Dear ADC,

Aregbesola fit visit Tinubu last minute

Amaechi no fit even win even Wike’s Rivers State

Obi is the only REAL opposition in the day and opposition in the night.

Atiku, Amaechi, Aregbesola, David Mark, Emeka Ihedioha have all resigned from their respective politically parties and joined the ADC. They have gone to their respective states mobilising. Obi that hasn't taken any decision, you want them to hand him the ticket. Keep playing.

Theo Abu @TheoAbuAgada

The Late President Muhammadu Buhari, even with his then cult-like followership, fought hard for the APC ticket in 2014.

President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu fought for the APC ticket In 2022.

Atiku Abubakar, despite Wike’s financial advantage going into the primaries, fought for the PDP ticket in 2022.

But Temu Messiah wants the coalition ticket to be handed to him on the platter.

A supposed democrat who hates the democratic process.

PoliticsADC: Obi Will Get Votes - Sam Amadi by naptu2(op): 6:44am On Dec 13, 2025
Several members of the ADC coalition have complained that other leaders of the coalition are mobilising support for ADC, but Peter Obi is yet to start mobilising support for the party.

Prince Henry Nwazuruahu Shield was a long term PDP supporter before he started supporting the ADC coalition.

Hon Henry Shield @HonShield

Atiku, Elrufai, Malami, Babachir Lawal are all locking down different parts of the North for the ADC. Aregbesola is raising the momentum in the SW. Amaechi is raising it in the SS.

SE nko? Everywhere silent. No one is mobilizing or raising awareness for the party in the Zone.

Dr. Sam Amadi is a former chairman of the National Electricity Regulatory Commission (he was appointed by President Goodluck Jonathan). He is a supporter of Mr Peter Obi. He was quoting a post about Peter Obi's visit to the College of Nursing Sciences in Imo State.

Sam Amadi @SamAmadi

People say "Oh Mr. A is in Zamfara & Mr. B is in Ogun mobilizing for ADC and PO is not doing anythjng" and i laugh.

Is it not votes we are looking for? How else to get votes than charming voters? Campaign goes beyond visiting potentates.

Godson Brume 🇳🇬 pleads guilty to federal firearm possession!!

Godson Brume, the 4th fastest Nigerian man ever, has pled guilty to unlawful possession of a firearm while in the United States on a non-immigrant visa.

The incident took place in February 2025 in Baton Rouge. Brume was in his apartment with another young woman when his ex-girlfriend and mother of his infant child, arrived with the baby. An argument broke out outside the apartment, during which Brume discharged a Glock 43X pistol while the baby was present.

Later, his ex-girlfriend opened the apartment door, saw Brume and the other woman, and a second argument ensued, spilling outside again. Brume discharged the firearm multiple times as the mother of his child fled. Multiple bullet strikes were observed in the apartment complex walls.

Brume also smashed her phone, took the child, and discarded the firearm in nearby shrubs before deputies detained him. He now faces up to 15 years in prison, a $250,000 fine, up to 3 years of supervised release, and possible deportation.

PoliticsAdelabu Petitions DSS Over Primate Ayodele’s ₦150m Demand For ‘Spiritual Help" by naptu2(op): 1:06pm On Dec 12, 2025
EXCLUSIVE: Bayo Adelabu petitions DSS over Primate Ayodele’s N150m demand for ‘spiritual intercession’

by Taiwo Adebulu
December 12, 2025

Bayo Adelabu, minister of power, has accused Primate Elijah Ayodele, founder and head of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Oke Afa, Lagos, of blackmail and attempting to extort N150 million from him for “spiritual intercession” to make him governor of Oyo state.

Adelabu, a former governorship candidate, has declared his intention to contest the 2027 Oyo governorship election.

In a petition dated October 13, 2025, signed by Bolaji Tunji, the minister’s special adviser on strategic communications and media relations, to the director-general of the Department of State Services (DSS), Adelabu accused Ayodele of making false prophecies intended to malign his reputation after he rebuffed all efforts from the cleric, who allegedly demanded a huge sum of money and expensive spiritual items.

’IT’S AN INSTRUCTION FROM GOD’

In a series of text messages between Ayodele and Adelabu, seen by TheCable, the cleric asked the minister to bring 24 APC flags for prayers. The cleric also demanded 1,000 pieces of saxophones/trumpets, with the least expensive Nigerian fairly-used grade costing a total of N50 million and the imported grade-one from China at N130 million in total.

Ayodele asked Adelabu to bring the items by April 1. He later extended the grace till April 4.

“Sir, I don’t do this, but because of the love I have for you,” the primate wrote.

The cleric told the minister that he had sent him several letters while he was CBN deputy governor and other times to the minister in Ibadan, but there was no reply. He repeatedly made requests to call the minister, who told him he was on pilgrimage. Ayodele asked him to “recite almu nasira 200 times”.

Ayodele was probably referring to the Alam Nashrah in the 94th chapter of the Quran — a prayer for divine support, relief from hardship, and spiritual expansion for Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and believers, reassuring that ease follows difficulty.

The cleric told the minister that what he was doing was based on instruction given to him by God. Ayodele repeatedly told the minister that he would rule Oyo state.

”I have divine advice for you sir, which can help a lot sir, kindly pick my call,” a part of the text message read.

”Do vigil and the angel of God is coming to hear request by 1am…I don’t want you to lose the coming election. That is why I’m following the instructions.”

In response, the minister told the cleric that he could not afford the expensive items.

After the incident, Ayodele, while speaking in his church, said Adelabu had failed and would not become Oyo governor.

In some video clips seen by TheCable, Ayodele said Adelabu had made mistakes and his message to the minister was a “warning from God”.

The cleric dared the minister to arrest or sue him.

ADELABU: MY POLITICAL AMBITION DRIVEN BY GENUINE SERVICE, NOT BY SPIRITUAL MANIPULATION

In the petition to the DSS, Adelabu said he rejected Ayodele’s requests because he believes his ambition is driven by genuine service and not by spiritual manipulation or fetish practices.

The minister asked the DSS to investigate Ayodele and compel him to retract his “false prophecies” and apologise.

“I write to formally draw the attention of the Department of State Services (DSS) to the extortive, deceitful, and inciting activities of one self-acclaimed pastor known as Primate Elijah Ayodele, of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, whose actions have become not only personally distressing to the Honourable Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, but also capable of disturbing public peace and undermining the integrity of the political process in Oyo State,” the petition reads.

“Since his tenure as the Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and particularly in the period leading up to his current aspiration to serve as the Governor of Oyo State, this individual had persistently approached him with unsolicited offers of “spiritual intercession” purportedly to guarantee electoral success.

“Under this guise, he had on several occasions demanded huge sums of money and expensive spiritual items, cumulatively amounting to over N150 million (one hundred and fifty million naira), as purported prerequisites for divine favour. The minister had consistently declined his requests, believing that his political ambition is driven by genuine service to the people and not by any spiritual manipulation or fetish practice.

“Following the Honourable Minister’s refusal to accede to his extortionate demands, Primate Ayodele has embarked on a campaign of malicious and false prophecies targeted at discrediting him publicly. He has gone as far as declaring through various media channels that ‘God told him he will not win the election’ and has recently made more provocative and inciting statements suggesting that he would fail because of his association with the ‘Èmi Lòkan’ slogan (“It’s my turn”).

“As a Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, he had previously chosen to ignore his antics to avoid unnecessary public confrontation with a religious figure. However, Primate Ayodele’s continued propagation of these false prophecies, which are evidently retaliatory and malicious in nature, now pose a threat not only to the minister’s reputation but also to public order and confidence in the democratic process.

“I therefore urge the Department of State Services to kindly investigate the activities of the said Pastor Ayodele for extortion, blackmail, and deliberate dissemination of false and inciting information; compel him to retract his false prophecies and issue a formal written apology; and bring him under the force of the law, in accordance with relevant provisions of the Nigerian Constitution and Criminal Code, to deter similar fraudulent religious practices in the future.”

The minister also petitioned the Oyo state commissioner of police over the cleric’s “extortive and inciting activities”.

PRIMATE AYODELE: I DIDN’T ATTEMPT TO EXTORT ADELABU

In a phone conversation with TheCable, Ayodele said Adelabu was the one who approached him first. He said Adelabu sent emissaries to him because he was desperate to become Oyo governor.

“I didn’t blackmail him. We didn’t have any transaction. Again, no money was exchanged between us,” the cleric said.

“I discussed some terms with him, which he didn’t agree with. I didn’t make any attempt to extort him. I can sell my services for any amount. I can value it at N1 billion as much as I provide the value he wants. It’s nobody’s business. Why did you come to me in the first place if you didn’t believe in me? What are you doing with someone you claim is dishing out fake prophesies? He should say anything he likes.

“I’m big. I’m not poor. I take care of vulnerable people. I’m blessed in the Lord.”

Bill Gates said that he and Aliko would be moving around Lagos, where the traffic jams give you a lot of time to talk and he'll be showing Aliko (from his charts) that, for example, Sokoto has a pretty low vaccination rate and Aliko would bring out his phone and call the governor. He seemed to know everybody in Nigeria.

Mr Gates said that, whereas he is shy and would prefer to send an email, Aliko would easily bring out his phone to call anyone they needed to call.

Dangote donates N2 billion all inclusive 200 housing units to Boko Haram victims

by Press Release June 18, 2018

Barley two weeks after donating 150 cars to the Nigeria Police, in yet another philanthropic gesture, the Aliko Dangote Foundation Monday, launched the Dangote village built for the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Maiduguri, Borno State capital.

The Dangote village in Maiduguri is a self sufficient set of 200 housing units worth N2 billion, with school, hospital, irrigation farms and poultry farms among others, to enable the occupants eke livelyhood. Dangote also gave each of the beneficiaries N100,000 to start a new life.

Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, chairman of the Aliko Dangote Foundation, Aliko Dangote said about N7 billion has been donated to support displaced persons affected by the Boko Haram crisis in the North-east.

Aside the N100,000 to start a new life, Dangote also pledged that the Foundation will take care of teachers’ emolument for five years and as well share in the burden of the ongoing educational revolution launched by the state governor.

Mr Dangote commended the governor, Kashim Shettima, saying he is able to run the state efficiently and pay salaries despite the security challenges.

A visibly elated Mr Shettima said the intervention was unprecedented and gargantuan by a single company, describing the Aliko Dangote Foundation as the fourth arm of government in the state.

Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, Mr Shettima reminded that the Dangote Group is the single largest employer of labour outside government in Nigeria.

“In every clime and in every dispensation, there are three layers of governments: the executive, the legislature and the judiciary. I dear to add that the fourth layer in Borno State is the Aliko Dangote Foundation. For the past seven years the Foundation has been consistent and hearkening to the yearnings and aspirations of people of the state,” the governor said.

He said the Dangote Village provided by the Foundation, though very massive, is a ‘tip of the iceberg’ compared to what the Foundation has done to support humanitarian relief in the troubled region.

“When Aliko Dangote came in 2016, he quickly pledged N2billion. We requested that half of the money should be used to supplying building materials and lo and behold within the span of two weeks all the materials were ready,” he added.

He said it was the support from the Foundation that enabled most of the displaced and malnourished victims of Boko Haram insurgency to survive.
According to the governor, it was crucial to acknowledge the generosity of Aliko Dangote, adding that as far as he was concerned Mr. Dangote is the world’s biggest philanthropist.

He revealed that most of the beneficiaries are widows and children.
“We call it Dangote village because it is a self-sustaining community with their own schools, clinics, mosques and livelihood,” he added.

He thanked all the donors, and added that Borno State is now opened for investors, saying it is more peaceful than Lagos and Abuja.

Speaking also, Baba Umara said 95 per cent of the beneficiaries were widows whose husbands were killed by the Boko Haram terrorists.

Mr Umara, a professor, is the chairman of the distribution committee for the new Dangote village.

He said the criterion for allocating a flat to the beneficiaries is to be a widow and having no fewer than five children.

While commending the president of the Dangote Group, he said the reconstruction effort was now on and that the infrastructural deficit was still huge.

He said the EU, UN and World Bank had estimated that the infrastructural deficit caused by the insurgency in Borno alone was around $6.9 billion.

He expressed optimism that with the kind of support from the likes of Aliko Dangote Foundation, the state will bounce back to normal before the year 2020.

In her remarks, the chairperson of the State Emergency Management Agency,Ya Bawa Kolo, expressed appreciation to the Foundation on behalf of the Internally Displaced Persons.

While commending the Foundation, she assured that only deserving persons are beneficiaries.

Ten beneficiaries were selected for symbolic presentation of certificates of occupancy.

Speaking, Managing Director/CEO of Aliko Dangote Foundation, Zouera Youssoufou, said the foundation would not rest on its oars to support the victims of insurgency.

Ms Youssoufou said during Ramadan food items were distributed to the IDPs. These include rice, sugar, salt, spaghetti, semolina, wheat meal, maize and millet.

She said the philanthropic exercise was meant to complement the effort of both the state and the federal government.

“We are supporting government reconstruction and rehabilitation effort,” she said.

Hajara Ibrahim, 26, a widow, who is also one of the beneficiaries, commended Mr. Dangote, adding that since her husband, Sani Abubakar, was killed a year ago by the Boko Haram terrorists, it has been very difficult to cater for the needs of her three children and six orphans.

Another beneficiary, Yagana MAdamu, 39, said the new village provided by Dangote will help her and her seven children start life again.

The husbands of the two women were both members of the Multi National Joint Task Force(MJTF).

After the ceremony, the governor, Mr. Dangote and their entourage toured the 200 housing units to assess the facilities.

Dangote unveils N1trn scholarship scheme for 1.3m Nigerian students

…as FG hails initiative as bold, transformative

Aliko Dangote, Chairman of the Aliko Dangote Foundation (ADF) and the President of Dangote Group, has announced a N1 trillion scholarship programme to expand access to education and promote academic excellence across Nigeria. Starting in 2026, the initiative will support over 1.3 million students from all 774 Local Government Areas, with N100 billion committed annually for 10 years.

The programme targets Nigeria’s most vulnerable learners and is structured into three categories: Aliko Dangote STEM Scholars – 30,000 undergraduates in public universities and polytechnics will receive tuition support of up to N600,000 per year; Aliko Dangote Technical Scholars – 5,000 TVET trainees will get essential study materials and technical tools; MHF Dangote Secondary School Girls Scholars – 10,000 girls in public schools will receive uniforms, books, and learning supplies, prioritizing states with high out-of-school rates.

To be Implemented in partnership with NELFUND, JAMB, NIMC, NUC, NBTE, WAEC, and NECO, the scheme will use a merit-based, fully digital system for selection and disbursement. Dangote emphasised that this is a strategic investment in human capital, aimed at reducing inequality and driving national development.

The initiative aligns with government education reforms and will be overseen by a Programme Steering Committee chaired by Emir of Lafia, Justice Sidi Dauda Bage. Dangote pledged 25% of his wealth to sustain the programme, with progress reviewed under Dangote Group’s Vision 2030 strategy.

The programmes is to be implemented through strong collaboration with national institutions including NELFUND, JAMB, NIMC, NUC, NBTE, WAEC, and NECO, ensuring transparent beneficiary selection, verification, and efficient digital disbursement. Heads of all the agencies were present at the launch.

Dangote said the intervention is aimed at Nigeria’s most vulnerable learners, noting that financial hardship, not lack of talent, is the primary reason many drop out of school.

“This is not only charity. This is a strategic investment in Nigeria’s future. Every child we keep in school strengthens our economy. Every student we support reduces inequality. Every scholar we empower becomes a future contributor to national development,” he said. “Our young people are not asking for handouts. They are asking for opportunities. They are asking for a chance to learn, to grow, to compete and to succeed. And we believe they deserve that chance.”

Dangote, who said the ADF which has historically focused on health and nutrition as core areas of human capital development emphasized that the current economic climate has made educational support an urgent imperative.

He said, “No young person should have their future cut short because of financial hardship. We are stepping forward to ensure students stay in school and pursue their ambitions. This initiative is more than financial aid—it is an investment in human capital, with ripple effects on economies, societies, and future generations. When a student gets a scholarship, entire communities stand to benefit.”

He described education as “the foundation on which every prosperous society is built”, calling it the most powerful equaliser and the strongest engine of social mobility. Despite this, he warned that many talented Nigerian students continue to face financial pressures that threaten to push them out of school. Their dreams, he said, are limited not by ability but by opportunity. “We cannot allow financial hardship to silence the dreams of our young people — not when the future of our nation depends on their skills, resilience and leadership,” Dangote said.

Noting that this concern informed the Foundation’s new Education Support Initiative, Dangote stressed that the effort is intended as a starting point rather than a standalone solution. “A single organization cannot solve Nigeria’s education challenges alone,” he said. “Government has a role. The private sector has a role. Communities and families have a role. When we work together, we can transform education — and with it, transform Nigeria’s future.”

Addressing young Nigerians directly, Dangote said: “your dreams matter. Your education matters. Your future matters. We believe in you. We are investing in you. And we are committed to ensuring that you do not walk this journey alone.”

The Foundation, he said, will use a merit-based and fully digital system for verification, disbursement and monitoring, working in partnership with NELFUND, JAMB, NIMC, NUC, NBTE, WAEC and NECO. Dangote said the focus will be on measurable outcomes including retention, completion rates and post-school impact. He noted that the vision behind the initiative is to give every deserving child the chance to learn — unfettered by cost, free to dream, and equipped to achieve.

To oversee implementation, a Programme Steering Committee has been constituted, chaired by His Highness Justice Sidi Dauda Bage, Emir of Lafia. Other members include former vice-chancellors, senior education administrators, technical advisors and representatives of the Dangote family.

Dangote also disclosed that the programme’s long-term sustainability is tied to his formal commitment to allocate 25% of his wealth to the Aliko Dangote Foundation, adding that the progress on the initiative will be reviewed in 2030 as part of Dangote Group’s Vision 2030 strategy.

He commended President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda in the education sector, alongside the Federal Ministry of Education, SUBEBs and State Governments, for “deliberate and steady efforts” to support learners amid economic pressures.

Vice President Kashim Shettima, who lauded Dangote for his vision in business and national development, said the new intervention demonstrates the critical role of private-sector actors in national development. He noted that Nigeria’s demographic growth makes urgent investment in education indispensable, warning that “a population becomes a liability only when it is uneducated.”

“Alhaji Aliko Dangote, through his far-reaching philanthropy, has set in motion the single largest private-sector education support intervention in the history of this country,” Shettima said. “What he has done here today is a lesson to each of us. This is nation-building in its purest form.”

Shettima highlighted ongoing reforms under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, including the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), strengthened basic education infrastructure through UBEC, expanded TETFUND interventions and accelerated technical and vocational programmes.

He said these reforms aim to improve Nigeria’s poor Human Capital Index ranking and prepare young people for a skills-driven global economy. Describing Dangote’s philanthropy as “structural and long term,” Shettima said the initiative aligns strongly with the government’s priority of expanding equitable access to education.

“No nation surpasses the aspirations of its most committed patriots,” he said. “The legacy of Alhaji Aliko Dangote reminds us that greatness is not measured by wealth but by the number of lives one lifts from the shadows into the light.”

The Vice President added that the Aliko Dangote Foundation programme would widen opportunities for thousands of learners and bolster the FG’s efforts to build a competitive workforce. He called for stronger collaboration between government, the private sector and development partners to address persistent gaps in the education system.

In his presentation, Tunji Alausa, Education Minister, described the initiative as “pure human capital development,” saying it aligns with the Tinubu administration’s education sector renewal plan of transforming Nigeria from resource-based economy to a knowledge-based economy and is significant because every local government area will benefit.

He said by the end of the first decade of the execution of the scholarship programme, it is estimated that over 170,000 girl children would have gone to school.

Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, speaking on behalf of the 36 State governors, also commended the initiative and pledged the governors’ full support.

Chairman of the Programme Steering Committee, His Highness Justice Sidi Dauda Bage, Emir of Lafia, said the scheme is unprecedented and praised Dangote’s patriotism in reinvesting his wealth to uplift other Nigerians.

The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, said Dangote’s impact in driving private-sector transformation remains unmatched, describing the new initiative as both transformational and a strategic investment in Nigeria’s future.

CARY, N.C. (Dec. 10, 2025) — The North Carolina Courage have signed Nigerian national team forward Chioma Okafor to a three-year, guaranteed contract through the 2028 NWSL season, with a club option for 2029, the club announced today.

Okafor won the 2024 Women’s African Cup of Nations with Nigeria, the country’s record 10th title. She signed her first professional contract with the Courage after finishing her collegiate career at the University of Connecticut, where she scored 30 goals and added five assists in 57 appearances across four years.

“I am excited to call North Carolina home and sign with the Courage. From the early conversations with the team, I fell in love with the developmental plan they laid out for me and the drive to build back this club’s championship roots. I can’t wait to get to work in 2026,” Okafor said.

“We’re excited to welcome Chioma Okafor to the North Carolina Courage. Chioma is a dynamic, fearless attacker whose pace, power, and willingness to take on defenders bring dimensions we’ve been looking to add to our front line. Beyond her on-field qualities, Chioma brings a competitive edge and a growth mindset that fits the culture we’re building. She works, she listens, and she’s hungry to develop. We’re delighted Chioma is joining the Courage, and we’re looking forward to integrating her into our squad,” said Courage Chief Soccer Officer Ceri Bowley.
