I don't know why people are arguing. Some people say that these are the worst trains that have ever been created by mankind, that trains have never run in Lagos before (these are the only trains that have ever run in Lagos before) and that the government has never done anything.
Why argue with them?
Their comments don't mean anything. At the end of the day real people can see what's happening, real people will benefit from it, etc. That's what's important, not the comments of people that have been paid to post on Nairaland.
mansaleh: Democracy is healthy when you give room to critics and not to react every atom of criticism. Sometimes ignoring some critics is another way of responding to them.
Democracy is healthy when everybody is allowed to criticise. Critics are allowed to criticise and the critics themselves can be criticised. Nobody is immune from criticism.

Governor of Lagos State, Mr @jidesanwoolu today on an inspection tour and unveiling of the three brand new train sets for the Lagos Rail Mass Transit (LRMT) Blue Line.
Today, I unveiled three new train sets for the Lagos Rail Mass Transit (LRMT) Blue Line at the National Theatre Station.
Each set includes four cars, and with this addition, we are doubling our current passenger capacity on the Blue Line. This will directly improve the commute for thousands of Lagosians, reducing wait times, speeding up journeys, and making the system more reliable overall. Our goal is to have trains arriving every 10 minutes.
I’m deeply grateful to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Federal Government for their strong support. From procurement to delivery, their backing made this possible.
Before the end of the year, we’ll receive new trains for the Red Line which will have twice the capacity of the Blue Line trains. Construction on Phase 2 of the Blue Line (Mile 2 to Okokomaiko) is also progressing.
We’re building infrastructure and a better future for urban mobility in Lagos. And we’re just getting started.
naptu2: The interesting thing about this song is that it was done by 3 of my favourite acts. The first version of this song that I ever heard was Aerosmith’s version and that was in the late 1970s or early 1980s. Till today, anytime I hear “Holds you in his arms till you can feel his disease”, I hear it in Steven Tyler’s voice, no matter which version of the song I’m listening to.
Then, I heard this version that is the video below, but I didn’t really take notice of it because it was in a movie.
Then, in the 1990s, I discovered that the song was originally done by the Beatles. I love the way that John Lenon sings, “He’s one holy roller”. The BBC initially banned the song because they thought that "He want coca-cola" was product placement or advertisement.
But you see, I only heard the Michael Jackson version on the movie Moonwalker. I couldn’t buy it anywhere and they didn’t play it on radio or TV.
Then came 1996 and I got the double CD box set of History and there was this song.
naptu2: This. Is obviously my favourite version of this song. So I'm going to post two videos, instead of one. The first video is the album version of the song, while the second video is taken from a live concert (watch the live concert).
naptu2: John Lennon and Paul McCartney wrote most of the Beatles' songs and this song is credited to Lennon & McCartney, but in actual fact, it was written by John Lennon alone.
Timothy Leary wanted to be governor of California (he ran against Ronald Reagan) and his campaign slogan was "Come Together". He asked John Lennon to write a campaign song for him. John tried to write a campaign song, but this song kept popping into his head and you can't use this song as a campaign song. Mr Leary's governorship campaign ended when he was jailed for possession of marijuana, so the Beatles recorded this song instead.
Some people have speculated that each verse of the song describes one member of the Beatles, while some have said that the song is about just one person. I think that either the whole song, or at least part of the song, is about John Lennon. There's a verse that has the words, "He's got Ono sideboards". I think Ono = Yoko Ono.
John Lennon sang the lead vocals alone in the studio. Paul McCartney's backing vocals was overdubbed on the track later. Paul said that he was disappointed about not singing live with Lennon.
Even on Abbey Road we don't do harmonies like we used to. I think it's sad. On "Come Together" I would have liked to sing harmony with John, and I think he would have liked me to, but I was too embarrassed to ask him, and I don't work to the best of my abilities in that situation.
Paul McCartney composed the electric piano part of the song, but John Lennon (who was watching him when he was composing it, so that he could learn it) actually played the electric piano on the track.
John Lennon sang lead and backing vocals and played the rhythm guitar and electric piano and did the hand claps.
Paul McCartney sang the backing vocals and played the bass guitar.
George Harrison played the lead guitar.
Ringo Starr played the drums and maracas.
John Lennon sang, "Got to be a joker, he just do what he please", on the original song.
Michael Jackson sang, "Got to be a joker, cause you're so hard to please", on his version.
Lennon & McCartney - Come Together 1969.
Here come old flattop, he come. . . grooving up slowly, He got. . . juju eyeball, he one. . . holy roller, He got. . . hair down to his knee, Got to be a joker, he just do what he please.
He wear no shoeshine, he got. . . toe-jam football, He got. . . monkey finger, he shoot. . . Coca-Cola, He say, "I know you, you know me." One thing I can tell you is you got to be free.
Come together, Right now, Over me.
He bag production, he got. . . walrus gumboot, He got. . . Ono sideboard, he one. . . spinal cracker, He got. . . feet down below his knee, Hold you in his armchair, you can feel his disease.
Come together, Right now, Over me.
(Right! Come, oh, come, come, come.)
He roller-coaster, he got. . . early warning, He got. . . muddy water, he one. . . mojo filter, He say, "One and one, and one is three." Got to be good-looking, 'cause he's so hard to see.
Come together Right now Over me.
Oh Come together Yeah, come together Yeah, come together
naptu2: John Lennon was commissioned by a politician to compose a song for his electoral campaign. Lennon tried, day and night, to compose a song for the campaign, but he couldn't. Instead, this song kept popping into his head. Luckily the politician was sent to jail for possession of marijuana and the Beatles recorded this song instead.
(The politician's campaign slogan was, "Come Together" ).
I thought that Aerosmith originally sang this song, until I found the Beatles' version in Old Girl's collection.
One of the reasons I love this song is because of its crazy lyrics. They almost make no sense
Unfortunately I can't find a video of the Beatles' version, so this is John Lennon alone (no Paul, Ringo or George) performing this song live.
