze of launching a hostile takeover of BRGIE.

A civil war broke out between supporters of Simon Ekpa and supporters of Ngozi Orabueze.

5) Two days ago a group of Biafra supporters announced that they had removed Simon Ekpa and elected Ogechukwu Nkere as their new prime minister. It was the Ogechukwu Nkere group that hired lobyists in the United States to convince the Trump administration that there is a Christian genocide in Nigeria (I posted photos of Nkere meeting with US senators a few days ago).

However, the Ngozi Orabueze faction released a statement that Ogechukwu Nkere had been expelled from BRGIE and that he was not prime minister of Biafra.

There is a civil war between supporters of Ngozi Orabueze and supporters of Ogechukwu Nkere.

At the heart of all of this is a competition for power and for control of donations made by Biafra supporters around the world.

Not necessarily from politics, at the time he declared those assets, he wasn't a big politician. His father was a successful business man and they even had a bank then(societe general bank) and other businesses, so you see he has been rich before politics through his father's enterprise and this is not absolving him of embezzling money when he was governor.

My medical practice gave me all my money and I come from a very rich family. You can go to Agbaji and ask and they will tell you that Saraki is 'a ya won lowo toke toke' (he who lends people money with the carrier bag). When I left government, I contested election and lost. When I went to my father, he gave me £10,000 to set up my private practice after I refused to hearken to the voice of some people who were persuading me to go back to government. My father was a very rich trader. I went to him and told him I needed money to set up about five clinics in Lagos.'


'I had a thriving medical practice then and I still have even up till today. My income was about £500,000 per annum at that time. I had a very successful medical practice. I was looking after companies and private clients. I did not have any hospital where I admitted patients but 99 per cent of my jobs then were on retainership. I was retained by companies to look after their employees and family members. If I was making as much as £500,000 per annum as at 1962 then, definitely, it was quite a lot of money.

On the fall of Societe General Bank

'My bank, SGBN was targeted, but they couldn't find anything against us. They said we should increase our capital base to N25bn or merge with another bank. We were running to do that and suddenly, we were told that we were too late and they dropped us. But because it was a wrong thing, we went to court and we won the case and our licence was restored. Now we are trying to re-organise the bank. I feel sorry for Nuhu Ribadu (former Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission) because he is a young man who has no understanding of what is happening in the world. Otherwise, how could he have listened to former President Olusegun Obasanjo and allow him to use him (Ribadu) to do all that he did? Yes, he wanted to fight corruption, but the way he went about it was too personal.'

All the 5 people in that first picture had wealthy parents/ancestors from whom they inherited money, connections and opportunities.

Femi Otedola (Chairman of First Bank), Aliko Dangote (President of Dangote Group), Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki (former Senate President and governor of Kwara State), Abdulsamad Rabiu (Chairman of BUA Group) and Kashim Bukar Shettima (Chairman of Barbedos Group).

The Oloye Olusola Saraki (Bukola Saraki's father) was a member of what I call the Donation Circuit. This is a group of the wealthiest men in Nigeria in the 1980s. They donated huge sums of money to universities, schools, at book launches and to charity.

My sister attended one of such events in the late 1980s and she said that Saraki's wife attended in a 6-door Mercedes Benz 500SEL (W126) limousine.

He was the founder of Societe General Bank in Nigeria, he owned real estate everywhere, etc.

I have the asset declaration that was mentioned above. Bukola Saraki declared his 15 cars (including a Ferari) in that declaration (that was before he became a governor).

However, I don't want to write much. There's an old interview that Olusola Saraki gave before his death and he told his life story in that interview. I thought I posted it on Nairaland, but I'll find it again and post it here.

Otedola believed that it was Dangote that used Sayyu to outbid him.

Furthermore, Forte Oil shares suddenly tanked and Otedola believed that Dangote was behind this, so they had a falling out.

@yunusatanko, why does your son continue to harass and target me with repeated defamatory statements? Why can’t you and your son engage in a fair and transparent political process?

It is quite revealing that in his recent post, despite the issues at hand, he chose to focus on fundraising and financial matters. This only reinforces concerns that his primary interest has always been money and personal gain rather than service, leadership or the advancement of any political party he has ever been a part of..

This is not the first time such concerns have been raised. Similar allegations and questions emerged when he reportedly sold his ticket to an opposition party years ago, an action that many viewed as a betrayal of the trust placed in him by supporters and party members.

This raises an important question - is this the quality of leadership that members of the NDC should expect? A true leader should embody integrity, accountability, transparency and commitment to the people. Instead, your sons actions @YunusaTanko continue to create division, controversy, and distrust. From my perspective, he appears more focused on personal financial interests than on the values and principles that should guide anyone seeking public office.

The same conduct and reputation that followed him in the past may also explain why he was unable or unwilling to seek the blessings, support and advice of the ward chairmen within his constituency.

Leaders who command trust and respect usually have no difficulty engaging with grassroots stakeholders and seeking their guidance. When such relationships are absent, it is reasonable for people to ask why.

I would also like an explanation regarding a matter that raises serious concerns about privacy and confidentiality. @YunusaTanko How was your son able to obtain my maiden name, which is private personal information? That information appears on credentials and documents that were submitted exclusively to the NDC party office in kaduna. It was not publicly available, nor was it shared with him by me. Yet he has now used it publicly.

This raises important questions that deserve answers such as Who provided him with that information? How did he gain access to documents that were meant to remain confidential within the party’s administrative processes? Was there a breach of trust, confidentiality, or data protection within the party structure in kaduna?

Members and aspirants have a right to expect that personal information submitted to the party will be handled responsibly and not be disclosed or used for harassment, intimidation or political attacks.

I therefore call for a clear and transparent explanation regarding both the continued defamatory attacks and the apparent access to my private information. Accountability, fairness, and respect for members rights must remain fundamental principles of any political organization that claims to stand for justice and democratic values.

This phone conversation was recorded on 19 June 2026 when I contacted the Kaduna State NDC Chairman, Mr. Mordecai Ibrahim, yet again to request my nomination form after several unsuccessful attempts.

@yunusatanko, are you prepared to explain to Nigerians, members of the Obidient / kwankwaaiyya Movement and all advocates of democracy why you and those working with you appear determined to deny me what I legitimately earned through a transparent and democratic process?

The people of Kawo Constituency exercised their democratic right and made their choice known through the ballot. Any attempt to alter, suppress or manipulate the outcome of that process would not only undermine the principles of democracy but also betray the trust and confidence that party members and supporters have placed in the leadership of the NDC movement.

I have remained patient and respectful throughout this process, yet I continue to face unnecessary obstacles in obtaining my nomination form despite emerging victorious in the primary election. This raises serious questions that deserve answers.

Let it be known that any effort to deprive me of my mandate amounts to an infringement on my constitutional and democratic rights. It would also send a dangerous message that the sacrifices, hard work and votes of party members can simply be disregarded when they do not align with the interests of a select few.

This statement serves as a public call for transparency, fairness and accountability. I urge all those involved in this fraudulent act of stealing mandates to respect the outcome of the Kawo Constituency primary election in Kaduna State and to refrain from any action that could compromise the integrity of the process.

The mandate belongs to the people and the will of the people must prevail.

@yunusatanko, I urge you to respect the will of the people and refrain from any attempt to tamper with the election results.

Stop holding closed door meetings with party executives at the National Secretariat regarding the Kawo Constituency results.

At this critical moment, I hope you @YunusaTanko will choose to do what is right and uphold the principles of fairness, justice, transparency and accountability that the NDC @NigeriaNDCHQ @iamHSDickson the Obidient Movement @PeterObi , and the Kwankwasiyya Movement @KwankwasoRM stand for. These movements were built on the promise of giving power back to the people and respecting democratic processes not undermining them.

I also call on the Kaduna State NDC Chairman Mordecai Ibrahim to stand firmly on the side of truth and justice. Leadership requires courage, independence, and integrity. No individual should be treated as a puppet or pressured into compromising the democratic wishes of party members.

Let it be clear that I am not asking for special treatment, favors or sympathy. I am demanding what I rightfully earned through a transparent democratic process. This mandate was not handed to me, it was won through hard work, sacrifice, commitment, countless days and nights of dedication. I invested my time, energy, blood, sweat and resources in this journey because I believed in the democratic values our party NDC professes.

The people in kaduna north have spoken and their voices must not be silenced. I will continue to stand firmly in defense of my mandate and the integrity of the electoral process.

In Kaduna North LGA, only 2 females emerged from NDC’s selection process. Myself for kaduna state house of assembly and the lady who emerged unopposed for House of Representatives. I paid for EOI forms, did the work and met every competence standard.

His excellency @PeterObi @KwankwasoRM and NDC @NigeriaNDCHQ stand for merit and inclusion and capacity over connection. But when selection committee members and the coordinator of the obidient movement push family names while women are filtered out before merit is tested, the principle dies in practice.

Women make up over half of voters in Kaduna North. They organize, they mobilize, they win when given the ticket. Excluding them isn’t just wrong, it’s poor strategy. I believed NDC would judge us on competence and commitment. If the committee cannot run a neutral process that gives men and women the same shot, I urge you @YunusaTanko to step aside.

Let Kaduna North pick the strongest candidate on merit, not name or gender. Obidients and kwankwasiyyas in Kaduna North expect the party to live its values.

@YunusaTanko As a member of the NDC selection committee and coordinator of the obidient movement ,you have a duty to be neutral, yet you’re openly pushing your son’s name for the ticket again. That is clear conflict of interest and it betrays the very principles of his excellency @PeterObi stands for which is merit, transparency, and leadership based on competence, not dynasty politics.

I was the first to purchase the NDC Expression of Interest form in the whole of kaduna state because I believed in the party and its ideals. I followed due process, I paid my dues and I committed my time believing loyalty and hard work would count. Now to see committee members and the obidient coordinator himself try to bypass that process for family ties is discouraging to every loyal member who joined NDC @NigeriaNDCHQ because we wanted a new Nigeria free of father-to-son politics.

Your son has contested twice already and failed to deliver the seat, while his excellency @PeterObi @KwankwasoRM taught us to pick winners, not sentiments. Handing him a third ticket tells every committed member that connections matter more than competence and that is how parties lose elections and lose their base.

If you @YunusaTanko cannot separate family interest from party duty, then recuse yourself from the selection process and coordinator obidient movement, let unbiased people decide on who is truly strongest to defeat the ruling party. Obidients and NDC loyalists are watching, and we expect fairness, not family preference.
