arantess: but you support drug baron tinubu
isnt that dullness ? You see, you can't even answer any question! As soon as someone asks you a question your run into a fantasy. Where in that post did you see support for Tinubu? So you hallucinated and decided that I support Tinubu and then decided to force support of Tinubu on me. That's not just dullness, it's something that a doctor should examine. |

This is from a 2017 thread. Peter Obi Demanded N7.5bn For Sponsoring My Election – Obiano InsistsAnambra State governor, Chief Willie Obiano has re-echoed his allegation that his predecessor, Mr Peter Obi demanded the sum of N7.5billion from him for sponsoring his election in 2013.
Obiano and his predecessor, Obi have had a frosty relationship shortly after his swearing in.
Obi has however denied that he demanded for the sum of N7.5billion from Obiano, saying that his problem with him was his (Obiano’s) underperformance.
Obi said if he needed the said sum, he would have simply taken it from the N75billion he left for the Obiano administration at the end of his tenure.
But Governor Obiano while speaking on Wednesday evening at Ezechima Primary School, Onitsha where he inaugurated his reelection campaigns in Onitsha North Council Area, said the clarification became necessary because of the recent accusations against him by the former Governor.
He stated that his predecessor had demanded the sum of N7.5billion from him as funds spent in prosecuting the election on his behalf, but that he refused to pay the money because it was not true.
Obiano said he refused to pay because he strongly believed that public funds should be used for public good, and not to settle godfathers.
These, he said, was the reason they fell apart.
The governor said that another reason he refused to pay the money was because he was aware that enough money was raised for his campaign by his friends and associates, all of which were never accounted for by the former governor.
On the actual sum the former Governor claimed he left behind, Governor Obiano made it clear that he inherited liability of about N127 billion debt from him in contracts awarded and other responsibilities, which he has been religiously undertaking in the spirit of continuity.
He said Obi flagged off several roads even on the day he was leaving office and saddled him with the burden of paying for it, but he assured the people that he has his eyes on the ball and will not allow anything to distract him from fulfilling his promises.
The Chairman of the Governor’s Re-election Campaign Committee, Chief Victor Umeh said APGA as the political spirit of Ndigbo, has in the past three and half years, availed Anambra good governance at its best, reminding the people that the upcoming guber election was not about Willie Obiano but about ensuring that the state remained free from political godfatherism.
A former Central Bank Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo in his speech said that at this time, the State needs a tested hand like Governor Obiano who has the experience and expertise to effectively steer her affairs. https://www.google.com.ng/amp/dailypost.ng/2017/10/19/peter-obi-demanded-n7-5bn-sponsoring-election%E2%80%8E-obiano-insists/amp/ https://www.nairaland.com/4127016/peter-obi-demanded-n7.5bn-sponsoring

Yesterday the Anambra State Government stated that Peter Obi left debt and it stated that part of the debt was the salaries that he owed Anambra workers. The spokesman of the defunct Anambra Water Corporation during Peter Obi's tenure corroborated the government's statement. Victor Ononye Yes.I can verify Fact No 3 of Soludo's submission.
The staff of Anambra State Water Corporation where I was the spokesman suffered terrible gnashing of teeth without salaries, pension and gratuity for eight years. The workers were unilaterally dismissed without committing any offence.
The same fate was suffered by staff of Anambra State Environmental and Sanitation Authority (ANSEPA) in the administration under review. Hundreds of people died in the anguish. The few who survived did so by the special grace of God.
Ask anyone who lost his entitlements what it feels like to do so. Don't forget that the victims are our brothers and sisters. The ripple effect is that for eight years, there was nothing like pipe borne water in Anambra and people lived as nothing happened.
Dirt, filth and squalor, sickness and diseases became the order of the day.The multi billion Naira Greater Onitsha Water supply scheme has now been converted into a fish pond while similar water schemes at Enugu and Abakaliki are working till date.
Shame on you all. https://www.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=2496887824129473&id=100014248383557#Source

Chief Okoi Ofem Obono-Obla is a lawyer and politician and he was the chairman of Buhari's committee for the recovery of public property. PETER OBI AND THE ANAMBRA DEBT RECORD: FACTS VERSUS FICTION
By Okoi Obono-obla
The Anambra State Government's detailed rebuttal to Mr. Peter Obi's claims on "Phantom Debts" has finally laid bare the hollow foundation of the Obi mystique.
For years, Mr. Obi has postured as the frugal saint who turned Anambra into an El Dorado and has used that false pedestal to relentlessly and sanctimoniously attack the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The facts now show otherwise.
Four facts stand out from the Government's statement:
First, he spent an estimated $4.05 billion in eight years - about N5.4 trillion at today's rate. Yet Anambra was left without functional urban or rural water schemes, with 78 out of 179 communities without any public primary school, with dilapidated public hospitals that only 27% of the people used, and with rising poverty and insecurity.
Second, contrary to his claim that he borrowed nothing, he left behind eight external loans totaling $123.77 million at signing. According to the Debt Management Office as of June 30, 2026, the outstanding balance is $92.35 million or N127.4 billion, which the current government services monthly with hundreds of millions of Naira.
Third, contrary to his claim that he cleared all salaries and pensions, he left verified arrears. These include salaries of staff of the defunct Water Corporation which ended in court judgments, and 16 months arrears of primary school teachers from the Mbadinuju era which his own government verified but paid only five months.
Fourth, his claim of leaving N2.13 billion in Ecological Fund in First Bank Account No. 2018779464, UNIZIK Branch, Awka, is demonstrably false. The certified statement of account shows the account is an IGR-Consolidated Revenue Account and has never held such amount from inception in 2011 till date. The question is: where is the money?
The so-called N75 billion savings remains what the State Government correctly calls nebulous creative accounting.
Conclusion:
The evidence is clear. If a small, homogenous state like Anambra could not be transformed despite $4.05 billion in spending and massive borrowing, how can the same manager promise to fix a complex federation of 36 states and the FCT?
Mr. Obi's eight years was an unmitigated failure, now masked by revisionism. He should desist from deceiving Nigerians with sanctimonious sermons. The desperation is even clearer in his reported four-year single-term pact with his running mate, in direct contradiction of the two-term, eight-year provision of the 1999 Constitution.
Nigerians deserve honesty, not theatre.
