October, 5th, 2018 (Updated) The unilateral decision by the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress(APC) Comrade Adams Oshiomhole to grant automatic return tickets to national assembly members for the 2019 elections has hit the brick wall,Newsdiaryonline has learnt. Highly placed sources disclosed to Newsdiaryonline that President Muhammadu has informed Adams Oshiomhole to jettison the idea of automatic tickets for the members of the National Assembly which has pitted stakeholders, especially party governors against the party. In a strongly worded letter Oshiomhole was told in clear terms to allow “all those who have filed their nomination forms for various positions to participate in primaries of the party.” In other words, president Buhari has directed that “there should be no automatic ticket” for any aspirant. The president described the unilateral decision as a sad commentary of what the party stands for. He further directed Oshiomhole to urgently effect the decision. Insiders said this resolution was reached at meeting between President Buhari and the APC national chairman, Oshiomhole. Apart from overruling Oshiomhole’s plot to award automatic tickets, President Buhari has further directed that the primaries must be free and fair. High level APC sources confirmed to Newsdiaryonline that meeting between Buhari and Oshiomhole also resolved that the party’s National convention should hold on Saturday October 6 as earlier scheduled. As at Thursday night, party members who are aware of the president’s decision have accused Oshiomhole of failing to act on the presidential directive, particularly, the one urging him to ensure that all aspirants must be allowed to contest elections. http://www.networknews.com.ng/2018/10/apc-primaries-buhari-overrules.html |

Humility, Others gives Obahiagbon Senatorial Ticket ...Just like Adeleke danced his way to the Senate, we will also kneel our way there* Hon. Patrick Obahiagbon has clinched the ticket of APC to emerge flag bearer of the party in Edo South senatorial district. Obahiagbon who emerged through a democratic process has thanked the APC faithfuls in Edo South and assured them of a better representation through vocal voice. One can easily agree that the former member of the House of representatives surely has not knelt down in vain as humility has paid off despite critics of his kneeling down to receive prayers Obahiagbon responded to this and said Just like Senator Adeleke danced his way to the Senate and almost danced to become Governor, we will also not fail to kneel our way to the Senate, he said this is about respect, humility and service, if more elders can come together to offer him prayers then he is sure to be seen kneeling down a hundred times Obahiagbon who has made a very huge impact while he represented his people in the House of representatives has promised to perform better than how he has performed before, hence seek for support in the 2019 general election. *Our report card, Igodomigodo deserves our vote* *Igodomigodo; an achiever Edo South clamor to have* -Chris Osa There would have been no need coming up with this as we all know Hon. Patrick Obahiagbon to be an achiever who in time past has proven to always put the people's interest first, but for the record purposes it is important to bring to the notice of all how lucky Edo South will be to have Igodomigodo at the Upper Chamber representing his senatorial district effectively. Igodomigodo on making his interest to contest the position of Senate known to the public, some have come up to tell us how he will speak just grammar when he gets there, little did we know that the grammars comes with development, positive result, and inclusiveness. Igodomigodo's constituency projects while in parliament. 1) 5 block of classrooms with furniture at Obakhavbaye primary school 2)10 block of classrooms at Ogbe Ibuya primary school with furniture 3)Five block of classrooms at Oba Ewuare primary school 4)5 Block of classrooms at Payne primary school 5)Five block of classrooms at Owina primary school with furnitures 6)Provision of chairs and tables at Oza primary school ,Ezomo primary school , and Ohuoba primary school 7)Stringing of Electricity from Ogba to Umegbe, Iguikpe, Evborohun, Okpebor and Evbovbioba Provisions of Transformer for Umegbe and three other villages (will be added when we remember)9) Influenced the construction of Ehiozowanzogie street into NDDC budget and it has been constructed 10) Influenced Faith drive and it's adjoining street into NDDC budget and it has been constructed 11)Industrial Borehole with generator at Umegbe village 12) Industrial borehole with generator at Evbinyomanru village 13) Industrial borehole with generator at Irhirhi village 14)Borehole at Esigie (Hausa Quarters) 15)Borehole at Obakhavbaye 16)Borehole at Oba Akenzua primary school by 2nd cemetry to serve nineteen adjoining streets 17)Borehole at Idahosa street 18) Borehole at Ezomo(11)primary school at Omoruyi by 2nd cemetery 19)Provision of Solar Street lights at ; A) Ehaekpen street B) Omoigui Obasogie Avenue, C) Obakhavbaye stret up to Evbiemwen street D) Faith Drive,Off country home motel road 20) Deployed his Parliamentary goodwill in giving out over 30 jobs in places like Nigeria Civil Defense, Immigration and other federal organization 21) Gave out scholarships 22)Gave out over 500 BIKES AND GRINDING MACHINES to our women leaders These are some of his achievements and constituency projects in his short stay at the parliament, though not all, there are morethat we cannot recall at the moment and will be updated when recalled. *Edo sets up committee on child defilement, as police arrest 58-yr-old man for defiling 12-yr-old girl* The Edo State Government has set up a committee to check the incidence of child defilement in the state, in a renewed effort to strengthen the Child Rights Law to address issues of sexual abuse of children. Acting Chairman, Edo State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) and Special Assistant to the Governor on Basic Education, Dr. Joan Oviawe, disclosed this during a press briefing at the Government House, Benin City, when the state government handed over a 58 years old man, Mr. Lambert Ighodaro, to the State Police Command for prosecution for allegedly raping a 12 years old girl in Benin City, Edo State capital. Dr. Oviawe added, “After the case was reported by SUBEB to the Police, Mr. Lambert was apprehended by the Police.” She said, “This was after SUBEB received report of the incident from the class teacher of the 12 years old girl, who is a pupil in one of the primary schools. She had observed that the girl was always absent from school and contacted the girl's guardian to find out the cause of her absenteeism.” “The girl told her class teacher how she was being sexually abused by Mr. Lambert Ighodaro, in his house during school hours since 2017. She alleged that the man gives her money after defiling her,” she added. The SUBEB boss told journalists that the state governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, had set up an inter-ministerial committee to develop a framework to curb the incidence of child defilement in the state. She said the board is concerned about the wellbeing of pupils while in and out of school, noting that structures are being put in place to assist victims of rape overcome stigma, while the perpetrators are not only shamed but prosecuted. She said, “Teachers who were trained recently in the Edo Basic Education Sector Transformation (Edo BEST) programme, were trained on ways to identify children who have been abused physically and sexually.” Oviawe explained that the board was also investigating two other cases of sexual abuse involving an 11 years old girl and another eight years old girl. “The state government is reviewing existing Child Rights Law to strengthen the law made to combat all forms of abuses against children in the state,” she noted. photos http://www.networknews.com.ng/2018/05/edo-sets-up-committee-on-child.html

Though we are having issues because we are a progressive party but with a proactive leadership all the issues will be resolved. "They will be resolved in a win win situation. The Nigeria Police sealed Kano Assembly over plan to impeach speaker. It was gathered that as at Sunday night, 21 lawmakers had duly signed in support of the speaker’s impeachment. “We have already impeached the principal officers by having 21 lawmakers signed for their impeachment and we are needing only six members to make the requirement of 2/3 to impeach the speaker”, a lawmaker told Daily Trust. “The reasons are many but the major one is incompetency. We cannot just continue like that because we are representing our constituents.” Meanwhile, armed policemen have sealed the complex. Police Public Relations Officer, SP Magaji Musa Majia confirmed the deployment of operatives.
