Health / Advantages Of Being Black Or Dark Skin- malanin by newslife: 7:54am On Oct 05, 2014 |
For those of us who use bleaching cream to whiten the dark skin, i have something to tell us about the dark skin; Essential to Brain, Nerve, and Organ Function In humans, melanin is the primary determinant of skin and hair color. However, few people know that melanin is found in almost every organ of the body and is necessary for the brain and nerves to operate Free Radicals/Destroys Free Radicals Free radicals have been implicated as the cause of widespread damage to human cells. In an article written for The Sun and Your Skin website, Diana Clarke, the website’s founder, writes about melanin’s role in scavenging free radicals, preventing the skin damage they can cause. the eyes to see, and the cells to reproduce. It is also found in the stria vascularis of the inner ear. In the brain, tissues with melanin include the medulla and pigment-bearing neurons within areas of the brainstem, such as the locus coeruleus and the substantia nigra. It also occurs in the zona reticularis of the adrenal gland. so from this little benefits of dark skin you agree with me that we Africans are blessed and, naturally, this shows that we that have dark skin is more brilliant than the white bodies, we need to work hard to develop ourselves and our nation, stop destroying your skin my brother and sister and realize that with it you can survive in any Environment thanks and feel free to share 1 Share

Celebrities / Too Bad: Another Boat Capsizes Inlagos Two Bodies Recovered, 14rescued by newslife: 7:22am On Oct 03, 2014 |
Sad one, another boat has capsized in Lagos resulting in the recovery of 2 bodies and rescue of 14 others .The wooden boat capsized on Wednesday night, in Igando area of Lagos. The deceased were identified as those of one Fatima, a female and Mr. Idowu Lawal. Fourteen others were reportedly rescued by local divers with the assistance of policemen attached to Igando Police Division.According to Vanguard ,the Tragedy occurred at 8p.m.,shortly after the boat, said to be heading for Imoshe in Ogun State, took off from Akesan. The exact number of passengers that boarded the boat was not ascertained. But it was gathered that immediately it took off, it tagged along with another wooden boat carrying two passengers, in order to withstand the tide. But it apparently could not. Some of the panic-stricken passengers were said to have jumped out of the boat before it capsised. Those that could swim escaped to the shore, while others were said to have been rescued by local fishermen. It was also gathered that none of the passengers was wearing life jacket. When Vanguard arrived the scene yesterday, policemen from Igando Division were sighted combing the river for any victim. Police sources hinted that the case was never reported by the canoe operators. Police sources said: “They deliberately refused to report the case to the Police because they wanted to hide the incident from us. As we speak, families of the deceased have not come to the station to report either.” Vanguard gathered from a relative of one of the deceased, who simply gave her name as Omolara, that she was yet to see her brother’s corpse.According to her, she got a call from one of the boat operators, informing her about the incident but was sternly warned never to involve the Police. One of the deceased, Lawal, was said to have been rushing home to his pregnant wife when the tragedy occurred. According to Omolara, “Lawal was a mechanic. He had three children. His pregnant wife called him on the phone to rush home that she was in labour. I believe he decided to take this route so as to get home early. Ordinarily, he had a phobia for river. “The challenge we are confronted with is how to get his recovered bodies. I cannot find the person that called me on phone. He has absconded with the body out of fear of being arrested by the Police.” The second deceased, Fatima, a petty trader, was said to have gone to buy jewelries which she intended to sell before Salah celebration tomorrow.Another relative was seen wailing as he claimed he was yet to see one Michael. Police sources hinted that two boat operators have been arrested with a view to helping with information on how to get the recovered bodies and detailed account of what happened.

Celebrities / The Triple-breasted Woman Kept Me As Sex Slave Teenage Boy Laments by newslife: 8:10am On Oct 01, 2014 |
This is serious, a teenager says triple- breasted model Jasmine Tridevil kept him as a sex slave and tried to carve her name into his chest with a steak knife. Michael Squier, 18, claims Tridevil - whose real name is Alisha Hessler - invited him to come stay with her in Tampa, Florida, after they met online while discussing sexual fetishes. But he claims after he arrived he was made to sleep in a dog cage and wear a collar which read 'slave'. Squier said he lived in constant fear of beatings and during one encounter Tridevil started to carve her name in his chest with a steak knife. In a video interview, he showed his scars to the camera saying: "It's just a straight line as you can see. I was screaming when she did it." "But she wouldn't stop, she said I should stop being a p***y. "She then got an idea to start carving her name into my chest. I think after enough begging she stopped." Tridevil shot to global fame after pictures and video of her emerged with what appeared to be three breasts. The 21-year-old masseuse claims she paid £12,000 for a plastic surgeon to add a third boob. She claims she was turned down by more than 50 doctors who refused to "break the code of ethics" before one agreed to carry out the surgery. Michael Squier says he was made to wear a dog collar and scared with a knife by Tridevil But critics have since claimed the whole saga his a hoax. Squier said the third boob is a prosthetic which Tridevil is able to fix onto her chest with "some kind of glue". "She had multiple prosthetic boobs because she was quite a bit of a slob. They would get dirty and she would refuse to wear them," he said. "I thought it was real up until a point. I was always sceptical because she wouldn't let me touch it and she would always complain about it hurting. "The time I realised for a fact, she turned her back to me, took off her shirt. I saw her reach up to her chest and I heard a ripping sound. Then she took the boob and threw it on the floor." Tridevil has denied Squier's claims on her Facebook page, describing them as "ridiculous". Happy independence day

Health / Ebola: Don Recommends Insects As Substitute For `bush Meat by newslife: 11:59am On Sep 23, 2014 |
Onitsha (Anambra) – Prof. Chukwunenye Anene, on Tuesday advised Nigerians to harness insects as alternative rich sources of protein to other sources of protein or `bush meat’ causing Ebola Virus Disease (EVD). Anene, who is the Dean, Faculty of Natural Sciences in Anambra State University, gave the advice in an interview in Igbariam near Onitsha, Anambra. The don said that with targeted research it would be possible to convert and harness some insects to produce rich protein for a very large population. Anene, who is a Professor of Entomology and Insect Pest Management, noted that it was regrettable that very delicious and well-known sources of protein (animal meats) in Africa, especially West Africa, are today dreaded by people. “Insects should no longer be called pests but treated fairly as food substances and alternative source of protein. “And where the regular protein from meat is been jettisoned by many, insect could as well replace these sources of protein for man. “So there is a need for a co-ordinated research in this direction since it had been found out that some insects, which are helpful to man, have high protein content,’’ he said. Anene, however, urged humans to stop the indiscriminate killing of insects as they play vital role in the existence of man. The don also advised to health workers not to subdue all insects at the same time through their in-door and out-door non-selective residual spraying as well as other unhealthy environmental practices. Some Africans, especially those in the West Africa, have stopped eating animal meat from the wild (bush meat), which is an available and rich source of protein, due to the EVD traceable to some wild animals. WHO has reported that the disease has claimed the lives of about 2,500 people in the West African region since it broke-out in March. (NAN) |

If you are desperately in search of a sugar mummy, then search no more as controversial actress turned singer, Cossy Orjiakor has come to your rescue. The busty actress said, her male fans wouldn’t let her be, as they want her to be their sugar mummy. On that note, the actress has reeled out some criterion for considering them.Yes they have actually been disturbing me for that. But I told them that if you must be my sugar boy there is need for you to be a good cook, a good house boy and a driver. I have even asked some of them to send a picture of themselves cooking in the kitchen and what they are preparing. But they weren’t sending the picture I want. At the moment, none of them is qualified to be my sugar boy. If they had qualified, I would have employed at least three of them and placed them on salary, she said.
