The yeye Revolution has turned to watery Protest.

Now all we hear is a pathetic "Free Sowore" nonsense.

Anyone expecting the government not to respond when failed politicians attempts to instigate violent to overthrow the government is mistaken.

The protest of today will be watched with keen interest. You do anyhow, you see anyhow.

You are a bloody coward. You want revolution, fear did not allow you to start it. Now that the Sowore has finished the 150 million he got during the election and Sahara blog is not paying, he is now looking for an excuse to create another GoFundMe account.

Since you just created this Revolution nairaland account, I guess you are among the scammers deceiving gullible folks.

For police to provide protester with protection, they are required to apply for it. Have these anarchists applied? No.

Oga Falana will be at his office tomorrow hustling, while some miscreants will be on the streets breathing teargas and lucky ones may get lead from the riot police.

Nonsense. Hope the Organizers also take full responsibility for any loss of lives and destruction of properties.

Or they just roll the dice on Anarchy, absorb themselves through this statement, unleash mayhem and see much damage can occur?

Any muumu that loses his life over this ill-conceived rampage will have him or herself to blame.

I believe State Police is good if designed for grassroot policing.

Take Local Government Autonomy for instance. Despite being backed by Law, see how Governors abuse them. Collect their funds and redistribute according to loyalty.

With State Police, many Governors will dress up their thugs and legitimise their activities.

We need it, it will definitely come. But it should not be an excuse for underdevelopment.

Take Bayelsa like most States, with their size and money coming in, we expect more development than we see.

your fear is only what might become of state governments wielding such powers but you turn a blind eye to the too much power by the executive arm & its abuse with it on other arms, groups & notable individuals.

you fail to appreciate the fact of the benefits of restructuring & state police being that we are so geopolitically divided.
we the people forced into this abomination called Nigeria deserve better don't we ?
and its said "whatever you desire is on the other side of fear".

just because a possibility of a risk can happen in venturing or agreeing to following a different system doesn't mean we shouldnt take it when we know how its benefits will solve numerous of our today's social problem..
its like taking a gamble.. the type where you cash all in hope of winning even with the awareness of the risk.

or is your patriotic opinion is that things remain the way they are
Increasing the power welded by States in the Federation can't be completely blamed for Governors embezzling allocation meant for development and owing months of salaries.

There is so much that needs to be done in Nigeria. But none implementation of State Police so Governors can wear there thugs official uniforms is not topping the list.

If Nigerians were completely in tandem with those that preached restructuring and state police during the electioneering campaign, they would have voted them to power during the election. But that didn't happen which means that those wishing so are in the minority. Or is it by force to have your way as against the wish of the majority?

Stressing the issue of restructuring, do you truly believe that those set of Nigerians truly mean what they were preaching? Personally I don't think so. Because the present government has just tested the waters by implementing local government, states houses of assemblies and states Judiciaries autonomy which means that governors should allow the local government, states houses of assemblies and state Judiciary to control their resources. But that is being flouted and abused by majority of the state governors across party lines, yet these same restructuring activists have since kept quiet instead of lending their voices to the same noble cause they cherished.
Exactly. Right on point.

Make una pity for me O!

See as una just dey mention my handle upandan. Chai!

Abeg O!

Meanwhile OP, the ballot box has failed.

The government of the day chooses the law to enforce or ignore.

We are having insecurity issues all over the place. With the beautiful landscape we've got in Nigeria, tourism has died a natural death because of this. This one hurts me the most because I love to travel a lot. Now, I can't even visit my friend who lives in Taraba as I don't even know what I'll meet on the highways or even over there with the clashes going on there at the moment.

How about the disrespect to the slain soldiers and their families as well as a military playing politics with the government of the day? As we speak, we do not even know the current situation with insurgency in the north. We only have press statements conflicting with reports of journalists. You be the judge on whose report is anything close to the truth.

The economy? Do I need to say more? We are not as populous as India but all indices have shown we are regressing very fast into poverty.

Nations like Algeria and Sudan have witnessed revolution by their citizens with a consequent change in government. The people are proud of what they did as they took their destinies in their own hands.

Why should ours be different?
We seem to forget that laws and government are made for the people by the people. In our case here, is this really true at the moment?

It's about time the people took the power back and direct it into effective use for their own benefit.

If a revolution will allow us have the power again, I'm all for it.
In fact, it should not be limited to the Central government alone but every other arm or strata of government that has been seen to evidently sabotage the people for its or their selfish interest. If you asked me, I'll also suggest we get to even oust the men in the house of assembly as well. They have all proven to be toothless representatives of the people.

My 2 Kobo.
We cannot support Sowore to disrupt public peace, endanger the lives of law-abiding Nigerians and bring anarchy to the land, just because he lost election.

Sowore is too young to be this desperate to the point of calling for a forceful overthrow of government. Not going to happen.

so the north & sw currently plagued by boko haram/I swap & Fulani herdsmen are enjoying what they voted in abi...

pls imagine this... a Lady in the north that voted buhari finds herself butchered at her local community, her home by the insurgents.. within that few minutes of death looking up to the sky..her final thoughts would be I gave my vote to a person in assurance that he will secure my life & that of my children but he failed. she could have died any other way but to insecurity she vested her voting power to secure that insurance of life from ethnic/political or criminal situations.

when the electoral system is perceived by many as rigged or designed to cancel out oppositions or eliminate a free & fair & elections with deaths occurring in the process... which lover of democracy will believe that their votes still count ?
