Terrorist kingpin Ali Dogo, scores of fighters killed in military air strikes in Kaduna
11th October, 2022 By Sumaila Ogbaje
The Defence Headquarters says the Air Component of Operation Whirl Punch, has eliminated key terrorists’ leaders and score of their fighters in air strikes on their locations in Kaduna State.
The Director, Defence Media Operations, Maj.-Gen. Musa Danmadami, said this in a statement on Tuesday in Abuja.
Danmadami said that the air task force carried out an air strike at Yadi in Giwa Local Government Area of the state on Oct. 8 based on credible intelligence.
He said that the air strikes led to the killing of a terrorist kingpin, Ali Dogo, (AKA Yellow) alongside his fighters in a building they were said to be hosting a meeting.
According to him, Yellow and his fighters were said to have relocated to Kaduna State following continued bombardment on his location in Niger.
Danmadami said that the air component also bombarded a terrorists’ meeting location in the Northwest of Mando in Kaduna State on the same day, following intelligence that some terrorist leaders and their foot soldiers had converged under tree cover for meeting in the location.
He said that scores of terrorists’ leaders and foot soldiers were also neutralised in the air bombardment.
“The military high command commends troops of Operation Whirl Punch and encourages the general public to avail troops with credible and timely information on criminal activities,” he said.
richmond500: The reason why the fight is still been fought in the forest and creeks is because the military are doing a good job. I remembered Yobe and Borno were no go area, even Fed govt refuse to send corp members to those states. I remembered 1st Oct 2010, independence day bombing where terrorists bombed the road that the president was to take, and he was only about 1hr 30mins close to the vicinity.
It was that bad and people say the military is not fighting insurgency. Mtchew
They don't know what they are talking about. They think it's a Hollywood movie.
3kay945: "Show them" how?! Am I the commander in chief of the so called forces?
So Afghanistan and Iraq invade US and built camps there? Chase their farmers aways, kidnapped and demand ransoms?
Don't be a Joker, bro.
You are the joker with all mouth and no action.
Obviously you have no idea of what you are talking about and no idea of the sacrifices that the officers and men are making and you have no idea of what they have achieved.
All you know how to do is talk tough online about what you cannot do.
Hundreds of Boko Haram, ISWAP terrorists killed in Nigerian airstrike
The military operations were conducted when the terrorists were organising a meeting in a forest, says a Nigerian military expert.
The Nigerian air force killed more than 200 Boko Haram terrorists in an air raid with the Super Tucano light fighter jet in the Sambisa Forest in the northeastern state of Borno, a military expert has told Anadolu Agency.
There has been no official confirmation from the military but Zaga Zola Makama said on Friday no fewer than 200 Boko Haram and Daesh in West Africa Province (ISWAP) insurgents had been neutralised.
The jet was procured by the government to fight insurgents.
Top commanders neutralised
Makama said military operations were conducted when the terrorists were meeting in the forest and ISWAP top commanders were among those neutralised.
Makama said inadequate drugs and a lack of treatment for various injuries the terrorists sustained in the strike led to their demise.
Separately, local police has confirmed the arrests of at least 503 suspects on various charges of terrorism, rape and culpable homicide across the state.
State Police Commissioner Abdu Umar said the arrests were made between January and December.
3kay945: And their involvement any effective Cause insurgency still reigns. I heard some soldiers lost their lives yesterday to same insurgents.
Their parade should be show of shame.
Very unserious elements.
It is not effective? After terrorists, bandits and their commanders have been killed, it's not effective? OK, stop talking, GO AND SHOW THEM HOW TO BE EFFECTIVE!
It seems you think that war is a Hollywood movie. How many troops did the US lose in Afghanistan and Iraq? That's the most powerful armed forces in the world!
War is not a tea party.
I will celebrate the officers and men that have made it possible for us to have this exchange without Boko Haram and bandits chasing us where we are sitting.
qtx: If we must take all this seriously, make una go clear boko boys and their likes. Anything short of that, bros u guys are just wasting taxpayers' money
All mouth.
They are already battling Boko Haram while you are sitting down and making mouth. If it's easy, why don't you go and show them how to do it?
richmond500: if they are not fighting insurgencies. Trust me, u for don run comot for Nigeria with the force those militants and terrorist came with
It looks like comedians have decided to use this thread to test their jokes. They are pretending that they do not know that the Air Force has been battling insurgents.
Bittersweetnig: and boko haram just dislodged soldiers yesterday and kill them real bad, but here you keep attack helicopter for celebration display, are these people normal at all?
So what you are trying to tell me in 2025 is that the Nigerian Air Force has not been involved in battling insurgents, rather they just stored aircraft for display??
ALTERNATEID: The legal tussle over the National Secretary of the People’s Democratic Party is finally over as the party has recognized Senator Chris Anyanwu as the National Secretary. In a correspondence to INEC in respect of submission of the party’s candidate for the forthcoming Anambra state election, the nomination form was jointly signed by Damagun and Chris Anyanwu.
Two weeks ago I remembered that Air Force Day was approaching. Then I forgot.
The sight of 3 Attak helicopters and 2 Super Tucanos flying over Five Cowrie Creek last Friday reminded me. One of the helicopters was carrying the Nigerian flag.
The Nigerian Air Force was founded on April 18th, 1964 (61 years ago). There have been open days (when members of the public are allowed to visit selected air bases and aircraft), medical outreach, sports competitions and other activities to mark the event.
Of course the activity that has caught the attention of the public the most has been the air display. People have been trying to find out what's going on.
