I hope the police is already on this case, because crimes cannot be solved by committees alone. The Nigerian Police is the one charged with a duty to deal with crime investigation, not any "high powered committee".

Why are Nigerian law enforcement and military fond of destroying evidence by burning? Seal the place up and keep an eye on it, additional suspects could show up. Or seal the place up and leave it, further evidence may be needed as investigation proceeds...even years later, there may be need to visit the site and get further clues.
