Our desire to create cash crops hubs (CCHubs) in different geopolitical zones of Nigeria took us on a sojourn to Iyanomo village (Ovian East LG) in Edo state.

The cocoa pods pix in the accompanying picture is a sample of cocoa harvest from the village without use of any chemical fertilizer.

We had a very fruitful discussions with the elders & youths representative of the village & they are ready to accommodate us by earmarking 1,000 acres of virgin tropical rain forest for our CCHub project.

The villagers grow cocoa, oil-palm & banana/plantain in commercially.

The advantages of this location are:

✔️Accommodating host
✔️Cheap farmland
✔️Cheap labour
✔️No theft (nobody steals farm produce in this village)
✔️Easy accessibility directly on Benin-Lagos expressway (40 min drive from Ring road, Benin)

The site shall be one of our CCHub-Cocoa (CocoaVillage) & oil-palm.

If you are a farmer from Edo state & you plan to retire back home, this location is very good.

Yes, u can. However, your machine must have a minimum of 2.2hp engine to drive it. Or else, it will be like using beatle car as towing van. It will work, but, it will break down often

I remember watching a tech documentary on BBC once which highlighted that most of the street views and maps of Ghana were carried out by a young startup run by youths like you and me. The participants realized their country was not represented on Google and decided to map out the areas by themselves, submit the results to Google via the internet and then wait for them to approve their findings.
True to form Google sent a team to physically cross-check the accuracy and the result is what you're seeing here.
In a country with a higher population and most people who claim they are educated it is funny we'll rather banter about the government than take such an initiative. This is not a case of government-anything because the white man has put the power in our hands. We should only reach out and grab the opportunity.
I forgot to add, Google hired the startup to cover the rest of Ghana in their absence. See how people chose to employ themselves.

Kudos to your thoughts & post. Common sense is not common. While some are wailing & ranting, smart guys are thinking how to pull themselves out of poverty using available tools at their disposal

Hello Sir, Yes, we hv been a bit quite because of farming activities & because rain-fed planting season in SW is almost over & I will not advice any farmer to plant rain-fed maize again as from next week.

Be as it may, our FS is OP-LNTV (open pollinated low nitrogen tolerant variety), hence will do well with minimal fertilizer.

In most cases, when pple buy & they get results, they tend to keep quiet. But, will readily blow whistles if it doesn't work for then.

We don't sell beans & all our FS have minimum germination rate or viability of 90%.
