Today – 1st October is a day of celebration for us Nigerians. On this day, 56 years ago our people achieved the most important of all human desires – freedom and independence. We should all therefore give thanks and pray for our founding fathers without whose efforts and toil we would not reap the bounties of today. 2. I know that uppermost in your minds today is the economic crisis. The recession for many individuals and families is real. For some It means not being able to pay school fees, for others it’s not being able to afford the high cost of food (rice and millet) or the high cost of local or international travel, and for many of our young people the recession means joblessness, sometimes after graduating from university or polytechnic. 3. I know how difficult things are, and how rough business is. All my adult life I have always earned a salary and I know what it is like when your salary simply is not enough. In every part of our nation people are making incredible sacrifices. 4. But let me say to all Nigerians today, I ran for office four times to make the point that we can rule this nation with honesty and transparency, that we can stop the stealing of Nigeria’s resources so that the resources could be used to provide jobs for our young people, security, infrastructure for commerce, education and healthcare. 5. I ran for office because I know that good government is the only way to ensure prosperity and abundance for all. I remain resolutely committed to this objective. read the full text here http://mystatenews.com/full-text-president-buharis-independence-day-speech/

The candidate of the All Progressives Congress in the Edo State governorship election, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, has taken an early lead in the election. With results from nine local government areas collated, Obaseki holds the lead with 142,424 votes, while the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Osagie Ize-Iyamu is close behind with 136,808 votes. Out of the nine local governments for which results have been collated, Obaseki won five, with Ize-Iyamu claiming the remaining four. Results for nine more local governments have yet to be collated. Meanwhile as the collation went on, PDP supporters protested outside the INEC office, demanding that INEC should stop collation of results from the LGAs in the North Central Senatorial district. They alleged that the results were manipulated. The protesters were eventually dispersed by police operatives who fired tear gas at them and shot into the air See collated results below Etsako West LGA: APC – 29,199 PDP – 10,843 Registered Voters – 136, 664 Accredited Voters – 45,620 Etsako East LGA: APC – 18,078 PDP – 12,552 check the rest result here http://mystatenews.com/edo-election-obaseki-heading-victory-pdp-supporters-protest/

Detectives have uncovered another multi-billion naira transaction believed to have been carried out by former Petroleum Resources Minister Diezani Alison-Madueke. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is probing a N4billion hotel deal between Mrs. Alison-Madueke and a former military administrator, whose identity is yet to be released “so as to protect the investigation”. The hotel may be placed under Interim Forfeiture as soon as the preliminary investigation is concluded, But detectives of the anti-graft agency have secured the relevant papers on the hotel valued at N4billion Also, it was gathered at the weekend that some business associates of Mrs Alison-Madueke were yet to refund to the EFCC about $1.85billion traced to them. They would rather follow through the case than make a refund, a source said. According to the anti-graft agency, the hotel was one of the five being investigated in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital. http://mystatenews.com/efcc-probes-diezani-over-n4b-hotel-deal-with-ex-milad/

President Muhammadu Buhari has advised Biafra activists to toe the path of democracy by joining a political party to advance their interest within a united Nigeria. According to him, a referendum, which some of the agitators are clamouring for, is unlikely. The President stated this at the weekend during a news conference in New York to mark the end of his visit to United States for the 71st United Nations’ General Assembly (UNGA). “What I see is those who feel strongly about creating a state within Nigeria, rather than joining a party and campaigning. You cannot practice democracy by creating a state within Nigeria,” Buhari said. The President also addressed a claim that his nephew, Alhaji Mamman Daura, takes decisions for him on national affairs. He said the rumour was from an online medium. http://mystatenews.com/biafra-no-room-for-referendum-says-buhari/

Choose one word to describe the Samsung Galaxy S6. Gorgeous. Powerful. Special. Different. Thank you. That will do. Galaxy S5 has only one of these under its belt and hint… it starts with a P. The Samsung Galaxy S6 is not the next big thing. It’s “project zero”. The reboot. But was there really anything wrong with the S-line – the standard-setter, the home of the super droids? OK, design needed looking at for sure. But hey, other brands do facelifts – Samsung goes for a complete overhaul. This must’ve been the message they wanted to send. And if it means giving up the memory card slot, the removable battery and the waterproofing, so be it. That’s part of the message too. Anyway, the Galaxy S6 was redone from scratch and bids farewell to plastic. Glass and metal is a critically acclaimed combination. Another way of saying it is – depending on how upset you are with the missing card slot and sealed battery – they’re copying Apple and Sony. Alright, memory, battery and waterproofing are easy things to get upset about, so let’s see what the Samsung Galaxy S6 offers in exchange. The new look is impressive and exciting and Samsung’s trademark AMOLED is the perfect match. It’s an immersive 5.1 incher of QHD resolution, for the amazing 577ppi – though “amazing” doesn’t work for Samsung. They’ll call it “the best ever” – and will be right. And that’s just the beginning. read the whole review http://phonelatest.com/samsung-galaxy-s6-duos-review/
