Romelu lukaku and Alexis Sanchez came on as substitutes against Newcastle in midweek
Alexis Sanchez and Romelu Lukaku are set to start for Manchester United when they take on Reading in the FA Cup third round on Saturday.
The pair came on as substitutes against Newcastle on Wednesday with Sanchez returning from a hamstring injury and Lukaku netting the opener in the 2-0 win at St James' Park.
Caretaker-manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer won the FA Cup as a player and is targeting silverware as a coach, saying: "We're about winning trophies of course.
"The FA Cup final is such a fantastic final. I played in the 1999 one at Wembley and, after having watched so many finals as a kid, to be able to make that long walk up from the dressing room to the pitch was fantastic. That's what we hope for."
Highlights from Manchester United's win against Newcastle in the Premier League
There is also a new face at Reading with the trip to Old Trafford the fourth game in charge for Jose Gomes and he says anything can happen in football despite the daunting challenge.
He said: "It's a special game, playing away against Man Utd. They're a very strong team, now they're playing with a different dynamic - it looks like the players are more comfortable with the way they are playing now.
"It will be a very tough game for us, but it's a football game so everything can happen. We have a small light that can give us some hope, that we can play our football, play good football, and the result - we don't know. Everything can happen."
Team news
Paul Pogba is unlikely to be available for United because he is still feeling the effects of Jonjo Shelvey's controversial challenge in the victory over Newcastle. Elsewhere, Solskjaer is also expected to rotate his squad.
Highlights of the Sky Bet Championship match between Reading and Swansea
Former United man, Tyler Blackett, serves the final match of his suspension for Reading after a red card against Millwall, as does Leandro Bacuna.
John O'Shea also makes a return to the club where he played nearly 400 games and could start, having featured in the last two games under Gomes.
Opta stats
Manchester United have lost just one of their 14 FA Cup matches against Reading (W8 D5) and are unbeaten against them in the competition since a 1-2 defeat in a second round-three replay back in January 1927 (W7 D2).
Manchester United caretaker-boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer offers an injury update on his team ahead of Saturday's FA Cup third round tie against Reading
Manchester United are unbeaten in 16 games in all competitions against Reading (W12 D4), winning each of the last five - a run that started in the FA Cup back in January 1936.
Since a 1-2 defeat against Swansea in round three of the 2013-14 FA Cup, Manchester United have won each of their four such games at this stage without conceding a single goal.
This will be the seventh consecutive season Reading will be starting their FA Cup campaign away from home, winning two, drawing two and losing two of their previous round six games

Afrodoc, I hope we get to see Garner and Chong at some point. A blistering start to the match and they might have their chance today.
I don't know why Greenwood and Gomes are not in the squad and we are really slim at the moment when you look at our CB options? Where's Rojo? He's been missing one too many games.
Rojo and Smalling injured according to OGS

Sell Hazard 5million pounds or less, but Benteke whatever amount they are calling.
Recall Ramirez, and chelsii will dominate Europe Europa.
You have forgotten our main man Bakayoko

Imagine a midfield trio of Bakayoko Ramires and cesc

Starting front trio of Morata Benteke and Willian

Just Imagine Bro

Isn't that what most teams would be dieing to have as their starting line up every week??

I have made peace to what Jorginho is to this team. He is certainly not a Fernadinho in terms of physicality (what a lot of people want) and he is not a Fabregas with his vision (Not Every DM has this in their locker). In as much as he is playing is safe majority of the time, i would want him to do more to his physicality to be able to afford Kante do his work upfront well.

Kante in the same position can offer some physicality, pace, and ball retention but not quick one time ball distribution that Sarri seems to require for the position.

Verdict. Kante in Jorginho position is not the Problem.

Our midfield of Jorginho, Kovacic, Barkley and Kante is not creative enough compared to that of CIty who have Silva, Silva, De Bruyne, Fernadinho and Gundogan. Sarri has only had the chance to improve this department with only Jorgingo and Kovavic and has to somehow train Kante as the 3rd man in the middle. While we all love Kante for his workrate, he is not such a great passer with vision in tight spaces but a solid worker and runner that is useful in his own way while still learning the new position.

Our Attack is filled with players who either lose the ball easily or want to do it all by themselves (Hazard, Willian) or don't play with each other majority of the time. It is all nice and good when they do it and we are happy and come and praise them here (Hazard) but its disgusting to watch when it does not come off. How can you not see a pass for someone that is open and shoot nonsense shot against defenders. Willian and Hazard are culpable for this more times than not. Its painful when city score so much with cutbacks from this position but our wingers are busy trying to go it all alone for the glory.

Whether you are bored with Sarri or not, he is not he problem and he has only been on the job for 6months and has done well enough in that 6 months.

His target is to secure champions league football for next season, he is not failing at it currently
I think he Sarri deserves an extension

The problem is Hazard

All valid points, fellow Bluuus.

1) Recall Baba Rahman from his loan to replace the inconsistent Alonso.

2) Recall Bakayoko and Lewis Baker from their loan to play double pivot.

3) Sell Kante, he does not fit Sarriball. Sell Jorginho, he is a defensive liability.

4) Sell Hazard, he does not want to be here anyway.

5) Recall Miazga and Omeruo from their loan to play as ball playing CBs to replace the error prone Luiz and Rudiga.

6) Finally play Willian in his natural position as a fake 9.....erm false 9 rather.

My 2 cents.

UP BLOUSE!
