Few weeks ago, Olu Jacobs, Alex Usifo Omiagbo, Joke Silva, Tonto Dikeh, Stella Damasus, 2Face Idibia, P-Sqaure, Davido, 9ice, Banky W, Naeto C, Ali Baba Don Jazzy, Julius Agwu, AY among others were honoured with a Red Cross Society of Nigeria, ambassadorship deal.

Some Nollywood names have been screened out now and they include Stella Damascus and Tonto Dikeh.

According to reports, the duo didn’t meet the scrutiny standard of a Red Cross ambassador. The duo did not pass the health and personality exercise arraigned by the Society.

Tonto asides her heavy tattoos also had personality problems, especially the excess use of tobacco. While Stella was screened out from the race because of a recent marriage scandal between fellow actress Doris Simeon’s husband and her.

According to the Red Cross, personality reputation was necessary and such would not be welcomed by the Society.

Star singer Iyanya must be dancing to his own tunes after he signed an endorsement deal with telecoms firm MTN, said to be worth a whooping N60million.

The contract is said to run for a year, and includes sign on fee, performances and appearances for a whole year.

According to unconfirmed reports I got this morning from students of Obafemi Awolowo University, a female student of the school gave birth in the Moremi Hostel hall toilet and attempted to flush the baby but was caught my the hall cleaners.

They say the girl’s name is Oyin (let’s leave her surname out for now) and she’s a 400l student of Electrical and Electronics Engineering. The incident happened very early this morning.

According to a student of the school who sent in the photo, a cleaner heard a baby crying inside one of the toilet stalls and then saw blood coming from under the door. She quickly went to call other cleaners around and they forced the door open.

When the cleaners entered the toilet they saw the student pouring water inside the closet, the baby turned upside down, with the head inside the closet.

One of the women dipped her hand inside and removed the baby…a boy, who was still very much alive but bleeding from the nose. The cleaners called school management who rushed both the girl and the baby to Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital for treatment. The placenta fell while they were rushing the girl to the hospital.

Given the growth of SMS and the internet, the telegram has become an outdated means of communicaton, and is set to be finally shut down.

144 years after Samuel Morse sent the first telegram in Washington, the world’s final telegram will be sent in India on July 14, 2013.

Telegraph services ended in the United States seven years ago, but in India, the century-and-a-half old communication medium is still widely used to send messages. Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), India’s state-owned telecom company, recently printed a message reads, “GRANDMOTHER SERIOUS. 15 DAYS LEAVE EXTENSION,” according to the Christian Science Monitor.

Approximately 5,000 messages are sent every day by telegram in India, a service favored for its “sense of urgency and authenticity,” a BSNL official told the Monitor.

Once the world’s fastest form of communication, telegrams can no longer compete with text messaging and smartphones, however.

“We were incurring losses of over $23 million a year because SMS and smartphones have rendered this service redundant,” said Shamim Akhtar, general manager of BSNL’s telegraph services. The agency did not say what the contents of the final message would be.

The telegram industry was not always so bleak; at its peak in 1985, 60 million telegrams were exchanged across 45,000 offices. Today, only 75 offices exist, employing 998 people, down from 12,500 telegram employees in better years.

The telegram has also played a large cultural role in India, where they were first introduced by British doctor William O’Shaughnessy in 1850.

Referred to as “taar” or wire, telegrams are used as plot twists in many Bollywood films, often bringing news of a death in the family.

Telegrams were also key in aiding the British to defeat a revolt in 1857 and were used by Indian Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru to inform England of Pakistan’s invasion of Kashmir.

The Indian government is the primary user of telegrams, making up 65 percent of the market. However, the remaining 35 percent of users are the general public who sometimes use the service to send secret messages between eloping couples trying to escape their parents disapproval of their union.

One man was so upset over the telegrams’ expiration date that he threatened a Gandhian fast. “I am a regular user of the telegram and it is an important tool for activists,” he explained.

Despite this man’s protests, the final telegram will be sent somewhere in India this summer.

Kim Kardashian may have given birth to a healthy baby girl this weekend but the latest episode of her reality TV show proved her pregnancy was far from easy.

For Kim was rushed to the hospital after experiencing severe stomach pain in Sunday's episode of 'Keeping Up With The Kardashians.'

Viewers saw distraught Kim reduced to tears and in agony as she jetted into Los Angeles amid fears she had appendicitis.
nd the pain was so extreme Kim even said she did not want to go through another pregnancy.

'It was a really painful flight, it hurt so badly. I can hardly walk,' a tearful Kim told mum Kris on the show.

'I just don't understand it just hurts so bad, it kills,' said Kim as she was examined by her doctor.

'It feels like I am in labour. Why is this happening to me? I hate it, I can never do this again.'

But all was well as the doctor found the baby with a healthy heartbeat.

'I am just so relieved the baby is okay,' said Kim.

After blood tests doctors told Kim that she could have appendicitis and that she might face a risky operation.

But a second battery of tests revealed that Kim just had a stomach infection

'For her to be in this much pain scares me so much. I want her to relish this pregnancy it is the most amazing experience and I feel she is just not having that yet,' said Kris.
'If labor is worse than this I will hang myself, I will literally take a knife and slit my throat,' said Kim.

In the episode Kim finally managed to get her deposition done for her divorce to Kris Humphries.

'My divorce has definitely been dragging on for a while now and Kanye and I want it to be done by the time the baby gets here,' admitted a frustrated Kim.

'I really do not want to be married while I give birth to our baby. I have been trying to get it done for a year-and-a-half now.

'I am just so bothered and sad over this situation.'

Before her deposition Kim revealed she still cares about Humphries, despite not talking him for so long.
At our lunch break I am going to want to talk to him and say 'It literally never had to get like this,' said Kim.

'I like, loved you, I still do, you were a big part of my life. But you know we are not meant to be together, you weren't happy, I wasn't happy, we should have never rushed into it. It doesn't mean we cant like be friends.'

'I have not spoken to Kris for a year and a half, I am anxious see Kris, I hope this will maybe give him and I an understanding of his feelings and my feelings as we have not spoken in so long.'

But Kris did not show up and Kim was 'relieved' she was moving forward with the divorce.

During the episode other members of the Kardashian clan focused on guns and protecting the famed family.

Bruce Jenner brought up the subject after saying police officers had advised him to get protection
'There are a lot of wacko people in the world out there and I think I should have a gun in the house to protect me and my family,' said Bruce over a family dinner.

'The other day we had heavily armed police officers in our house after we were swatted. That is a good reason to get a gun in my house.'

And Bruce insisted that he would use the gun with deadly force if anyone broke into his home armed.

'Yeah I'd blow his ass away,' said Jenner.

But Kim was against the idea. 'I would never want a gun in my own home, that is really scary to me, I do not believe in them.'

Kris Jenner was also opposed, saying: 'No one is having guns in my house.'
