As it is now, the outgoing coas will go and take over as the cds. As the coas wear his 3 star, the cds go wear 4 stars.
He has already taken over.

“A TREMENDOUS PRIVILEGE, A SOLEMN DUTY”: AVM SK ANEKE TAKES OVER AS 23RD CHIEF OF THE AIR STAFF

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) on 30 October 2025 witnessed a landmark transition of leadership as Air Vice Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke officially assumed duty as the 23rd Chief of the Air Staff (CAS).

In his inaugural address, AVM Aneke described his appointment as “a tremendous privilege and a solemn duty,” pledging to lead with humility, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to national security.

He paid glowing tribute to his predecessor, Air Marshal Hasan Bala Abubakar, for his exceptional leadership, professionalism, and courage, especially in steering the NAF through a defining phase in the fight against terrorism.

The new Air Chief also commended the outgoing leader’s legacy of excellence and service to the nation, promising to consolidate on the solid foundation already laid.

In his valedictory remarks, Air Marshal Abubakar expressed gratitude to Almighty God for the privilege of serving the nation and leading the NAF through an era of transformation. He recounted major milestones, including enhanced operational efficiency, improved capacity building, and Nigeria’s assumption of the Chairmanship of the Association of African Air Forces.

While describing AVM Aneke as an officer of proven integrity, dedication, and competence, he urged him to sustain the gains recorded, uphold personnel welfare, and maintain a combat-ready, people-focused Air Force.

He also paid tribute to fallen heroes and expressed appreciation to the President, Armed Forces leadership, colleagues, and family for their support throughout his service.

In his acceptance speech, AVM Aneke reaffirmed his deep gratitude to the President and Commander-in-Chief, His Excellency Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for the confidence reposed in him, reiterating the NAF’s “unflinching loyalty to the President, the Constitution, and the Nigerian people.”

He pledged to strengthen inter-service synergy, enhance force readiness, and deliver the security architecture vital to Nigeria’s peace, progress, and transformation.

He also appreciated the Tenth National Assembly, colleagues across the Armed Forces, and his family for their support.

With the transition complete, the Nigerian Air Force begins a new era under AVM Aneke’s leadership, one defined by discipline, innovation, and mission focus, as the Service remains Willing, Able, and Ready to defend Nigeria’s airspace and uphold national pride.

The Nigerian Army today witnessed a seamless transition of leadership as Major General Waidi Shaibu formally assumed duty as the 25th Chief of Army Staff (COAS), following the colourful handing and taking over ceremony between the COAS, Major General Waidi Shaibu and the incoming Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede, at the Army Headquarters, Abuja.

In his remarks, the new COAS, Major General Waidi Shaibu, commended Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede for his outstanding leadership, mentorship and unwavering support to the Nigerian Army. He lauded the outgoing Chief’s achievements, particularly in the areas of equipment procurement, infrastructural development and the “Soldier First” concept, which prioritized troop welfare and operational readiness.

Major General Shaibu pledged to consolidate and build on the remarkable legacies of his predecessor, while enhancing synergy among security agencies and government institutions to strengthen national security. He further assured that he would carefully review the current security situation and respond swiftly to evolving threats, emphasizing his commitment to improving operational efficiency and troop morale.

“I salute the courage, passion, resilience and discipline of our troops in the field. Their sacrifices remain the cornerstone of our collective success,” the new Army Chief stated.

While appreciating the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces of Nigeria, His Excellency President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR for finding him worthy of the position, the COAS led the NA senior officers in observing one minute silence for the repose of the souls of departed comrades.

In his valedictory address, the outgone COAS and incoming CDS,  Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede, expressed profound appreciation to the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, His Excellency Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for his visionary leadership and for the privilege to serve as COAS and now as CDS.

Osasu Obayiuwana @osasuo

An excerpt from my 60-minute exclusive with @NGSuper_Falcons head coach Justine Madugu, on Tuesday, in Abeokuta, Nigeria.

Me: I have to be very honest with you and say that the exclusion of @GiftMonday21 from your team, I don't understand it. For somebody who is one of the top players in the @NWSL at the moment, I do not see how she cannot, even if she is not in your first 11, not be in your squad. She was not in your squad for the #WAFCON. I don’t understand that…

Madugu: Thank you for your question. You know, it's all about the interests of the country. Everybody is passionate about the country doing well. So whatever you see, that you think should, you know, assist in making the team better, in the interests of the country, I welcome every suggestion that comes and we look at it and see it in the interests of the team and our country. With regards to the issue of a Monday Gift, we have had Monday in the camp in the past. Yes, she was not able to make the #WAFCON team… You know, during the preparation for the WAFCON, we had a serious challenge, because our preparations, I will say, didn't actually go the way we would have wanted… Initially, we were supposed to have about 30 players, but in the long run, we had to go with 24. We didn't have the opportunity of getting everybody in. She was initially in the list of 30… Going forward, our plan is that after these qualifiers, we are going to open the camp… There are a lot of other Nigerian players that are also doing well in different other teams…

Me: But Gift is among, if you want to talk of the top two or three players, that should be in the team…

Madugu: There is adequate competition where she plays. In the last edition of the WAFCON, @_simplyesi, Esther Okoronkwo, did very well…

I had Gift in the camp when we played against Algeria. Gift was with us when we played against France… I'm happy that she's doing well. Gift is not an indisciplined player for anyone to begin to think maybe that is why she's not here. No, there's nothing wrong with her. She has not offended me in any way.

She is one player that makes the camp very lively… She’s very jovial, very friendly… she's always cracking jokes and doing one thing or the other, you know, to keep the team together in terms of team chemistry and harmony.

It's just that immediately after the WAFCON, these qualifiers is the first time we're also coming back together. You don't want to tamper with the team chemistry [for these two games].”

#Nigeria, what do you make of Madugu’s answer? 🤔
https://x.com/osasuo/status/1983426583139332500?

Obong Colin NOT Collins @ColinUdoh

This answer would have made sense to me if he did not select Chioma Okafor for that WAFCON squad. In a competitive position like strikers, there is no metric where Okafor tops Gift, not in goals, level of competition, playing experience or even team chemistry.

Kalulu44:
Naptu2, in all the listed sitcom and movies. How did you skip the popular Doctor Who and Frank Spencer comedy back then. Even Robinhood the prince of thieves
OK, now I realise that you are just trolling. Others have tried to do the same thing (mention shows that I listed and claim that I didn't list them), but I ignored them.

And now I'm going to ignore you too.

It's there (with its full name). Meanwhile, read the first sentence in that post).

Rayd502:
Nice compilation Naptu...you really had a swell childhood.

There's this show I used to watch then in the 80s,it portrayed two swords men like musketeers, one was on black costumes and signified evil while the other was on white costumes signifying good.
They had the ability to appear and dissappear in a whiff of smoke.

In all their encounters the good swords man always wins.

Can you remember the show?
Was it a cartoon?
