please o ! Natasha pure water should not be banned the gains outweigh the degradation on the environment. that notwithstanding, efforts should be made to properly recycle and dispose of used water sachets.

How clean is that jerry can of water? How many people actually drink the water from public taps without having to do some form of sterilization? Although many people take pure water while on the go ( on the street etc) but you find that more people are also buying for consumption in their homes because of the unavailability of potable water. Even the water in some houses that have boreholes cannot be consumed without some form of water treatment done.

I still maintain that the sachet water may not be the best but considering the situation of our country, government should look into promoting and enforcing good environmental/ waste disposal policies while the regulatory agencies ensure that the manufacturers adhere strictly to good manufacturing/ quality policies.

You can also note that most of the companies manufacturing pure water also bottle it (50cl, 75cl and even the big bottles used in water dispensers)

@Natasha, banning it is not the problem but the problem is our attitude towards our environment. It is not only pure water that uses satchet! what about  all sausage rolls like gala, beefie etc. what about goods that are packed in polyethene bags. The problem will still remain until we change our attitude of littering the environment with our waste after using the content inside.
Betterstill let there be a payback of 50kobo for each satchet water returned to a point and u will see the number of satchet nylon people will be looking for to use.
