José Armando, a young Cruz Azul fan with leukaemia, became a symbol of hope not only for the team’s fans but also for those personally experiencing terminal illnesses. He tragically passed away at the age of 14, before he could fulfil his dream of meeting the players from his favourite team, but his story left a deep mark at the club and in Mexican football in general.
Craig Ferguson
Scotland fan Craig Ferguson walked 1,000 miles (1,609 kilometres) from Glasgow to Munich for the beginning of UEFA EURO 2024, raising money for the mental health charity Brothers in Arms. By the end of his mammoth mission, he had raised almost GBP 80,000.
Guilherme Gandra Moura
Guilherme Gandra Moura has epidermolysis bullosa, a rare genetic disease. A video of the youngster reuniting with his mother after waking from a coma was a huge social media hit. He is a devoted fan of Vasco da Gama and Gabriel Pec (now of LA Galaxy) in particular and got to meet Pec, who hugged him and became his “best friend”. Little Gui has attended the club‘s training sessions and matches, being greeted by some of his footballing idols. He has also captured the hearts of fans from arch-rivals Flamengo and Fluminense.

The biggest change in terms of voting for this year’s edition of The Best FIFA Football Awards is that fans will have their say in selecting The Best FIFA Men’s 11 and The Best FIFA Women’s 11. They will be able to choose from a list of 77 nominated players – 22 defenders, midfielders and forwards apiece, plus 11 goalkeepers – slotting them into one of several preset tactical formations to build their team. Votes will be weighted equally between fans and an expert panel.
The FIFA Puskás Award has been redefined as being bestowed on the scorer of the best goal in men’s football regardless of championship or nationality. To honour the best goal scored in women’s football in any league around the world, the FIFA Marta Award, named after the Brazilian legend, will be presented for the very first time.
Voting is open on FIFA.com until 23:59 CET on Tuesday, 10 December 2024. The rules of allocation for all awards are available at the FIFA Digital Hub.
The constitution states that local governments are in charge of markets.
A local government got a developer to build a segment of a market. The developer died while the market was still under construction. The local government named the market in honour of the developer.
Later some people began calling the market a different name.
The local government chairman inaugurated a new management of the market and he informed them of the original name of the market and that the local government voted that the market should be referred to by its original name, yet some people are frothing at the mouth, why?
