Pathway to citizenship is not that straightforward.
If anyone here thinks "Ireland gives two year Post study stay" and thats all forget it.
There are two permits in ireland,Critical skills work permit and employement permit. Now Msc graduates can go under the critical skills provided their Job not their degree o..Their job is listed under the eligible categories of job for critical skills permit and not just that, theres a salary u must earn anually as well. For instance if you study accounting, there are professions under accounting listed there. Taxation is one of them.

Getting a job and success in any country is based on a number of factors. Nobody in any country will hand job to you on a silver platter because you spent money in their country. You still need to work hard, survey their market, get your connects, study an in demand course etc. it’s the same rule every where in the world. If you need testimony of people who have secured jobs in Ireland go on YouTube you will find people who share their experiences both good and bad.

If you want to know if there are jobs for non EEA graduates go online and do a regular job search in Ireland for the role you hope to work in, that would give you a general idea of their job market.

For example when I google software engineer junior vacancies in Ireland. I find out that there’s are a number of vacancies available for non EEA

This applies to any country you’re in even here in Nigeria.

When you consider all these factors and if going to study abroad is in line with your life/career goal. Then you should take the opportunity.

But if you see going abroad as simply a way to run out of naij then you are already with the wrong mentality and will most likely be surprised at the outcome.

Any body who tells you that you would definitely get a job After grad is lying and any one who says you can’t is also lying because a lot of factors are involved and a lot still depends on the effort you put in when there to improve you’re chances getting a job after school.

My 2 cents

Good afternoon house

My student visa has been granted today
I applied in june 6th. Courier man brought it today

The documents I submitted are

1.Two previous denial letters for canada in 2017
2.My Statement of purpose
3.Letter of application/Cover letter
4.Educational documents waec, ielts,transcripts, school cert e.t.c
5.Offer letter from Griffith college, showing higher diploma in first year and msc in second year
6.invitation to register letter from griffith college
7.all receipts of tuition payment to griffith college
8.I used Edubond also as proof of finances for my first year so I put in the receipt of that
9.Bank statements of my sponsor, which is my Dad including the account where fees were paid from
10.Signed Letter of sponsorship from my dad
11. I have been working for my dads company since last year, so I included a signed letter of introduction from my dad under his companies letter head
12.I included my bank statement showing 20,000 naira stipend that was paid to me from my dads company account for the past six months
13. My dads company CAC and company registration form, company bank statement

14.birth certificate, Nysc, all Previous passports and photocopy front to back, CV

some notes: -> I got admission through an agency called study across global, they also really helped me in the visa application, and didn't charge me a dime for everything because the schools griffith college and co pay them for the service. So do check them out

->I explained in my SOP that reasons for denial were because of careless handling of my application by the agency i used last year.

If i omitted anything I will add later

Please, just to be sure, is the two years post study work permit in Ireland for some selected institutions only ? or it’s meant for all ? Thanks.

Please refer to this page on Thebes Irish website. It details the institutions and qualifications that qualify for the post study work permit.

The closer it gets to 8 weeks the more tense the wait gets. It’s honestly not easy. I applied on June 6th at Lagos vfs. Hopefully next week we will see the UPS man at our houses.

my dear u are wrong
my application this week 11th week and i called they said the VO confused because i applied to early and i asked the white woman is it not on a first come basis, why delay my application, she said u applied in april and u going in august.

i am weak to be truthful
i just told them i need some vital document in it

the most important is for them to issue after this wait
But that is correct. The Irish embassy said you’re supposed to apply three months before your proposed date of travel. That is you’re supposed to apply in June if you want to travel i. august. Processing time starts this June so your current processing time is actually just two weeks not 11 weeks.

Good afternoon house. Please I finished nysc in 2017, I am going applying for visa to Griffith college for this September. I have been working for my dad since I left nysc. I wanted to know if a offer of employment from my dads company will be okay to show employment history in visa application as I do not have any other company or experience to use.

I had my interview today. It was more of a chat than technical stuffs. What I’ll advice anyone going for the interview at andela is besides understanding your code, you should read up and understand andelas EPIC values in the curriculum, it would help.

I hope we all make it through.
