Wonderful post Gbawe (well thot and written). Let me just add this. Jonathan can only come into power in any of the following ways. 1. The Political Class. (OBJ 1999) - If he plays his card right and he is able to lick enough asses he just might be allowed to rule (this i seriously doubt) 2. Historical Class (Yar' Dua 2007) History been a major deciding factor - (Zoning/Recycled Political Class/ Family) 3. Will of the People (M.K.O 1993 and surely Fashola 2011) To me, this is his best option. Work magic and be decisive between now and 2011 and let the masses fight for their leader. However, as a popular saying goes, It is the sweetness of a corpse that a housefly is unwilling to let go that would eventually let it to be buried along with the corpse. |
Beaf:Please, we need to be careful. Hope Jonathan does not want to foolishly listen to these analysts;. That was how Gen. Aguiyi Ironsi was deceived in 1966, even the courageous and Loyal Col. Faguyi's life was not enough to save him, when the political ever scheming north came calling. |
nothing yet |
bgees:The ans is simple, They ain't Nigerian. Period Let them come back and see if they would last a month in Nigeria. sits back laughing |
Ans to the above. If they are rich Nigerian men then, i do not think there is any thing wrong in them been pastor's and accruing more than enough wealth, at least most Nigerians think they need more than enough wealth to be able to get around. - For judgment, That is left for God However, if they are blessed Men of God, then i wonder what we would call the likes of Oprah that established Leadership Academy for Girls in South Africa (A girls-only boarding school Inspired by her own "humble beginnings" and disadvantaged background, providing for academically gifted girls from impoverished backgrounds in South Africa who exhibited leadership qualities for making a difference in the world). Did i hear you say, she is not a Nigerian or better still she ain't a "born again". You re right. It's not an American Story, but a Nigerian one. But Remember heaven has no story |
bgees:My bro, it depends, as i would like to ask Are our pastor's rich Nigerian men or blessed men of God? Over to the house. |
A friend once told me that he did not believe in God. (obviously he ain't a Nigerian). I argued with him continuously, that back where i am from without God, you almost might not be able to live right. The argument went on for the whole day without any middle ground. Finally i rounded up the argument by saying "How would you believe in God, when you wake up in the morning and put on the switch and the light comes on, you get to the train station and your train is there, like it has been waiting for you all night, you do no need to store water for fear of it running out, that you are involved in a ghastly accident and some thing called insurance would take care of that". He in turn jokingly said, "wow, if that were a true picture even the devil will not need any biblical verse before believing" Our pastor's are only a minute part of the Nigerian story Please don't single them out. |
Interesting thread, but let me bore you guyz a bit. Everyone is criticizing the Pastor's (wait a minute, are these pastor's not part of the Nigerian Story) The same Nigeria, where money rules, People only listen to you when you have the cash to back your talk. Where the only way to be above the law is to be rich. Where there are no good roads and all the rich men must have a private jet to catch up with their appointments. Where on Friday the clubs and hang out are full and the same people equally fill the seats of the church on sunday. Where a Christian school owner told my sister (maybe because we ain't founding member's of the church), that her fees was peanut compared to the amount used in building the school and he could do as he pleases All the same i am a christian and a Nigeria and i would not stand anyone make sense of any of our pastor's (This is a family tradition and i would not be the first not to defend) I am willing to wait for God's judgement. |

d poster means: If Oga Paul can come out of retirement, then maybe ANPP or AC would win. just ask Germany (home country) and the DUTCH (3 times loser's) |
Sorry to disappoint you guys. Paul has resigned from predictions and has gone back to his old job. "making the kids happy". sorry people. |
A revolution definitely has to be the order of the day. However, how do we get there: Kidnapping, even duo i don't support, but these guys have taken us for a ride for far too long. Imagine A former Gov. of a state dieing from is own greed and his people had the gut to blame the govt, Just wait a min He looted and ensured that our general Hospital were mere consulting room (Thinking he would always get a first class ticket for any kind of medical issue be it the Yaradu's own or the Amechi small car crash). (A) He ensured that our roads are not given to viable contractor's after all he would always be flying even if the distance is form ota farm to Ikeja airport. (B) He did nothing about unemployment because he knew his family member's have enough loot and they would never take to arm robbery. (C) He only goes abroad for vacation and loot spending, because he has more respect at home (cuz of is looted wealth) and also he was waiting for another opportunity to steal more. (D) behold!!!. He wasn't God afterall. One day after he has left govt (D), he was at home when robbers paid him a courtesy visit (C), they left him in a state of shock in the middle of the night. So his driver rushed him by road (B) to a near by consulting room, (A) as the hospital was not well equipped and there he gave up the ghost. What a pity, his looted billions could not save him. This is a typical Nigerian Politician. RIP Abubarkar Rimi |
