Multichoice does not have an agreement with Nigeria but with the stations it broadcasts, to be the only one broadcasting these stations in Africa. What Nigeria did was simply to remove herself from that "Africa". which DSTV controls.

Multichoice obtained exclusive rights to air programmes such as The English Premier League, CNN, Discovery Channel and a host of others. meaning that for any other station to air these programmes, it must pay Multichoice which owns DSTV. But with the government stripping them of this right (at least in Nigeria) other local cable stations like FSTV and TREND TV can air these programmes without having to go through DSTV, a foreign company.

It's like giving NTA the exclusive rights to air programmes in the UK and asking SKY to buy from NTA.

We should stop being negative about our country and president and join hands in moving Nigeria forward. I totally support Transcorp and plan to become an investor without worrying about whether it fails or succeeds. But the success is up to us. If the South Koreans could support Hyundai and Daewoo to become what it is right now then i don't see why we shouldn't support our own mega coporation. I mean, these firms had the support of their governments those days. Even Airbus has the support of the European Governments in order to break the dominance of Boeing.

My point is " Let us Grow our own" and show the world what we're made of.

Last year i saw the movie "Fist of Legend" and i bowed. I think it's the best martial arts movie ever and Jet Lee's best. I just saw the movie "Kung Fu Hustle" and my jaw dropped. That is a master piece and i believe Stephen Chow deserves an Oscar.
