Nairalanders you all should be careful when dealing with people.

The Internet is a world of its own when I'm done tarnishing this fraudster image he will sure get deported.

My aunt tried sending the money to me to Nigeria through western union but it always get cancelled so i decided to use this dude in USA and agreed he was going to credit me directly to my Naija account after pick up which he agreed and i even told him to take 15% and send the rest. This greedy idiot took everything and blocked me, i still can't believe nobelus would do such to me, money meant for my parents i can't even sleeping with at home again without my dad using words to hurt me and call me demeaning names like" Hungry thief" ur mates are working and you are stealing money your sister is sending to us.

I know that in life it is the individual ability of someone to succeed at large and be rich tomorrow. What you study may not be what will make you rich in the future.

I have a brother who is in great distress as to whether he should continue with the study of industrial chemistry or transfer to any department. He is currently in 200l and he has a good 100l result of GP 4.58.

Reason why he's in distress is because he didn't apply for industrial chemistry.

Not being in this field of study I can't say much but to seek council from those who are already in the field of Industrial chemistry/chemistry to please help me out on how to advice him.

Also talk more about the career prospect for an industrial chemist in Nigeria

Honestly there isn't much recently for scientist in Nigeria, the ground is not favorable... If his desire is to be in the medical field and to be a career inclined person, he should do so asap!! Retake jamb and start over! This might seem crazy but it is the best to avoid regrets later in future.

I tell you this because I was in his shoe 6years ago and didn't do this, since after graduation I have always regretted studying ICH..
I currently work but my mind is made up to start over with my first love 'Pharmacy'.

Summary : He should follow his passion and start over if need be. Years after he will be happy he made that decision.

Choosing to study nursing is a very good decision on your part. You will be able to secure a job and even move around different countries on a Nursing degree/diploma with the help of recruitment agencies (but you gotta work hard).

I would recommend studying via Netcare education (visit www.netcare.co.za/23/education-and-training). You will first need to write a standardized exam/test at OLG. If you pass, you begin the Netcare nursing program, if you dont get the required score, you will have to do something similar to "pre-degree" for one year, also at Netcare.

Now the advantage of netcare is that it has hospitals all over SA and in other countries abroad, so, you can choose to do your practicals at any hospital closest to your house. Another advantage is that you can also earn money while studying with netcare, once you complete the first year, you obtain a diploma and there are numerous job adverts for nursing assistants in their hospitals, every now and then. Alot of students rely on these jobs, you earn a decent wage and still get to earn your degree as well. So its a win-win situation.

However, before you even think of applying for admission, you need to evaluate your results at SAQA ( www.saqa.org.za), the evaluated credentials will be most useful in securing admission at Netcare or any other nursing colleges in SA.

Another good and reputable nursing college is Thuto Bophelo ( visit http://www.nursingacademy.co.za).

For accommodation, you will find your feet after a month or two during studies, you will find shared accommodation with your fellow students and share all bills. Just make friends and help and knowledge will come your way.

Lastly, another good course/program to study is Pharmacist Assistant. The good thing about all these courses is they give you practical training and you also earn money on the job

if there's any information else required, please ask and i'm sure everybody on this thread will be able to answer if they can.

All the best!

Thanks for this update... Id like to ask you some questions after reading thru

Welcome back, bro! I'm glad you had a wonderful time in Ghana. Looking at Nigeria from 'little' Ghana must have revealed a lot about Nigeria to you. I'm sure you now see how utterly disorganized, mismanaged, and dirty Nigeria is. Travelling is a form of education. In fact to me, travelling is the best form of education. Nigeria dey fall person hands no be small.

Traveling is very educative 100%.. I tell u, I have really learnt alot from this trip and it has made me want to challenge myself the more.

MORE OBSERVATIONS...

*Cab business tends to strive well here because there are lots of them here.

*Theres a perculiar gutter stench in Accra most especially the downtown. I really get this stomach upset whenever I'm outside

*They keep cats as pet

* I observed they don't have road side mai Shai... Indomie (I find tire).

*Fast internet... There are Wi-Fi everywhere even in business areas.

* They have skyscraping banks here!! God they are big and beautiful!

*transportation is quite cheap here.. You get a long distance drive with maximum comfort for as low as 10cedis.

Finally and sadly it was here! The day to say goodbye... Got up early at 5am and was at the park (ABC) at 6am.. Got our tickets for 200cedis each and left about 8am.

Hell of a ride it was to Lagos (Amowu Odofin), arriving at about 1am, slept in and continued to Benin this morning...

Hmmm ABC sha get as e be!! Pros and cons

Pros : No personal checks at border controls

Cons : THE BUS IS DIRTY AND SMELLS!! THEY HAD TO SWITCH OFF THE AC MIDWAY CLAIMING IT WAS FAULTY.

Quickly we boarded a taxi back to our hotel (10cedis) and it was an exhausting day! Had our bath immediately and jumped in the swimming pool to cool off the stress wink .. Me no Sabi swim sha I just dey form bad guy lol grin

It was getting cold for me I ran inside for warmth and behold I met two Australian med students (beautiful ladies) who just came in, we did some introduction and had a good cheer before going out for dinner at about 10pm.

Already my partner had invited our Nigerian friend to join.. We had a great time with the locals being our last night there it was memorable.

He had their local disk *banku n I was just starring because I wouldn't try any local food again. I was only able to do chicken and vanilla milkshake and got back about 1am.

It was fun all the way!!!

Apologies for this last post.. Journey so far has been a stressful one.

On Sunday after having breakfast and a little rest we got out again hoping to see something new from our wanderlust adventure.. We got a taxi for 10cedis to Independence Square (2nd time for me) the walked down to Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park (buh he didn't want to enter cos of time) and further down to the famous JAMES TOWN!

This is a different story of its own under Accra, having the very ghetto look and smell and relics of colonialism.

We didn't do much sight seeing here because it was getting dark and we had to be very security conscious.
Here was like a place where everything happens even gay practice.. Yes!!

Not wasting too much time we took some photos of James Fort prison, Light house, and some street views and ocean (beach) view

OBSERVATIONS...

* These people love cats!!!! Scary!!

* I was shocked to see these NigeriƩn children in Circle begging for alms like they do in Nigeria.

* Ghanaians don't travel as much as we do.

* This controversial debate between Naija jollof n Ghana jollof... Hmmm I ate Ghana jollof as lunch today n it was ok.

* Ghanaians do have the feeling of being intimidated if the visit Nigeria but some do wish to come.

* Most big business here are owned by whites!! And they feel so free.. No hassle.. Just love it!
* 90% of vehicles on the road are taxis!!! Which is a major business here.

*Most Ghanaians take Saturdays off (talking about privately owned businesses). It was a hard nut to crack for us yesterday.

*Yes! Light is constant

Will update when I remember others...

Stay tuned.
