No doubt, messi is a fine player but what has he done this year? He has been out injured and hasnt made much of an impact since returning from injury. He played well against MU but what was the outcome?

CR has been outstanding this season, he has scattered all available scoring record for a winger. He will be playing in the CL finals, Messi wont, he will still showcase his talents at EURO 2008 while messi will be resting. No other player has attained what CR has this year, and without sounding immodest, if CR dosnt win it then the awards have been a charade all this while.

The fact remains, CR is the only worthy winner. He is on the verge of setting another record as the first player from the EPL to win the world footballer of the year award.
