Dr Yunusa Tanko @YunusaTanko OBIDIENT MOVEMENT REJECTS THE NON-PASSAGE OF ELECTRONIC TRANSMISSION OF RESULTS; CALLS FOR A MARCH TO THE NATIONAL ASSEMBLY
Date to be announced on our channels of communication
February 6, 2026
The Obidient Movement vehemently condemns the Nigerian Senate’s recent decision to reject the mandatory electronic transmission of election results.
This action, which retains a clause in the 2022 Electoral Act allowing for manual collation of results, is a deliberate and unforgivable act of electoral manipulation in preparation for the 2027 general elections.
This decision by the National Assembly represents a direct assault on the foundations of Nigeria’s democracy. By refusing to mandate the electronic transmission of results from polling units to the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) Result Viewing Portal (IREV), the Senate has chosen to institutionalise chaos and opacity, thereby eroding public trust in the electoral process.
This action is a slap in the face of millions of Nigerians who have tirelessly advocated for greater transparency and accountability in our elections.
We vividly recall the turmoil, disputes, and widespread manipulation that characterised the 2023 general elections—events that stemmed directly from the failure to fully implement electronic transmission of results.
Nigerians were fed excuses of a fabricated “glitch” that never existed, while the will of the people was blatantly subverted. This latest move by the Senate only serves to entrench the same systems that enable electoral malpractice.
As the Obidient Movement has consistently maintained: “This failure to pass a clear safeguard is nothing short of a deliberate assault on Nigeria’s democracy. By rejecting these essential transparency measures, they are eroding the very foundation of credible elections.” We therefore question the motives of the current leadership:
Does the government exist to ensure order and justice, or to institutionalise chaos? Is its purpose to serve the people, or to fulfil the sinister ambitions of a privileged few? While many African nations are embracing technology to strengthen their democracies, Nigeria—the so-called “Giant of Africa”—is shamefully dragging the continent backward.
The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), which controls the National Assembly, has clearly demonstrated its intent to undermine free, fair, and credible elections. It is both ironic and hypocritical for a party that deploys e-registration and electronic processes for its internal affairs to deny Nigerians the same level of transparency in national elections.
We, the Obidient Movement, will not stand idly by while the future of our nation is being mortgaged for the political gain of a privileged few. We call on all Nigerians, civil society organisations, and the international community to join us in resisting this dangerous backward slide.
The criminality witnessed during the 2023 elections will not be tolerated in 2027. Nigerians everywhere must be prepared to rise up, resist, and reject this deliberate act of democratic sabotage, and to legitimately and decisively reclaim our country.
We urge the international community to take note of the groundwork currently being laid for future electoral manipulation in Nigeria. Accordingly, we hereby call on all Nigerians to join us in a peaceful march to the National Assembly to press our demand:
That both chambers convene an emergency sitting to revisit this critical issue and immediately pass into law the mandatory real-time electronic transmission of election results to INEC’s IREV portal, in line with the clear will of the Nigerian people they represent. We call on all Nigerians to join us and come out en masse in this struggle to correct this abnormality and change our nation for the better.

A lieutenant colonel, Abubakar-Surajo Imam, recently made history as he became a professor of Mechatronics Engineering at the Nigerian Defence Academy, Kaduna State.
With this feat, Imam became the first professor among serving personnel in the history of the Nigerian Army.
Mechatronic Engineering integrates mechanical, electrical/electronics, and computer engineering to address the challenges of designing and deploying intelligent technologies.
A statement by the Registrar of the NDA, Brig.-Gen. A.M. Tukur, described Imam as exemplary and excellent. The statement read, “This recognition not only honours Professor Imam, but also highlights the commitment of the NDA to acknowledging and rewarding outstanding contributions within its academic community.

AlphaTaikun: General Danbazau? I didn't realize that he's so well-read. He already had a doctorate degree in criminology before he became chief of army staff. |

However some Obidients do not want the protest to be about the Obidients Movement. They are attacking Peoples' Gazette for labelling it Obidients Protest.
Other Obidients are tagging other ADC leaders like Atiku and Bolaji Abdullahi and asking them why they are not protesting.
Some Obidients are asking why there is no date and time in the notice. |

I often posted this list on Nairaland in 2013. Let's see if I can do an updated version from memory.
Made in Nigeria
1) Air Beetle:
This was unveiled in 1988 and it was the first made in Nigeria aircraft. It was made from kits of VAAN'S Aircraft and it was used as a training and reconnaissance plane by the Nigerian Air Force.
2) Amebo, Gulma 1, Gulma 2 and Tsaigumi:
These are made in Nigeria drones. One of the many things that Professor Imam does is to teach students at the Air Force Institute of Technology how to make the drones. Sid Ajili, a former Nairalander, was one of the students and drone pilots.
3) NNS Andoni, NNS Karaduwa and NNS Oji:
These are made in Nigeria seaward defence boats. They were made by the Nigerian Navy and private Nigerian companies at the Naval Dockyards on Victoria Island and Port Harcourt.
4) Igirigi
This is an armoured vehicle that was made by the Defence Industries Corporation of Nigeria (DICON)
5) Proforce PF1
This is an armoured vehicle that was made by a private Nigerian company
I'll be back with more later

SalamRushdie: People like this dude are those who were used to make Tinubu president in 2023 , made is much money from doing reverse campaigns fir Tinubu ..He has quietly left the obedient movt waiting for appointment The interesting thing is that people like Morris Monye spent a lot of their personal money on the Obi campaign in 2022 and 2023. They spent time, money and made sacrifices for the campaign. I often wonder how they and their colleagues that are still in the movement would feel if they saw comments by people who did nothing but make noise online. It's very interesting. |

Morris Monye was the Director of Mobilisation at the Obidient Movement until his resignation in November 2025. Morris Monye @Morris_Monye Worst Opposition in the history of this country.
No clear leader seizing the initiative.
During GEJ you could see clear Opposition leaders in the person of BAT and Buhari. They choked the man to submission
This opposition is to make tweets and do flowery press releases. You can’t even tell who and who is the muster point of opposition
As an observer it’s fascinating really to watch. APC can’t believe their good fortune https://x.com/i/status/2019402398045794467Bashir Ahmad, OON @BashirAhmaad Leave them and join the governing party bro. https://x.com/i/status/2019485156063560076
