lebete3000: If only the man from Dubai can just sacrifice his aspirations of becoming the President of Nigeria and choose to be Obi's VP, then after Obi runs one term, he can run again when it's the North's turn and become President by 100yrs old.
Either way they're fvcked
Atiku has already served 8 years as a VP. He can't be a VP again. The constitution has given a two-term limit and Atiku served two terms as VP (1999 - 2003 and 2003 - 2007).
A picture of Atiku and Obi is attached to this tweet.
Tosin Olugbenga @TosinOlugbenga
Scooping from different reactions, opinions and others POVs, this ticket will not even be able to unseat Tinubu in 2027.
The general sentiment is that the presidency should remain in the South, even if Peter Obi agrees to be VP to Atiku, it will most likely be a failed ticket.
The only way to remove APC from power is for Atiku and his northern alliance to support the candidacy of Peter Obi.
Atiku can say goodbye to his presidential ambitions.
Hello, sir, As the opposition, we’ve got to agree to come together and back whoever ends up as our candidate. We all have our favorites, and sure, we each think our pick is the one to beat Tinubu. But if we’re splintered, arguing over who’s best, we’re just shooting ourselves in the foot. Unity is our strength here, we need to agree to support the candidate who emerges, period.
The Atiku/Obi ticket is easiest way to unseat that’s without a doubt, it is the “EASIEST” way but not the “ONLY” way, as some people would like to portray it and here is why, The Atiku/Obi will sweep the North 100%, no question. Plus, Obi no matter how unpopular he got after accepting to be AA’s VP, will give enough pull in the South to give us a solid shot at winning, but I’m not convinced it’s the slam-dunk we need governance wise.
First off, Atiku’s age is a big red flag for me. The guy’s 81. I mean, come on, can he really handle the grind of running Nigeria? It’s a tough job, and we can’t just brush it off with “Oh, we need his brain, not his body” or “He’s not here to wrestle.” We’ve heard that before, and I’m not buying it again. Nigerians deserve someone who’s got the energy to lead, not just the experience. Atiku’s a heavyweight, no doubt, but age matters.
Then there’s this whole zoning thing. I’m ready to ditch it, but I don’t want a Northerner to be the one to break that tradition. For me It’d be better if a Southerner steps up, does a solid eight years, and shows the country that Northerners don’t care where the president comes from, We just want someone who gets Nigeria’s mess and can fix it. A leader who understands our challenges, from security to the economy, and actually does something about them.
Now, what about a ticket like Obi with a strong Northern running mate? That could work, too both in governing well and taking on Tinubu. But it’s not a sure thing. The Northerner paired with Obi has to be a heavy hitter, someone with real clout and grassroots support up North.
Also, Obi’s not there yet in terms of Northern acceptability. Without a big name like Atiku or another Northern powerhouse backing him, and without a massive, all-in campaign, it’s going to be a slog to win those voters over. It’s doable, but it’ll take serious work—tons of energy, resources, and time, and we will be heavily banking on Tinubu to continue messing up, which I know he will.
So yeah, Atiku/Obi sounds stronger on paper, but we’ve got to think hard about Atiku’s age and what it means for leadership. And if we’re looking at Obi with a Northern running mate, we need to be strategic about who that is and how we make it stick.
Whatever we do, we can’t afford to be divided, we’ve got to rally behind one candidate and give it everything we’ve got.
He started out by referencing a coalition poster of Atiku and Obi. The photo of Atiku is larger than the photo of Obi.
Tosin Olugbenga said that that will never work and he gave his reasons why it will never work. He said that Peter Obi needs to be the presidential candidate with a strong northerner supporting him.
Tosin also quoted a well known politician and then he said that what worked in 2023 won't work in 2027. He said that Yusuf Datti cannot be the running mate to Peter Obi. He said that they need a strong northerner.
Imran Wakili is a fanatical supporter of Mallam Nasir El-Rufai
Imran quoted Tosin's post and said that Atiku would be a bad pick for the presidency, mainly because he is too old. He went on and on about the demerits of Atiku.
The interesting thing is that both of them did not say who their candidate is, but everybody knows what they are doing.

Former Governor of Imo State, Rochas Okorocha, has dismissed speculations suggesting that he plans to leave the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Responding to a recent report which claimed he described the APC as a party “desperate to hijack power,” Okorocha denied ever making such a statement. In a press release signed by his Special Adviser on Media, Sam Onwuemeodo, he described the report as a fabrication by those threatened by his political influence.
Okorocha questioned how he could make such a statement about a party he helped to establish—one that has held federal power since 2015.
“Almost eight years after leaving office as Executive Governor of Imo State, and several years after serving as Senator representing Imo West, those with a phobia of Rochas Okorocha still cannot sleep with their two eyes closed,” the statement read.
“For days now, they have circulated a fake story on social media, falsely quoting me as saying: ‘APC is no longer a political party but a party desperate to hijack power at all costs. I am at the corner looking at them — Senator Rochas Okorocha.’
“Okorocha would never describe a party that has been in government since 2015, and still counting, as ‘desperate to hijack power.’ What power again?” he queried.
He further reminded the public that he was the only sitting governor from the South-East who joined the APC during its formation, risking his re-election in 2015 at a time when the party had little support in the region.
“Okorocha took a political risk when major South-East leaders doubted the viability of the APC. He was ridiculed for his decision, yet he stayed committed,” the statement continued.
“It’s important to recall that, due to his dedication, he was unanimously elected by fellow APC governors as the pioneer Chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum, which he helped to build into a strong force.”
The statement emphasized that if Okorocha had any concerns about the party, he would not express them in a “badly written social media post” but would address them openly, as is consistent with his political style.
“Okorocha remains a bonafide, committed member of the APC. He never made the statement being circulated by those envious of his political journey,” the statement concluded.
