1. During a public lecture at Johns Hopkins University in the US, Obi claimed Nigeria's poverty situation to other countries is the worst in the world
He said Nigeria fell off economically within 25 years, and that Nigeria now has more poor people than China, Indonesia, and Vietnam combined.
He also said the fate of a nation is tied to quality of leadership, and lamented "poor leadership over the years". (What is he trying to do ? Paint the country in a bad light,yet wants to rule a poverty forsaken country !

2. Claim about rural poverty and malnutrition - May 2025 at Pa Edwin Clark's memorial lecture in Abuja, Obi said: "That report has just shown 75% of Nigerians in rural areas are poor" and " that Nigeria now has over 2 million malnourished children, the second highest in the world".
His submissions were "skewed" and clearly painted Nigeria negatively abroad.

3. Comments on democracy and elections
Obi told the whole world that "We have a country now that is not democratic. We are not a democratic country".
He also called the Edo State local government election "fraudulent" and said "We’ve turned the country into a crime scene".
These statements sends dangerous signals to the world that democracy is dead in Nigeria,yet you refused to conduct common local elections for good 7 years as governor and still aspire a country without democratic governance!
