Such hilarity! This happened at a church in Ogun state recently. Never seen anything like it before.lol The pastor pictured above said he wanted to show his members how powerful God is. He then asked them to bring out their phones and prayed that God should miraculously credit their phones. After the prayer, one of the female members testified that she had only N9 balance on her phone before the prayers but after the prayer, she saw N750 credit on her phone. Another one said she had N50 but after the prayers, she checked her balance and it was N100....Eyin oluwa logo! Lol. http://www.newseveryhour.com/2016/02/photos-pastor-prays-recharge-card-into.html

Singing couple, Tunde & Wunmi Obe (T. W. O), who have been together for 28 years (dated 10years before getting married in 1998) have one of the entertainment industry’s most successful celebrity marriages. As St. Valentines Day draw closer, the couple who are blessed with three lovely children in this interview (granted on behalf of the couple by the husband Tunde), shares interesting secrets of their long lasting relationship, opinion about the challenges of running a successful relationship in this social media age and more. Excerpts after below... It's the Valentine season again and I know you used to host a boat cruise at this time every year, are we expecting that this year? We actually put that on hold about five years ago due to sponsorship challenges. We keep pumping our personal cash into it and the show keeps getting bigger every year and we always needed to spend more without sponsorship. However, we just decided to give back to a general audience who are our fans this February with a competition we've been running on social media titled "#ThingsThatTakeTwo". It's all about basically following us online and sharing with us what you think takes two, then try to get just 50 retweets and you will receive something really nice from us. I'm only on twitter @iamtundeobe, you can follow me to participate or follow Wunmi @wunmiobe on Twitter and instagram. The details are all there. The other day, a young man said it takes Garri and water to make Eba and we all bursted into laughter. We just want to give to as many people as possible this Valentine. As many people that want to play, we give them something. God has been good to us and we are grateful. We want to give back. So, talking about things that take two, your marriage has been one of the reference points in Nigeria celebrity marriages that have stood the test of time, what's the secret? Like Wunmi and I always say, 28years together is not beans. If you don't give it to God, then you are making a big mistake. We have to put God first because he has kept us together by his will. The second most important thing in a relationship is that the two parties want it to work. Because no matter what the case may be. If you really don't want the marriage or you really don't want it to work, it won't work. So the two of you have to really make up your mind that you will stick together no matter the challenges. So after deciding that you really want each other, all the other things can begin to follow like communication, respect for your spouse, and following some timeless marriage wisdom. Like the Yorubas do say, what the husband doesn't eat, the wife should not cook it and so many other little secrets and wisdom. But like I said, the most important I will tell anyone is to put God first and decide if they really, truly and genuinely want to be together. Marriage is even more difficult now in this Era of social media, only God can save the world. Could you explain more on that social media thing? I mean, It’s no longer a secret. There is even a Nigerian celebrity couple that got broken up recently because of this social media thing. There is going to be problem when you begin to communicate with other people in a way that is not appropriate and then your spouse finds out. And the challenge is that unlike in the past, social media has now made it easy to have access to all kinds of strangers. Anyone can now easily strike a conversation with a married woman or man. God helps you if there is a already loophole in your marriage and your partner is the very vulnerable type. You don't even know the intention of some of the people your husband or wife has been developing closeness with online. The way it used to be back in the days is that you sneak out to cheat, but now everything has been simplified. Everything is smart now. Smart phone, smart cheating! Everything happens in smart ways. Even most times you find a couple both sitting in the same room and both of them, their heads are buried inside their devices and they can stay together in the same room without saying a word to each other because each person is communicating with his or her “fans” in quote. So how do you bridge the gap between relationship and technology , do you now jettison technology because you want your marriage to work? No, of course not! But both of you must develop the habit of opening your mouth and talk. A closed mouth, they say is a closed destiny. I would say that a closed mouth is a closed marriage. Learn to talk. When your husband for instance is getting too engrossed with that device, nudge him, “ol’ boy, it is our time now. Please drop that thing.” let him or her know that you are being deprived because of that thing. The mistake most people make is that they don't speak out. Tell your husband what you want! Tell him how you are feeling it and ‘how it is doing you’. And the same goes for the man. You find a couple tightening up their face all the time in the house, they grumble up and down! If you feel like somebody is on their device for too long, tap him and let him or her know that “this is me and you time”. I won't say it has never happened with us, but anytime it does, “I'd say babe please put this thing down, I need to talk to you. ” And really, a wife that loves her husband, obedient to him and respect him will drop it instantly. She won't even say “let me finish what I'm doing”. Then you as the husband can now tell her “dear if there is something you are typing oh, please finish with it oh”, Just to show her that little respect. Thing is, whether it is work, social media or anything that distracts, just always make out time for that special person and make them know that they are special and that they come first in your life. Let them know you value them more than all those things. What do you think about people saying that the reason they haven't gotten married is because they have not found their ‘spec’ of man or woman? For me I think you shouldn't have a spec when it comes to marriage. Just like Wunmi was saying during a TV interview the other day. She said when she met me, I was much more handsome than this. Now imagine if she had come for me because I'm a spec, we probably won't still be together after all this Years. What you need to go for in a spouse is his or her heart. If you find a woman with a good heart, you have found everything. If you find someone with compassion, you are the luckiest of humans. How do you find a woman with a good heart, it starts with the way she treats everybody around her. Just watch her. Not just how she treats you in the rationship but how she relates with everybody, how she empathize with others. When you are with a woman and she is talking about other people like “see what they are going through, what can we do to assist them?” that's your wife! So I don't believe in spec, because a woman with a good heart will work hard to be all those things you want. http://www.newseveryhour.com/2016/02/singing-couple-tunde-and-wunmi-obe.html

According to a Newseveryhour.com reader who sent in the pics... "I went to transact at one of the ATM Points on the premises of First Bank branch at Mile 12 area of Lagos this night and I saw this broken electric cable hanging across the entrance of the ATM Point. Had to tell my sister to snap me. How can a bank not care about its customers. Is it fair that I get myself electrocuted in the process of collecting my hard earned money? That cable was used to connect the bulb lightening the ATM area, but as you can see, it's just waiting to cut off and maybe fall on an innocent customer. Who knows what could happen if it falls on a person." Well, you can't blame this person considering the rising spate of electrocution happening lately. Hope the management of this bank take urgent action. See more photos below.. http://www.newseveryhour.com/2016/02/a-newseveryhour-reader-complains-about.html

The story as told by a family member This incident happened in a popular private hospital called Ayodele Hospital in Fagba off Iju Road. The baby was brought to the hospital on Saturday February 6,2016. Before taking the boy to the hospital , he was taken to Ifako Ijaiye General hospital on Wednesday February 3, 2016 for treatment as a result of teething fever. The boy was apparently running high fever as a result of teething problem. At the General hospital he was given injection to bring down the temperature and after all was discharged. He was okay by our understanding then. On Saturday morning the temperature started rising again. His wife took the baby back to the hospital and was told that there is no bed space. She was referred to Ayinke Hospital in Ikeja . Considering the distance and all the troubles so far, the father decided to take him to a big private hospital around. That was how the baby was taken to Ayodele in fagba. At the private hospital he was admitted and they tried getting the vein in order to pass drip and to administer medication. They could not get the vein easily so they decided using the vein in the head . They started administering the drip . Not quite long, they told the parents that the baby is not breathing fine due to the catarrh he has and that they have to place him on oxygen. After some hours, the light went off. They called the nurses to inform the gateman to put on the generator and for an hour the hospital did not respond accordingly . The baby gave up after gasping for breath. The parents watched their baby die for what could be avoided. The father was so traumatized that he was ready to pull down the hospital for such negligence and the placing of the baby at the waste bin as if it was a dog that died (see pictures attached). In the process policemen from Oko Oba were called in to arrest the father. Though he was released later. Despite all these negligence, the hospital is asking them to pay N38,000 before they can take the corpse for burial. The parents are asking for justice. The death of their baby should not be swept under . Someone should pay for such wickedness . The world need to know about this. This kind of hospitals should not be allowed to operate in a sane society. A life that could have been saved has just be lost. A future and hapless baby's life has been cut short on the altar of negligence . http://www.newseveryhour.com/2016/02/lagos-hospital-allegedly-allows-6-month.html

According to Gulf News Court, A 40-year-old Nigerian man has been accused of smuggling nearly 1.7kg of cocaine capsules in his intestines via Dubai in transit. A special device helped capture the man carrying the cocaine in his intestines. (screenshot) Jail wardens did not bring the suspect from his detention and present him before the Dubai Court of First Instance where he was scheduled to enter a plea on Sunday, February 7. Presiding judge Mohammad Jamal adjourned the hearing until the defendant is brought from detention on February 21. Law enforcement officers at Dubai International Airport were said to have discovered that the Nigerian passenger, C.J., had been carrying drugs in his intestines when they had him checked at the special detecting device at the airport’s transit terminal in November. The passenger was referred to Dubai Police’s anti-narcotics department immediately after the scanning device exposed tens of capsules in C.J.’s intestines. Drugs prosecutors charged the suspect with smuggling 80 capsules that contained a stone-like white substance via Dubai in transit. A policeman claimed to prosecutors that he was tasked with accompanying C.J. to a public hospital to make him emit the drug capsules. "I escorted the suspect to the hospital where he was provided with a medical substance to help him emit the capsules. He got out 45 capsules over a few hours," testified the policeman. Dubai Police’s forensic laboratory confirmed that the extracted capsules contained nearly 1.7kg of cocaine. http://www.newseveryhour.com/2016/02/nigerian-passenger-accused-of-smuggling.html

Lesbian Kafayat Adegoke Blasted For Tricking Man Into Getting Her Pregnant 30 year old Lesbian, Kafayat Adegoke who tricked a man into getting her pregnant because she didn't want to use a surrogate and couldn't afford IVF but desperately wanted a child, has been criticized by critics who think she is being selfish by excluding the baby's Dad from its life. Matt O’Connor, founder of Fathers For Justice says a child needs a mother AND a father in their life. He said: And it is a fundamental human right that a child has access to their father. It is sad that anyone wants to bring a baby into the world in the knowledge that they are denying them access to half of their family. It isn’t just the dad who loses out but also the paternal grandmother and grandfather. Unfortunately, women are stopping fathers becoming involved in children’s lives more and more with devastating consequences. We would support this man in taking legal action to gain access to his child. Anne Diamond, a new agony aunt said: Kafayat is showing she’s little more than a child herself. She thinks having a baby is all about her. It’s not, it is always about the child who will grow up questioning why he or she hasn’t got a daddy. It’s one thing to grow up fatherless because he couldn’t, or didn’t want to be around. Quite another to discover your mother deliberately deprived you of a dad. On top of that, it’s miserably unfair to the unsuspecting men. Stop it, Kafayat. Grow up before your selfishness deprives your child of a decent mother too. Emma Kenny, a psychologist, therapist and lecturer says Kafayat is a manipulator that has no right to deny her baby a relationship with its father She said: She has completely taken advantage of this man. When a child is brought into this world both a mother and father are of equal importance. She has tricked him and manipulated him into answering questions to find out his suitability for a process he didn’t even know he was involved in. Then to actually wish to exclude him, basically branding him worthless, displays a certain degree of narcissism. She is denying the importance of men, revealing a warped sense of her own self worth. Not the best quality for a mother, it suggests she’s willing to do whatever it takes to get what she wants. Children like to have a relationship with their father. In denying him a part in the child’s future, she’s making a decision for a child who has a right to know who their father is. She doesn’t have the right to remove this opportunity. They are also trying to contact the man who got Kafayat pregnant with the an address.. http://www.newseveryhour.com/2016/02/nigerian-lesbian-kafayat-adegoke.html

So Dat we will know she's got security |
A primary school teacher identified as Evi Iwaha pictured above, has narrated how some robbers attacked her, took her ATM card and cleared her account in the early hours of Saturday January 30th. She narrated her story to The Nation. "It happened a few minutes to 6.00am; I’d boarded a bus supposedly to Oshodi from Obanikoro. No sooner had the bus moved than they sprang into action. The first thing they did was grab my phone; ‘What do you do? Where are you coming from?’one of them asked. I was hopeful that they’d take pity on me, having told them I was just a primary school teacher. Why bother to ask if it meant nothing to them? After rummaging through my wallet, they found two ATM cards and some cash. The question that followed hit me with a bang. ‘What’s your pin number?’ Instinctively, I hesitated for a while, but a resounding slap on my face soon got me spilling it out. These guys were actually going to do the unimaginable. They were going to clear my account. To think that I was about experiencing stories that had seemed far away. I looked up in time to see another member of the gang, sitting in the front seat. They called him officer. I don’t know if he was some military officer or if the name was just a code name. Even though I was still a little dazed from the slap, I couldn’t but notice the gun that hung loosely in the man’s hand, as he spoke to his colleague. He quickly handed the ATM cards to another member who played the role of a bus conductor. The driver slowed down at my inquisitor’s command, and the bus conductor jumped off the bus on his way to emptying my accounts. I silently wished I had payed the money into my friend’s account, he had asked me to do so to avoid spending it, since I’m saving towards paying my rent. Meanwhile, while we awaited the arrival of the messenger, the bus kept going round and round. In the process, the two women I met on the bus were told to disembark, and two others, a guy and his girlfriend were picked up at the next stop. They were lucky, as they didn’t have any ATM card on them. They were ripped of their phones and the only one thousand Naira note the guy had on him. They had also searched the lady who came on at the same time as I did. Obviously they didn’t get much from her. I was their sacrificial lamb. Soon my phone beeped – an indication that the money had been withdrawn. Then they drove back to the spot where they had dropped off the bus conductor, picked him up and drove off. By all means, it was a smooth operation, and we were home-bound now. I silently prayed that they dropped me off at a safe place. All along, I didn’t know where we were because I had been sitting on the floor of the bus. Suddenly, the bus pulled to a stop and we were all told to alight. I discovered that they had dropped us at the toll-gate. My inquisitor who had promised to give me transport money to take me home had either forgotten or couldn’t care less. They zoomed off as soon as we were all out of the bus. I stood there thinking of how to get to my place in Gbagada, until one good Nigerian who happened to be passing by came to my rescue by giving me N100, my exact fare home.”she said http://www.newseveryhour.com/2016/02/how-robbers-stole-my-atm-card-and.html
