Akwa Ibom Residents Express Fears Ahead of Nigeria/South Africa 2015 AFCON Qualifiers
Ahead of the November 19th Nation's Cup qualifiers clash between Nigeria and South Africa in the newly built Akwa Ibom International Stadium, residents express fears and anxiety over what many have termed the embarrassing outing of the Super Eagles.
The last three qualifiers have not been impressive with the worst being yesterday's defeat by Sudan, a non-footballingnation.
According to street investigations by an Akwa Ibom Online correspondent last night after the Sudan/Nigeria clash, most residents spoken to, while thanking the state governor, Chief Godswill Akpabio for the feat achieved in delivering the stadium project as promised, demanded that it is better the NFF cancels the game slated for the new stadium rather than having bad luck visiting the state due to the poor performance of the Super Eagles, noting that the state is known for success and rapid growth.
It will be recalled that after an inspection tour of the stadium by the new EXCO of the NFF headed by Mr. Amaju Melvin Pinnick, the new NFF boss announced that the November 19th Nigeria/South Africa 2015 AFCON qualifiers will hold in the new Akwa Ibom International Stadium.
