Make una dey deceive una self. When was the platform launched? Marketing stunt. But I pray you will go far. Just be focused. |
@ nefertitiram, thanks for the invaluable information and interventions. Sorry I was becoming a pain in the ass. It's kinda scary to have a mental picture of those hrs. Thanks also to others who have helped especially the creator of the thread. |
LadyGuinivere:Thank you. It did not occur to me I could stay for one or two days in Dubai before proceeding to Chicago. So is there a way I could book a flight ticket in Nigeria that can cover that itinerary? I mean a ticket that will allow me wait for two or three days in Dubai before proceeding to Chicago. Thank you for your useful advice and interventions. |
'If enough money no dey' |
Maybe I go wait find money join joor or bone the thing if enough money dey. No thanks to my cashflow problem. |
Lol. No o Emirates own wan reah 22hrs self |
@nefetitiram and others pls see the attached screenshots above. The first is Qatar and the second Emirates. If you look closely you'll discover that coming back from Chicago to Doha on Qatar airlines takes more than 21 hrs. How does one sit in a plane for 21 hrs. I dey fear o. If na only me I no go mind but I'm going with children and wiffy. To make matter worse, the layover after that journey is like 12 or 13 hrs before leaving for MMA Lagos. How do people do this. Na wa o. I thought Emirates will be better but it's only a little different from Qatar airlines. I think that one na like 18 or 19 hrs. Do you get my drift now? |

Good evening everyone. I tried booking online for a journey to Chicago but was surprised when I checked the itinerary and discovered that the jouney back to Lagos from Chicago will be a long one. On Qatar airways it's 21 hrs from Chicago to Doha. Then some 12 or 13 hrs to Lagos from Doha. It's worse on Emirate airline. Then I ask is this how people do it? Traveling from Lagos to Benin alone dey make my leg swell let alone a distance of 21 hrs. Na wa o. I discovered it's faster while going than while coming. Am I missing something? I need some education. |
OmoBendel24:Thanks. |
@pidggin thanks. I'll be going to the USA not Europe. |
Thank you all for your replies. Payi on Monday morning. I hope it won't be too early to pay for a journey that one will embark on in August. I mean can I still get good offer if I wait for another month or two before paying? I need experienced travellers to help out. |
@omobendel, am I to choose the aircraft while paying for ticket? |
[quote author=OmoBendel24 post=41999571]I haven't, but I believe they should be cool. Airlines from that axis are always correct. I have used Emirate and Etihad, very long trip though! I read about the other airlines complaining about the edge they have because of their government (Arab oil money intervention and subsidy) coming to assist them. Deliberately ensure you fly the A380 or 787 though. The planes on the African particularly Nigeria route can be annoying though (almost all airlines going to their home country for transit purpose)[/quotet]thank you. I was wondering if it's practice to choose among the aircraft while paying for ticket. I'm asking because you ask me to fly the A380 or 787. Thanks in anticipation of your response. |
profkehinde:Thank you |
Pls has anyone travelled with Qatar airways here before? What's the experience like especially for a family of four. I like to know cos it appears they have the cheapest offer. I know in many cases cheap things come with their shortcomings. Your views especially from experienced persons will be appreciated. |

'If you haven't been.'I meant to write in my first sentence above |
If you've been through something you probably don't know how it feels. It's a serious issue and can be very embarrassing. I've been there and I know what it means. Many time you forget something you just did. Like for example you just closed the door. Seconds/minutes later you start thinking if you've closed. It's difficult to remember until you go back and check. You leave the kitchen to take the car key in the room. You get to the room and keep asking yourself what you came to take. You now have to think back to remember you came to the room for the car key. You are in church but you can't concentrate. You're praying but you're thinking of another thing. Your mind is somewhere else. You find these things embarrassing and you feel you need deliverance. You get to the deliverance ground but you mind is somewhere else when the prayers are going on. You just read a book but you forget almost everything you read. The names, the dates etc. You put things on fire and forget almost immediately. You only remember when it gets burnt. You want to dial a number but you forger whose contact you're looking for in your phone. To be sure, I sat my SSCE in 1993 and had nine distinctions in one sitting. If you find out I skipped some words in my sentences here it's part of the symptoms. I started noticing sharp and unexplained decline in my ability to comprehend and memorize things in my final year in school. Passing my final exam was a struggle. I haven't written other competitive exams since then. The story is a long one. NOW TO YOU THE OP, THE FIRST THING YOU SHOULD BE DOING TOMORROW IS TO MEET WITH YOUR DOCTOR. I CAN GUARANTEE YOU NEED HIM URGENTLY. TRUST ME |
Hi Lagos NIV, I have a case that requires urgent attention. I'm doing this on behalf of a friend. He chose 9th October for interview date for visit visa and not until yesterday did he get to know ,while checking his mail box, that the interview date had been moved backward to 2nd October. This got us confused as I never heard of this before and my friend didn't envisage this. I have heard of cases where interview had been moved forward in the past. I have even read it here but backward shift is alien to me. Please I need to know what can be done as it is now. Can there be any intervention from the embassy? This is for a family of five. I will appreciate if I can be furnished with possible solutions to this |

Hahahaha. How else do you want the interviewers to know you can cope with stress and difficult customers? I can wager you'll get the job except there's none In the first instance. You come across as one confident dude. If I have a job to give, you will have it. |
I seldomly write here but I have to. I assume your question is genuine. I know of many bankers( you can call them casual staff if you like) who will jump at this offer like a monkey. |
@cmeo, I was in the 7:30 batch. Was your wife given? |
@cmeo, I was in the 7:30 batch. Was your wife given? |
Sorry I couldn't come back here as promised yesterday. The journey was very hectic so all I could do was to sleep when we came back. VO: good morning Me&my wife: good morning VO: what a cute baby(I was carrying my second daughter) me: thanks VO: what do you do Me: I'm a business owner VO: what do you do? (to my wife) My wife: I'm a teacher VO: what do you teach? My wife: Mathematics VO: oh! We need more of you VO: have you travelled outside the country before? Me: No VO: okay okay no problem VO starts typing on his computer for few minutes and I kept wondering what he was typing. In the end he handed us a white sheet of paper and asked us to pick up our passports next week. My observations: 1) I strongly believe the VOs do background checks 2) I think in many cases, their minds are already made up whether or not to give visa before you get there 3) If the VO is convinced you are qualified you will be granted the visa irrespective of your travelling history. I don't have any. The farthest I have travelled before was Benin republic in 1996. 4) your success or otherwise at interview starts with the filling of DS 160 form. I think it's structured to reveal inconsistencies. If you are literate, you should fill the form yourself. There's no crime in seeking help but you should know what is therein. 5) I don't know the role the way you dress plays in your success or otherwise at interview. People dress in different manner of ways. Just be neat. I saw a man on jean and sandals being given while another gorgeously dressed woman was being denied. 6) I listened to some people being interviewed and their stories didn't just add up at all. So many inconsistencies. You can always predict the outcome. Don't talk too much. Don't try to impress the VO. They are probably not impressed. They are pressed for time. Answer your questions as simple as possible. 7) Finally, let's not abuse the system. If we're granted tourist visa let's endeavour to come back so we don't deny genuine others the opportunity to be granted visas. thank you for reading. |
I have been coming to nairaland for 6 years now but no as a registered member. I started reading this thread since July when I submitted my US visa application. It had been very informative and I felt I should register just for the reason of sharing my experience here. I had my interview today at Abuja embassy. I intend to share with the house my observations. I will be back please. I'm in Lokoja heading for Akure. I promise to do justice to it when I het home. Thanks |
