Politics › Re: Emmanuel Ifeajuna: Commonwealth Games Gold To Facing A Firing Squad by Ndifereke: 7:30pm On Jun 08, 2016 |
TheGoodJoe: I grew up among a maternal side loyal to the Biafran struggle. At a very young age, I knew about the Nzeogwu, Ifeajuna and Co. I always knew Ifeajuna as a Saboteur and one who betrayed the Igbos.
As I got older, I read more and found out, there was a lot of one sided information coming to the Igbos. They did not believe any other source. So when the news of Ifeajuna came, very few stopped to think, "What of if the war was not going as planned?" Ifeajuna and Banjo were at the war front. Their accounts should have been trusted.
They knew they were losing the war and a ceasefire agreement would have saved their brothers' lives. They warned the Soldiers were coming and people did not listen to them.
The write up says it all. Few hours later, not few days, the Nigerian Military struck the same place.
If Ojukwu listened to them, they would have saved lives. The Propaganda was they were Saboteurs but if Ojukwu listened to them they would have been seen as their brothers' keepers. Still didn't prove you right. Even the writer of the article makes it well-known that him (and many people) are not sure if Ifejuna really committed the crimes or not. He even said that to some people, he's a hero, to others he's guilty and villain. No-one really knows what truly happened but yet you are so sure he's innocent when you didn't even fought the civil war. That the Nigerian army struck Enugu few hours later doesn't absolve Ifejuna of his crime or make him guilty. So I don't get where you are getting evidence from to make sure of facts you know nothing of. What about those that said Banjo and Ifejuna and co reached out to Awolowo and decided to go on a ceasefire (sabotaging Biafra) at Ore which led to NA re-strategizing and defeating Biafra? Is that not a crime punishable by death if it was true? What about Ifejuna murdering Tafawa Belewa? You confidently left out those parts and went for the parts that vilifies Ojukwu out of hate without any credible evidence to prove Ojukwu guilty. Spare me your hypocrisy!! |

TheGoodJoe: By 4pm two and a half hours after the executions, the gunners of the federal troops had started to hit their targets in Enugu with great accuracy. The Biafrans began to flee and the city fell a few days later.
I wonder how Ojukwu felt after killing Ifeajuna and spreading false propaganda against Ifeajuna. Then the City fell in days and a lot of Igbos died. Seems like spewing trash was embedded in your genes. So you were among those that fought the civil war and had inside knowledge that made you so sure that Ojukwu spread a false propaganda against him. I wonder how you felt after choosing to bare open your hate for things you know nothing of. |

You are so ignorant that you haven't been observing the comments of those guys up North on social medias of their unflinching support for herdsmen atrocities when threats of reprisal are issued. Offcourse you are not from the South South so you failed in an attempt to deceive any one.

Don't mind hateful creature called Sweetlemon. Her hate for GEJ surpasses any human reasoning. Just take a look at her lying through her teeth just to defend her god, Buhari. Boko Haram would have been a thing of the past if not for Buhari thirst for power and unpatriotic bigot stance when Boko Haram picked him as their representative. If Buhari really cared, he'd have ended all the incessant death via dialogue. She's denying that Northerners didn't support Boko Haram when her god, Buhari supported Boko Haram, condemned the fight against them and refused to serve as their negotiator to end the death. Whose unpatriotic acts is greater than what B00hari did? Nonsense!! The same Buhari fought GEJ against fighting Boko Haram and that doofus didn't come out to wail and be "ashamed" of Buhari. The same Buhari said "dogs and baboons" will be soaked in blood and still Bitterlemon didn't write her hypocritical epistle condemning Buhari. Her hate for GEJ won't allow her do such. Boko Haram were killing them and they stood risk of being wiped out that's why Borno people formed JTF. Are NDA killing any humanbeing much less Niger-Deltas? Topiipii: I was hoping you wouldn't say this as I intentionally left it out of my last post. I am telling you that I had students who would reply me in Ibibio after I ask them questions, the scenario is this: Me, interpreters being the students who at least can communicate in passable to decent English and then the student. My question as well as the student's response goes through the interpreters everytime, sounds unbelievable isn't it? As to this student, she even lives in a place where there are less English/Pidgin 'speakers' than A/Ibom meaning that her case is worse, now add two years during which I'm certain she did not speak the language (assuming she understands a little before her captivity) what do you think will happen? I lived in Enugu between 1995 and 1998, my sisters for a 2yrs and 8months; despite the fact that we were all born and had schooled in Lagos before we left, they had trouble speaking and understanding the language when they got back (they had never spoken English in their life before leaving Lagos other than the compulsory alphabet and spelling learnt in school, we speak Yoruba at home and at all times). The reason for this is that they spent a little more than two years speaking English/Pidgin in Enugu (82 Div., Abakpa Cantonment), even to our dad once they picked up the language. I fared better because I was already reading and writing in Yoruba, continued reading and writing and also took Yoruba in school which they did not. Now compare my sisters who were native speakers to this lady who probably understood a few words before her abduction and tell me if she would have fared any better.
The fault is not that of the students, it is as a result of one the most backward educational system currently in existence. I would have loved to create a thread where former NYSC members can share their experiences, but I don't know if it will get the kind of traction I'd like; believe me you'd be shocked at what you'll read, even in the so-called 'Educationally Advanced States'. I'm yet to see such before. Now my question is, how did Amina without a jot of understanding or speaking English made it from Nursery to SS3. Were they taught all the subjects in Hausa language? How did she write her Junior WASSCE? As for the examples with your sisters, that's understandable coz you said they were having trouble in speaking or understanding it not that they can't even speak or understand any sentence again in that language. Amina don't speak or understand a jot of English. It's strange to me. Let me clarify my position on this matter, which is that while Amina was kidnapped, being among the WAEC-taking Chibok girls is hard to believe. |

TheGoodJoe:
There are many Educationally Challenged people in Nigeria who can not communicate properly in English or Pidgin in SS3.
I remember in my secondary school where many of us scored very high to gain admission. A lot of Northern boys came with full scholarships with cut off marks not up to 1/4 of our scores.
There are remote areas that need a lot of educational assistance. It I not the kids fault but the absolute neglect from our so called leaders. Unlike those Educationally Challenged people, Amina can't communicate AT ALL. Big difference. |

Topiipii: I am quoting you because your name indicates that you're either from Akwa-Ibom or Crossriver. I served in A/Ibom, Adadia in Uruan LGA and there were students who can't speak English at all, I taught three subjects one of which is Physics and during the exam they didn't know what to write (you're free to doubt this though, but there's only one Sec. Sch. in Adadia if you want to confirm). My point is this: they will sit for the exam because their results from the previous classes were padded in order for them to gain promotion, but they will not pass even with cheating most times because they won't be able to write anything meaningful (sitting for an exam and passing it are two different things); this is the reason we usually have massive failures in the rural areas. States like the one described above are referred to as Educationally Less Developed States (ELDS) for a reason. You are missing the point, bro. Those students you taught that you opined can't write anything meaningful can at LEAST understand ordinary Pidgin language. Amina can't write, speak or even understand English Language talk more of Pidgin. These are two different scenarios. |

You are the one making a mistake. Do you agree that in Nigeria, there are SS3 students who can not communicate properly in English?
Remember, there are cases were we find corpers, who are University graduates who can not communicate properly in English. The embolden is where you are getting it wrong. People's issue is not that Amina can't communicate PROPERLY in English, but that she can't communicate AT ALL in English, not even in Pidgin. Two different scenarios. |

The Hausas in the educationally challenged regions have been coping and they will continue to cope. They have their means to test the understanding of the principles being thought.
Just as a Chinese man who can not speak English can understand physics principles or a German who can not speak or write in English can understand Chemical laws and theories.
So is your problem the educational challenges some Northern communities face or is your problem the fact that a girl kidnapped, tortured and raped is found?
Thank God Amina Ali is alive and found.
#WelcomeBackAmina
