Senior Special Adviser to the Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, Chief Derin Adeniyi, has emerge the All Progressives Congress (APC) chairman in the state.
Adebiyi, who emerged unopposed, with a total of 1712, out of the total 1730 votes cast at the party's State Congress, held at the June 12 Cultural Centre, Abeokuta, promised to carry out an all inclusive politics.

He attributed the peaceful conduct of the congress to the exceptional leadership quality of the governor, saying the era of indiscipline in party politics is over.

Commending Amosun for how he was able to ensure.the growth of the party, he expressed optimism that the APC will emerge victoriou, with a landslide victory in the 2019 polls.

In his welcome address, former party Chairman in the state, Alhaji Tajudeen Lemboye, thanked the party for the opportunity given him and his team to serve, appealing to the newly elected party executive members to continue the good work and keep the party's flag flying.

The State Congress Chairman for the state, Rev. Peter Obadan, who announced the result, in his speech, appreciated party faithful and delegates for peacefully conducting themselves in a manner that ensured the victory of the congress.

He noted that success without a worthy successor is a failure, adding that the turnout, unity and harmony, witnessed, was a pointer to the fact that the party is ready to elect a worthy successor to Amosun.

The governor, in his address, appreciated the delegates and party faithful for the successful outcome of the congress, urging the Adebiyi-led executive to work towards building a formidable party.

Nigeria has been projected to add no fewer than 189 million people to its present population between 2018 and 2050, the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (DESA) has said.

UN, in a new report: ‘2018 Revision of World Urbanisation Prospects’, projected that around 2.5 billion more people would be living in cities by 2050.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that DESA in earlier report said:

“By 2050, the third most populous country will be Nigeria, which currently ranks seventh, and which is poised to replace the U. S.”.

“Together, India, China and Nigeria will account for 35 per cent of the projected growth of the world’s urban population between 2018 and 2050…

“It is projected that India will have added 416 million urban dwellers, China 255 million and Nigeria 189 million,” DESA said.

The UN department said by 2050, two out of every three people are likely to be living in cities or other urban centres, highlighting the need for more sustainable urban planning and public services.

Owing to both demographic shifts and overall population growth, that means that around 2.5 billion people could be added to urban areas by the middle of the century, predicts DESA predicted.

The report also estimates that by 2030, the world could have 43 so-called megacities – up from 31 today, according to reports.

Lagos Commissioner of Police, Mr Imohimi Edgal has said there would be no restriction of movement for females in today's Oro Day in Ikorodu as it is being speculated.

A statement signed by the Command's PPRO, SP Chike Oti said that it was agreed at a meeting called by Mr. Edgal and attended by the Ayangburen of Ikorodu, Oba Kabiru Shotobi, Palace Chiefs and the Commissioner for Local government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Alhaji Muslim Folami,hat there would be no restriction of movèment for female during the age long tradition today. Quoting the Oba, he said, "it is unthinkable for a man with his level of exposure to do or say anything that would be seen as discriminatory against the female gender.

The festival would hold without denying the female folks their right of freedom of movement". He added "the Command will not tolerate any discriminatory tradition against the female gender.

He warned that the Command would deal ruthlessly with anybody who hide under the guise of custom or tradition to forment trouble in the state. He therefore enjoined women to go about their lawful business without let or hindrance".

The pilot made the disclosure on Monday after he was presented his cash worth of 25 million Naira and a car.

The pilot said he will use part of the money to embark on a training to get his licence as a commercial pilot.
“I just finished my private pilot licence training and was planning to do the commercial pilot licence training but I was having issues with funds,” said the reality TV star.

“Now, God has blessed me with funds, so, obviously, I will go for the CPL training.
