A couple in Kenya recently chose to invest millions into their big day. First things first, they did not hesitate to spend big buck on a chopper, which served as one of their chosen means of transport. The other noticeable feature was the fleet of flashy Range Rovers, which were not only part of the entourage to the wedding venue, but also reportedly brought in by all guests at the event. 14 year old abducted Ese Oruru allegedly 5 months pregnant

Ese Rita Oruru, the 14 year old girl from Bayelsa state who was abducted by Yinusa Dahiru, alias Yellow may be about 5 months pregnant, according to Vanguard.

The white Hijab she wore when she arrived on Tuesday, was used to disguise the alleged pregnancy. Her pregnant condition was what made the IGP, Solomon Arase to give instructions to fly her to by air after she was rescued, rather than by road.

This was after she had been handed over to the Gender and Child Protection Unit where a team from the Medical Department of the Force carried out a comprehensive medical examination of her at the Police Medical Facility in Area 1, Garki and confirmed her pregnancy.

Meanwhile, the IGP has directed the Bayelsa State Police Command to take over investigation in the child violence offense saga because the offense was committed in Bayelsa which is the place of residence of the abductor, Yunusa Dahiru.

Consequently, Vanguard was told that Yunusa will be moved to Yenegoa to face interrogation and prosecution for kidnapping and child abuse as well as violence against a girl-child.

Nigeria is blessed with so much and it is is heartwarming to know that some things we take for granted here are being adored in other countries. Who knew the popular dwarf goat known as "Ewu" or "He-goat" in local parlance is kept at the famous Franklin Park Zoo? One of the Nigerian goats kept there delivered a kid this month amid wild cheer from the zoo management and the media. There’s a new kid at Franklin Park Zoo… a Nigerian Dwarf Goat kid, that is.

The new kid was born February 16 inside the barn at Franklin Park Zoo’s Franklin Farm. Shortly after birth, the little female was standing, and within hours she was observed nursing. This is the second offspring for mom, Leia, and dad, Lucky.

The kid recently underwent a medical exam, and she appears bright, alert and active. The goat kid, who has been named Chewbacca, weighed about four pounds at birth.

“We are thrilled to share the news of this birth and we hope people will stop by during this school vacation week to see this adorable new addition,” said John Linehan, Zoo New England President and CEO.

Nigerian Dwarf Goats are noted for their wide range of color patterns, which include combinations of black, brown or gold mixed with white, as well as for their easy-going temperaments.

Adult males can reach a maximum size of 19–23.5 inches (48–60 cm), and females can grow to about 17–22.5 inches (43–57 cm).

These herbivorous miniature goats (Capra aegagrus hircus) are of West African descent. They have been domesticated as dairy goats and can be found all over the world. Highly adaptable, Nigerian Dwarf Goats can live in climates ranging from cold to hot and dry.

Despite their size, Nigerian Dwarf Goats are known for expressing a high quantity of milk. Their production ranges from 1 to 8 pounds of milk per day (one quart of milk weighs roughly 2 pounds), with an average doe producing about 2.5 pounds of milk per day. Their milk has a higher butterfat content than milk from full-sized dairy goats, making Nigerian Dwarf Goat milk excellent for cheese and soap making.


Nigerian Dwarf Goats are gentle, friendly, and can easily be trained to walk on a leash. Their size and temperament enable them to be excellent "visitor" animals for nursing homes and hospitals.

Early last year, Kenyans were stunned when a 56-year-old woman moved to court to sue her step grandchild aged 24 for snatching her husband.

The family feud had reportedly been brewing for three years before spilling out. Grace Mwende accused Florence Nduku of insulting her through a chain of text messages after allegedly starting an intimate relationship with her husband, Daniel Mwongela, 61.

Nduku is facing six counts of misusing a communication gadget. Some of the text messages received between July 12, 2013 and early 2015 referred to Mwende as an “old hag” who “could not satisfy the old man” and that she lost her “sweetness a long time ago,” thus it was her (Nduku’s) turn to enjoy the old man’s “honey.”

She also reportedly insulted Mwende that she is a witch and husband snatcher who once sold herself in five-star hotels.

She denied the charges and was set free on a Sh100,000 cash bail or bond of Sh300,000 with a surety of a similar amount.

But in an unexpected turn of events, Nduku has changed her mind in court and confessed that Mwongela proposed to her and she was unhappy to share him with her granny Mwende.

“I acted out of anger and I’m very sorry. We were sharing a man with Mwende. He (Mwongela) had promised to marry me,” Nduku stated in her mitigation.

Their purported secret relationship came to light in 2011 just three months after Mwende, a boutique owner and Mwongela wedded in a church ceremony in Machakos.

Initially, Mwongela who worked in Malindi, used to visit Mwende in Nairobi on a monthly basis, but unknown to her, Nduku - who was one of her bridesmaids during their wedding - was also eyeing the old man.

Nduku worked at her grandmother’s boutique where her fight with a colleague over a man made her quit her job “to concentrate on her relationship with Mwongela” in what later escalated to insulting text messages directed at her grandmother.

Nduku told the court that she has been in an intimate relationship with Mwongela and it would be tiresome to appear in court daily.

Besides, she claimed to be in the process of preparing to leave the country for unknown reasons and hence her change of plea and stunning confession.

Nduku was fined Sh10,000 in five counts or serve three months in jail for all the counts. She was however discharged on one count, a ruling that Mwende claims to be ‘fishy,’ considering the initial bond terms.

“At the moment, I don’t have the heart to forgive Nduku for what she did to me. It hurts a lot and I don’t think I will even forgive her,” Mwende told The Nairobian.

According to Mwende, the text messages were gross and ruined her relationship with other family members and “some elders have since approached me that I ought to forgive her but it is hard because I raised her like my own.”

She added that, “The bitter part is how her father defended her and told me he is ready to receive dowry from Mwongela. For now, I will just take a break before embarking on the next course of action and probably find another option to seek justice.”

The student said one of his friends who is a student of Mass Communication Hnd2 was mercilessly whipped by security in the school for reasons they didn't divulge.
