Politics › Tomide Akinribido Accuses Peter Obi Of Giving Delegates Cash Filled Envelopes. by naptu2(op): 4:50am On Jun 18, 2023
Honourable Tomide Akinribido was the member representing Ondo West I constituency at the Ondo State House of Assembly from 2019 till 2023 (he lost the 2023 election). He was previously a member of the Zenith Labour Party and he is now a member of the PDP.

Tomide Akinribido @MrTomide

Facts are sacred and reality does not care about your ignorance or warped
bias. I repeat;
1. no senator who spends 600m-1 billion naira on election will win and push or allow a pay cut.
2. No Reps member who spends 200-500m on election will win and push or accept a pay cut.
3. No assembly member who spends 30-100m on election will win and push or accept a pay cut.

Whatever you say or feel won’t change these stubborn fact and reality. The solution is to STOP excessive monetisation of the electoral process BY NIGERIANS.

Peter Obi gave cash envelopes to prospective delegates when he visited Ondo state PDP secretariat in Akure on Sunday,April 24th 2022. I know because I was given the envelope too, which I gave to “party boys” hanging around the secretariat.

Why blurring their faces?
You dont want thieves to be identified or what?
Obakoolex:
undecided Why covering their faces....they should be sent to jail immediately. Enemy of the state
Cmanforall:
Why did you blur their faces?
kenmaro:
It's surprising! the practice of blurring established criminals face on social media. Are we protecting their identity or what? I suppose that once a criminal has been accused and established, their identity should not be protected so as to deter them from repeating such crime.
naptu2:
Some people are asking why the police hid the suspects' faces. The reason is simply because parading suspects is extremely controversial.

The police parade suspects because they want the public to see the results of their work.

However, the law states that everybody is presumed innocent until they are found guilty by a court. Parading a suspect creates the impression in the minds of the public that the person is guilty. Such a person will face stigmatisation and may even be harmed even if he is later found not guilty by the courts. Therefore, lawyers have often condemned the police for parading suspects before the media.

Last year the Lagos State Government enacted a law that bans the parade of suspects by the police. https://www.nairaland.com/6713970/lagos-bans-media-parading-suspects

The police have been accused of failing to comply with the law.

Now they have found a compromise by taking pictures of the suspects (to show the result of their work) but concealing their faces (in order to comply with the law).

I know that I should know numbers 8 and 10 but it's just not clicking right now.
I can swear that number 8 is Major General Martin Adamu.
