Sports / How Manchester United Can Repeat Premier League History After 5-1 Win by ngoziclara: 10:41pm On Aug 14, 2021
Manchester United were impressive in their first game of the 2021/2022 English Premier League season following their 5-1 trashing of Leeds United.

Bruno Fernandes and Paul Pogba were the main stars of the August 14th match as the hat-trick from Fernandes and four assists from Pogba made it easy for the Red Devils to crush Leeds at Old Trafford.

Fernandes scored the opener in the 30th minute giving Manchester United team the lead at the first half. However, the score line was leveled 1-1 when Luke Ayling equalized for Leeds on return to the second half at the 48th minute.

Mason Greenwood scored Man United’s second goal at the 52nd minute, which was followed by two more goals from Fernandes at the 54th and 60th minute. Fred scored the last goal of the match at the 83rd minute, bringing the score line to 5-1.

Interestingly, it is only two times Manchester United have recorded 5-1 win in an opening day of a Premier League season in their history. The last time they did (against Fulham in 2006), they won the Premier league title of the season.

In that match in 2006, Wayne Rooney scored two goals, Cristiano Ronaldo and Ryan Giggs scored a goal each while Ian Pearce scored an own goal.

If Manchester United continue with this impressive performance and eventually win the Premier League title at the end of this season, then it would be a repeat of history recorded during the 2006/2007 campaign book.

The question now is: Can this Manchester United team under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer bring the EPL title back to Old Trafford?
Only TIME will tell!

Politics / Ngozi Okonjo-iweala And Nigerian Men by ngoziclara: 2:58pm On Feb 19, 2021
I have read several social media posts from many Nigerian men telling women to emulate Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, dress like her and stop being slay queens.

FIRSTLY, I actually agree that we should emulate NOI our new WTO DG. Her achievements are tremendously inspiring.

But, if all women emulate her now, you people will also come back to social media to complain that women are no longer staying at home and cooking for their husbands and children.
You will say women are just traveling around the world, working on their careers and abandoning their homes.

Most of you men don't even know what you want. If you want a woman like NOI, there are many out there. Many decent career women are there. But you must also be ready to give her all the freedom NOI's family gave her to grow her career.
25 years in World Bank and 2-term Finance Minister no be for mouth oo.

Most times NOI had late night meetings in Aso Rock and other places and couldn't return home for the night.

We love Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala and she inspires many of us. But, every woman cannot be like her and NO woman can be her except her!

SECONDLY, I wonder a lot, why men like to police women and tell them how they should live their lives? Why?
As if the lives of men are so perfect! How many problems do women even cause?

The energy put in policing women, if men use it to police themselves and their fellow men, the world will be a safe and stress-free place to live in.

We have a lot of bandits terrorizing us. They are ALL MEN!

We have hoodlums mugging people everyday. 99% Men!

We have thugs in our motor parks, 99.9% men!

We have rapists everywhere raping women and little girls! Rapists are 90% men!
We have governors stealing and looting Nigeria dry, ALL Men!

We have lawmakers robbing constituency allowances, 89% men!

We have local govt chairmen looting at the LGA level, 90% men!

We have MEN getting women pregnant and abandoning their kids to suffer alone with their mothers, forgetting that fathers play important roles in the lives of children.

There are too many problems men bring upon Nigerians EVERYDAY. We should all be worried about that! Proper training of boys and young men should be talked about EVERYDAY!

So, men should start policing themselves and be better persons so that our nation can be a better place.

The clothes women wear is not what is taking Nigeria backwards. It is bad leadership and men make up 95% of the leaders in Nigeria!

Thank you!

Crime / Just In: Imo-based Lawyer Butchered To Death In His Office by ngoziclara: 5:21pm On Feb 07, 2021
An Imo-based lawyer, identified as N.H. Nwankwo, Esq has been found butchered in his office located at 43 School Road, Owerri, Imo State.

It was gathered that Nwankwo went to his office on Saturday, but failed to return home prompting his family to call his colleague to check up on him. On Sunday morning, his colleague arrived at the office and saw blood traces on the locked door of Nwankwo’s office. So, he immediately went to get the police to open the door and they found the lifeless body of the lawyer who was obviously butchered with a cutlass.

In a statement released on Sunday, February 7, Secretary of Imo State branch of Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Chinedu Agu gave the chilling account of how the deceased was found dead in his office.

Read the full statement below.

FROM THE SECRETARIAT OF NBA OWERRI.
N.H NWANKWO, ESQ. MURDERED IN COLD BLOOD!

At about 8.15am today on my way to Church for 8.30am Mass, I received a call from the Chairman of the Bar, J.I Ogamba, Esq. detailing me to liaise with the former Secretary of the Bar, Ishmael Nkwocha Esq., to take Police to N.H Nwankwo & Co. at 43 School Road Owerri, to ascertain the safety of N.H Nwankwo, Esq. who left home for work yesterday Saturday the 6th day of February, 2021 and was yet to return from work.

However, earlier to the call, Ishmael Nkwocha, who shares same office space with him had, in response to frantic calls from his family members over the uncertainty of his whereabouts, gone to his office to meet same locked. On opening the Entrance door, he met Nwankwo’s main office locked and with traces of blood on the door to his (Nwankwo’s) office.

Not very sure of the situation he went to the Homicide Section of the State CID, going with him Forensic Experts from the Police Headquarters to the office to have it properly opened by themselves in order not to contaminate evidential materials.

When the forensic experts arrived at 9:56hrs with their gadgets, they opened the door only for us to find his bulky frame lying lifeless inside his office in a pool of his congealed blood.

On a closer inspection, Nwankwo appeared to have been savagely matchetted by his Assailant, as a very gaping cut was seen on his neck, a monstrous cut of not less than of about 30cm with only about less than 50percent of the flesh in his neck region holding the head.

Blood splashes were seen on the roof, fans, Printer, Computers, table, files, seats, books, bookshelves inside his office suggestive of a ferocious matchetting of his neck.

Nwankwo was suspected to have been busy working as his Printer, Computer, Standing Fan were on while a writing pad containing jottings unrelated to this incident and a Pen were found on his Desk.
A bucket of water was seen in his office, with which the Assailant must have washed his hands and Matchet used in this act.

A search of the office revealed a Matchet abandoned inside the Toilet of his office with which the Assialant was suspected to have used to cut his neck.
When his body which lay half prostrate was turned matchet cuts were seen on his Wrist also and the footprints captured by forensic experts suggested the act was done by two persons as the two footprints were unidentical.

As at the time of this Provisional report, Forensic Experts are still gathering evidential materials for their use accompanied by myself, L.C Ugorji, Uche Osuji, Ishmael Nkwocha, J.I Ogamba, D.O Nosike and a host of other Lawyers.

Meanwhile, his Driver, who reportedly was the only person with him in the office on Saturday, is at the time of this report at large, with Nwankwo’s phones, and Car no where to be found.
Arrangement has just been concluded to take the lifeless body to the Morgue. This is one death too many; one murder too savage!

Culture / Beautiful Igbo Lady Defends Pythons (eke), Says Killing Them Is A Curse by ngoziclara: 3:03pm On Jun 14, 2019
A beautiful Igbo Lady known as Chidinma Ofoegbu has come to the defense of Pythons and the traditional Igbo belief system. Pythons are known in Igbo as Eke. And, it is seen as a scared entity in many parts of Igboland, especially in many communities in Anambra state.

Eke is believed to be a guardian “Angel” or a messenger from the gods in Communities where it is revered. Thus, it’s forbidden to be killed. In most cases, anybody that kills a Python is forced to organise a Burial Ceremony for it.

Chidinma took to her Facebook handle to express her disappointment towards people who kill Pythons in Igboland and told them to stop because they are bringing curse upon curse on themselves.

Read what she wrote on Facebook below:

Eke is a sacred animal and a messenger of the gods. This is why some villagers don’t kill it up till today. My people have been brainwashed, that’s why fa jiri hapu omenaala , emezi omenelu.

Some will brag of how Eke is their favourite meat without knowing that they are bringing a curse upon their generations.

This very animal is not just an animal, it does not look for trouble. Sometimes it can come unexpectedly into your compound, the next thing is to seek for AFA to know why the sudden appearance.

Do you know that in the olden days, our mothers do leave their children at home for market and call on eke to come and guide them till they are back from the market.

When they leave, the Eke will majestically come out from the bush to guide the children. Eke hardly bite, it doesn’t hurt but might be so wicked to a bad person. Ufodu ndi ojoo jizi maka Anya ukwu were mebezie mpu, killing and eating it so that it will stop visiting them when dey do bad.

In some villages, when you kill this sacred animal hmmmmmm, you will bury it like a human being. In Some villages, this Eke normally comes out to welcome strangers in the land but will only hurt the evil ones.
In some villages, when a new baby is delivered, Eke will visit and lay beside the baby for Protection. Eke does not hurt, am talking from experience, you can play with it and also Carry it on your neck, they are friendly with good people.

Eke mmiri is very friendly, eke nwe ohia too.

Sometimes, oburu na mmadu tuo gi n’alusi ,Eke or Bee will appear in your compound to bring the message to you, then the next thing is to answer to the call after ka ijuchara ase.

Animals that are meant to be sacred are not meant to be killed, it’s a curse upon curse for the coming generation.

Look at how our land is dried, hardship everywhere, hunger and sufferings. You people think that Ajaala will not rise against the wicked ones?
Lol, no this is the “INJURY TIME” everyone should be careful, untimely death everywhere, unu anakwa aju ase?

Health / Suspected Food Poison Kills Over 20 Traditional Marriage Guests In Imo (graphic) by ngoziclara: 5:57pm On Jun 10, 2019
Over 20 guests who came for a traditional wedding that held on Sunday, June 9th have been feared dead, while over 15 are still battling for their lives. The tragedy which occurred in Umuobajiaku, Umuomumu Mbieri, Mbaitoli Local government of Imo state have left many shocked.

Early reports from eyewitnesses said it might have been caused by the fumes from the generator set which they kept at the kitchen.

However, many suspect food poison is responsible for the incident which has taken the lives of the guests who are from Imo, Anambra and other places.

Reports Expressiveinfo gathered from eyewitness reveal that 30 to 40 people slept in the building. Unfortunately, everyone who slept in that house last night after the traditional wedding could not tell what really happen, except one woman and her child who could talk. Everyone else is either dead or battling to live.

Due to the overwhelming crowd, security personnel took the woman away. So, not much information came from her. We hope she would be able to explain what really happened.

Police and some members of the community assisted in rushing the ones still battling to survive to the nearest hospitals.

Hopefully, the police will give an official statement regarding the incident later. Until the official statement comes, we are not able to get the actual number of persons that are dead and those that are still alive.

Eyewitness, however confirmed that between 30 to 40 persons had passed the night in the ground floor of the uncompleted two-storey building.

Politics / Imo Councillors:hon Oscar Didn’t Die Of Tear Gas From Ihedioha Hijacked Protest by ngoziclara: 9:23pm On Jun 09, 2019
Today, June 9th, the Imo State Councillors Forum was saddened with the news of the death of their colleague, Hon Oscar.

Hon Oscar was the councilor representing Umudioka Owerri in Orlu Local Government Area of Imo State.

Unfortunately, immediately after the breaking of the sad news, fake news carriers and enemies of the state took it upon themselves to politicize with the death of the councillor.

It went as far as appearing on Nairaland and some blogs that the councillor had “died some days later after receiving the spray of tear gas by the police on the Chairmen and councilors when they went for peaceful protest against the illegal suspension of the local government elected officers by the out going house of Assembly members.”

In a telephone call put across to three councillors who were close to the deceased, Expressiveinfo got the exclusive information that the late councilman was not tear gassed and was never part of any protest. It was disclosed that Late Hon Oscar had been very sick, battling with an undisclosed ailment for some time now.

One of the Councillors was very displeased that the news of Hon Oscar’s death has been taken as a political tool to cause a rift between the governor and the councillors, as well as misinform the public and cause even more trauma to the immediate family.

Politics / Distasteful Photos Of Imo Deputy Governor’s Lodge Released by ngoziclara: 12:28pm On Jun 09, 2019
The Deputy Governor of Imo State, Gerald Irona led a team of government officials on Friday, 7th of June to inspect the ‘Deputy Governor’s Lodge’ at Commissioners Quarters, Owerri.

Expressiveinfo has gathered the distasteful photos of the interior and exterior sections of the lodge released by the government media team after the facility tour.

Recall that we shared the embarrassing photos that were released after Governor Ihedioha inspected the Imo Government House his predecessor, Rochas Okorocha left behind. Rumours have been going round since then that those photos were released because of a supposed plan by the governor to set aside 5 billion Naira to renovate the governor’s lodge.

Regarding the ‘Deputy Governor’s Lodge’, you have to recall that the former deputy governor, Eze Madumere has been at a loggerhead with former governor Rochas Okorocha shortly before the APC primary elections which held in October, 2018 due to Okorocha’s preferred choice of a successor.
Worthy of note is that former deputy governor Madumere stopped living at the official lodge since the conflict with his former boss started last year and the lodge had been unoccupied ever since.

Find below photos that emerged following the inspection on Friday by Deputy Governor Irona and his team.

Politics / IMSU Student Narrates How Okorocha’s Free Education Is False, Argument Followed by ngoziclara: 3:31pm On Jun 06, 2019
Please follow this conversation from a group chat as seen below. For the purpose of Privacy, the names and phone numbers of the speakers are blurred.

However, this conversation captures what Imo Youths (Students and non-students) feel about the Free Education Policy of the Okorocha’s administration, especially as it concerns the tertiary institutions.

Be patient and follow the conversation till the end. A student of Medicine from Imo State University (IMSU) wrote below.

“Education has never been free in Imo State.
I am a student of Imo State University. I gained admission in 2016. When I gained admission, I paid ₦70,600 acceptance fee. We were over 350 students in 100 level, only for the number to drop to less than 300 in our second year, reason being that many couldn’t afford to pay the acceptance fee. How then is there free education in Imo State? Before Okorocha, acceptance fee was ₦19,500.

“As a student in Imo State University, in a semester, I spend close to 30k, sometimes up to that, on textbooks alone because of the exorbitant prices of the books (which weren’t so costly in the past). How then is education free in Imo State?

“In the same Imo State University, we pay school fees of twenty something thousand as indigenes, we also pay faculty and departmental dues. Even bursars come to check school fee receipts in the exam hall, and they stop those owing from writing. How then is education in Imo State free? How can there be free education yet students are paying school fees? Now the school fees have been increased to ₦31,000. But education is free isn’t it? butress

“It is a misnomer to say that education is free in Imo State. Except the word “free” has changed from its original meaning that I know, education is not, and has never been free in Imo State. Whoever says that is either lying or ignorant of the meaning of the word “free.”

“About the quality of education here, I would say the quality of education in Imo State is light years below standard. A visit to Imo State University and our primary and secondary schools would explain what I mean better. We lack infrastructure, no good classrooms, no conducive learning environment, no good learning facilities and the environment is very dirty too. How about the libraries? – Not well equipped. How then can you be talking about quality in the absence of all of these?

“Please, let’s tell ourselves the truth here. Education in Imo State under Rochas’ was never free, neither did it have quality. I know he shared school bags, shared money, and so on, that still doesn’t invalidate the fact that our education sector was a mess under him.“

Below are the arguments that followed:

Politics / Imo Governor' Lodge, Office: Another Side Of The Story by ngoziclara: 12:17pm On Jun 01, 2019
It’s obvious that the claims and counter claims from the aides of former governor Rochas Okorocha and aides of current governor Emeka Ihedioha regarding the true state of Imo State Government will not end anytime soon.

As both sides continue to furnish the public with pictures that are claimed to capture the state of the Imo state Government House.

New pictures of the Governor’s lodge have been released by Mr Onwuasoanya FCC Jones who was the Media Director of Uche Nwosu’s campaign organisation. Jones wrote below as he shared the photos.

Yesterday, the new governor of Imo State, His Excellency Rt Hon Emeka Ihedioha led a crowd of sycophants and court jesters to the People’s House, as the Imo State Government House is known. After the visit, several photos of the generator house and few other areas were published online and I am told that some media houses have been paid to publish the same pictures.

Now, let us contemplate the following facts and scenarios:

As at Tuesday May 28th, His Excellency Owelle Rochas Okorocha was still at the governor’s lodge and hosted meetings with associates and government partners in the Governor’s Lodge which has been variously described as the best Governor’s Lodge in the country by top ranking officials of government across Nigeria.
Among the last guests at the Imo State Governor’s Lodge before Owelle vacated the place are: Vice-President, Professor Yemi Osibanjo, Sultan of Sokoto, Oni of Ife, Pastor Lazarus Muoka of Lord Chosen Church and several other high ranking personalities. These individuals couldn’t have been hosted in a Governor’s Lodge like the one Emeka Ihedioha is showing the world in pictures.
If Owelle Rochas Okorocha had anything to hide, he would not have extended an invitation to Emeka Ihedioha to visit the People’s House many weeks before the proper handover.
Even in criminal investigations, a suspect’s apartment is not searched in his absence. Ihedioha’s decision to invade the Government House two clear days after he had taken over the reins of power and when his men had taken over the Government House is suspicious. I hereby accuse Ihedioha of being responsible for looting whatever may have been looted from the Government House.
If this visit to the Government House had been done as soon as Ihedioha’s swearing in was over on the 29th of May, there would have been few lines of credibility in his claims.
Governor Okorocha invited the then governor-elect, Emeka Ihedioha for a tour of the Government House which the latter declined, obviously with mischievous intents. You cannot shave a man in his absence.
It bears repeating that the Imo State Government House, especially the Governor’s Lodge and Office are among the best edifices in any Government House in Nigeria, at present. Ihedioha has more than 48 billion Naira to play with and another 30 billion Naira or so coming or already in the accounts of Imo State Government as Paris Debt Refund. So, it is understandable that he is looking for excuses to either spend or steal these monies.
Attached to this post are pictures of the Imo State Governor’s Lodge as at 28th May, 2019 when it was handed over to Emeka Ihedioha.

Politics / Another Destruction Ordered By Ihedioha In Owerri by ngoziclara: 12:08pm On May 31, 2019
This photo surfaced this morning following the controversial demolition of Akachi Tower in Owerri which is still trending.

In the photo, you can see one of the beautification artificial palm trees in the city of Owerri being set on fire.

Governor Ihedioha has denied ordering the demolition of the Akachi Tower. However, it is therefore important that the government of Imo State puts a quick measure to check the excesses of overzealous people who might be taking advantage of certain space to destroy the public property of the state.

Governor Emeka Ihedioha has to bear in mind that whatever happens in Imo now, will easily have his name labelled on it.

Politics / Uche Nwosu’s Aide Lectures Governor Ihedioha On Free Healthcare Plan by ngoziclara: 3:11pm On May 30, 2019
From the day one becomes a public servant, especially a governor, the window of criticisms opens. Every public servant knows that and has to be ready to accept, analyse, learn and put to good use salient critiques.

For Governor Emeka Ihedioha who was sworn in yesterday as the 6th Governor of Imo state, Mr Onwuasoanya FCC Jones have welcomed him with what might be the first critique after listening to the one-hour Inauguration speech.

Mr Onwuasoanya, the Media Director of Ugwumba Uche Nwosu Campaign Organisation writes below:

One of the key things promised by the Imo State governor, His Excellency Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha is free healthcare to pregnant women, children from 0-5 years and senior citizens from 70 years and above. This program, no matter how anyone looks at it is commendable and must be promoted, as it is highly humanistic. Those citizens within that age bracket deserve government’s attention more than any other class of citizens, especially, in the area of healthcare. Prayerfully, we shall no longer see a situation where hospitals detain nursing mothers and their babies, because of their inabilities to offset their hospital bills.

However, the governor, like in other cases, did not set out a plan on how this will work. Who are to benefit from this policy? Will it be for everyone within this category or specifically for Imo citizens? Will it be in government owned hospitals or any hospital at all in Imo State? If it is going to be for Imo indigenes only, how does the new governor intend to identify those mothers, babies and the elderly who are truly from Imo State?

The governor also declared that this policy will take off immediately. It he is serious about this, it therefore means that he lied against his predecessor, by claiming that Owelle Rochas Okorocha destroyed the Imo health sector. Are these vulnerable class of citizens going to receive medical attention in dilapidated or completely destroyed health facilities in the State?
Unlike when the immediate past governor declared the free education policy, he outlined the details for its implementation. For instance, Owelle made it clear from onset that he was to fund the free education policy, primarily by relinquishing his security votes and asking civil servants and government appointees to donate at least one percent of their earnings to fund the free education policy. Owelle also employed new teachers, built over 1,000 new classroom blocks across the State, and was among the first governor in Nigeria to implement the Teachers Salary Scale (TSS). He also made it clear that while the free education from primary to Secondary School is open to all those who live in Imo State, no matter where they are coming from, the free education at tertiary education level is only open to Imo indigenes. Undergraduates we’re therefore required to get letters of introduction from their traditional rulers in order to access the 100,000 Naira they were paid by the State Government.

Governor Ihedioha’s free healthcare promise does not contain these details, meaning that he either does not mean to implement it, or he is not the seasoned administrator his promoters would want us to take him as. You cannot on one breath tell us that our health sector has been destroyed and on another breath tell our pregnant mothers, our newborns and senior citizens to go to the same hospitals and access free healthcare. It is either you retract your obvious lie about the healthcare sector in Imo State, not functioning or you give us a dateline within which you would have resuscitated the health care sector, before this class of people can access the free healthcare.

“My commissioners, my expanded excos, I salute you. Today, nature has permitted that we must shut down “.

“Let me announce to my political enemies to stop. This is because they have no justifiable reason to fight me. Let no one fight me, and I will not fight anybody”.
” As I bow out today, am leaving the total sum of 42.5 Billion naira for the incoming government. 8.1 plus another 7.6 Billion naira totalling 15.7 Billion naira is in Zenith bank. 5.2 Billion naira is in Access Bank for payment of pensioners. Another 21.6 Billion naira is in First bank meant for rural roads. Just yesterday, we received a tax refund of 5.6 and it’s with Zenith. This therefore bring the total money left for the government to 48.1 Billion naira”.

Politics / Only 3 Days To Handover, Okorocha To Flag-off Almost 100 Projects On Monday by ngoziclara: 3:04pm On May 26, 2019
According to the press statement released by Imo State Government on Sunday, May 26th, the Out-going governor of Imo State, Rochas Okorocha will on Monday, May 27th flag-off over 100 RAMP and SUBEB Projects.

The statement signed by Mr Sam Onwuemeodo, the chief press secretary to the governor reveals that Governor Rochas Okorocha “will flag-off almost one hundred projects attracted under the Rural Access and Mobility Projects (RAMP) in the State.”

The time for the event has been set at 12noon.

It was also stated that “the contracts for the jobs have already been awarded and the Contractors paid. Governor Rochas Okorocha attracted all these projects. The Contractors have been paid for thorough execution of the Jobs.”

That is also the same case with the UBEC and IMSUBED Projects.

A warning was also issued to “some dubious elements who did not know anything about the projects” and “have begun to Claim Credit on the social media” for the projects.

For those who may be surprised that Governor Rochas Okorocha is still flagging off projects, he said it many times that his job as a governor will continue until the day he hands over. He said it many times that he would not be an out-going governor who would stop working once a successor emerges.

Politics / EFCC Investigation: Okorocha Responds To EFCC Chairman, Magu by ngoziclara: 4:09pm On May 21, 2019
The Government of Imo State has released a press statement signed by Mr
Sam Onwuemeodo, the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Rochas Okorocha in response to the comment made by Mr Ibrahim Magu, the Chairman of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFFC) that Governor Okorocha is under investigation by the commission.

Read the full statement below.

GOVERNMENT OF IMO STATE, PRESS RELEASE

SUBJECT: WE WON’T JOIN ISSUES WITH THE EFCC BOSS IBRAHIM MAGU SINCE THE COMMISSION IS STILL ON INVESTIGATION & HAS NOT MADE ANY ALLEGATION AGAINST THE GOVERNOR

-INDEED, ALHAJI MAGU IS DOING WELL AS THE HEAD OF THE COMMISSION

-BUT HIS ADDRESSING JOURNALISTS IN LONDON ON MONDAY, MAY 20, 2019 WITH GOVERNOR OKOROCHA BEING THE ISSUE AND TWO DAYS AFTER THE COMMISSION’S ZONAL HEAD FOR SOUTH-EAST MR. USMAN IMAM HAD SPOKEN ON THE SAME OKOROCHA, RAISES EYEBROWS.

On Monday, May 20, 2019, the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crime Commission, EFCC, Alhaji Ibrahim Magu was quoted to have told Journalists at a Press Conference in London that the Commission was investigating Governor Rochas Okorocha over the bailout fund.

Also on Friday, May 17, 2019 the Commission’s Zonal Head for South-East, Mr. Usman Imam held a Press Conference in Enugu where he told the world too that the Commission was investigating Governor Okorocha.

So, Mr. Imam holding his own Press Conference on Okorocha on Friday, May 17, 2019 in Enugu and the Chairman of the Commission himself Alhaji Magu holding his own press conference also on Okorocha, on Monday, May 20, 2019, and only two days after, raises genuine concern. And has also added fillip to the governor’s earlier worry that those behind the drama over his Certificate of Return have not gone to sleep but have continued to spread their dragnets or tentacles.

If you ask us, we won’t join issues with the EFCC as an Institution and with Alhaji Magu as an individual. Investigating individuals, governments, institutions etc, is part of the Commission’s own rules of engagement and nobody should prevent them or begrudge them for doing that. We only pray that the Commission should not allow undue infiltration.

Good enough, both Alhaji Magu and Mr. Imam never accused the governor of mismanagement or diversion, looking at the Contents of their Press Conferences. They confirmed that the Commission is in Custody of the money. Out of the N8billion they quoted, they also confirmed that N7.9billion is what they blocked. Then, what is Owelle’s case? And the governor is not owing salary.

Health / Mr Ibu Died And Woke Up After 4 Days by ngoziclara: 6:01pm On Apr 27, 2019
Nollywood comic actor, John Okafor popularly called Mr Ibu has made a shocking revelation of his near death experience in which medical and herbal doctors confirmed him dead for four days before he miraculously woke up.

The comic actor made headlines recently after it was reported that he was down with a stroke. Though Mr Ibu made a video to debunk the report. In responding to that he said:

“All the stories flying around; the issue of stroke among others are funny to me. This is because the original problem I had was on the 24th of December last year. An Nnewi-based business mogul, Ebube Chukwu Uzo, had invited me to come and perform at his party.”
In the course of the attack by two unknown men dressed in white clothes, the actor said he became unconscious and later his body was lying on the floor of the hotel, where he was lodged for hours before he was confirmed dead by doctors at a near-by hospital in Nnewi.

He said that it was his PA who was with him when the incident which lasted between 24th December to 28th December 2018 happened.

Speaking further he said his boys refused to deposit his lifeless body in the morgue when the doctor told them to do so and instead took him to Enugu to a herbal doctor who also confirmed him dead.

Mr Ibu then added that while he was transitioned, a mysterious voice, which he believed must be a heavenly entity, spoke to him and told him to go back to the world. He immediately woke up in a hospital in Enugu, he finally said.

Politics / Incredible! IMSU Set To Use E-voting For Next SUG Election by ngoziclara: 8:56am On Apr 26, 2019
The wind of innovation blowing across higher institutions in Nigeria has also hit Imo State University (IMSU) following the introduction of Electronic Voting for their forthcoming Student’s Union Government election set to take place next semester.

Expressiveinfo can exclusively report that the Dean, Student’s Affairs of the Institution, Prof Martins Uchenna officially informed the students about the new innovation on Thursdays, April 25th during their 2nd Inaugural Students Assembly.

The Dean stated that the management would ensure that the exercise is not fraught with malpractices, stressing that the innovation would minimize the stress synonymous with the ballot method and assured the students of a free and fair exercise, noting that E-voting was the only alternative for the management to avert post-election acrimony.

Expressiveinfo gathered that the students embraced the innovation because of the violence that marred the two previous elections conducted last year that resulted in inconclusive elections.

Although the E-voting is a new initiative in the campus spearheaded by the Dean, a clear majority of he students were willing to take a bet with the E-voting system. Many students described the innovation as a “welcome development”, saying there would be no rancour and irregularities that usually attended manual voting.

The modalities of the election have not yet been confirmed but the rumour making rounds are that only students who have paid their ancillary fees and done their course registration online would be eligible to vote with a secret code that will be sent to them via text messages on the eve of the election to enable them log into the university website from any location and vote for the candidate of their choice.

Health / Heart Break Can Actually Kill A Person by ngoziclara: 1:41pm On Apr 23, 2019
At a time when we are confronted with frequent death and suicide reports as a result of broken hearts and relationships, it becomes pertinent to find out if truly, heart break can kill or cause the death of a person.

The answer, as you will eventually see, is YES. Heart break can actually kill or cause the death of someone.

Losing a loved one is a difficult experience which can cause immense shock, stress, and sorrow. And in many cases, the longer a couple has been together, the harder will be the impact of the loss.

In a study, researchers examined blood samples from nearly 100 individuals who had recently lost their spouse. The findings were published in the journal Psychoneuroendocrinology.

The findings from the study show that people who lose their loved ones are prone to grief – feeling that life is meaningless, being unable to move on, pining for excessively long periods, having a difficult time accepting the reality of the loss.

Once grief gets excessive, the person begins to experience depressive symptoms. At this point, suicide thoughts are eminent. The thought and feeling that life is meaningless without the lost loved one begins to constantly dominate the person’s mind.

If the person does not commit suicide at that point, but still in excess grief, the body begins to develop inflammation which can also kill the person.

Experts note that long-term inflammation is linked to many diseases, especially among older adults. These include heart disease, stroke, gut disorders, blood clots, Alzheimer’s disease, lupus, and rheumatoid arthritis.

“We also know that depression is linked to higher levels of inflammation, and those who lose a spouse are at considerably higher risk of major depression, heart attack, stroke, and premature mortality,” said lead author, Chris Fagundes, an assistant professor of psychological sciences at Rice University, Texas.

In a similar vein, researchers at Aarhus University in Denmark studied nearly one million Danish participants between 1995 and 2015 to find a link between heartbreak and death, and discovered that the risk of death was highest 8 to 14 days after the loss and then “gradually declined.”

They also found that if the partner left behind survives after 12 months, their risk decreases dramatically.

Apparently the likelihood of developing an irregular heartbeat (which could be fatal) was much higher after the loss of a partner, which is where the idea of dying from a broken heart actually comes from.

Politics / 25 Blunders Of Governor Rochas Okorocha by ngoziclara: 7:52pm On Apr 22, 2019
ONWUASOANYA FCC JONES

Governor Okorocha of Imo State will be completing his Constitutionally allowed two terms of eight years in about five weeks from now. Many writers and commentators have taken different lines in reviewing his performance in these eight years.

The governor, as the most talked about politician in Nigeria today has expectedly gotten more reviews than any outgoing or re-elected governor. For the purpose of succinctness, I will outline just 25 out of over 1000 blunders of the governor, that have earned him as much hatred from retards as he is loved by progressives. This is Easter, and I will not lie. Before God, all I have put here are true and verifiable:

1) For twelve years of PDP’s reign in Imo State, there was not a single government built hospital in Imo State, except the Imo State University Teaching Hospital completed by Udenwa. Governor Okorocha in eight years built about 30 new Specialist Hospitals, including a world class Ochiedike Diagnostic and Dialysis Center and a Cancer Palliative Care Center.

2) As at 2010 when Governor Okorocha campaigned for the governorship of the State on the promise of free and qualitative education, every single soul in the PDP today dismissed him as a liar and openly told the world that free education was impossible anywhere in the world.

3) Governor Okorocha did not only implement the free education policy as he earlier promised in Primary and Secondary Schools, but also went a step further to implement same in universities, making Imo the first and only State in the Federation to implement a free education policy. Even Federal Government owned tertiary institutions pay school fees till date.

4) Governor Okorocha employed over 30,000 new civil servants in Imo State without asking anyone of them to pay a dime as application fee or sorting money before they could get the jobs. During Ohakim, the less than 1500 original beneficiaries of the 10,000 jobs fraud paid application fee and a number of them were said to have paid bribe to some top government officials at the time in order to get the jobs. Till date, even Federal government jobs are mostly paid for.

5) Governor Okorocha created over 200,000 jobs through the private sector, by making Imo conducive for private sector investments.
Governor Okorocha opened up huge opportunities in the real estate sector, thereby creating a slew of jobs and wealth making opportunities for the youths. Data has it that more than 10,000 new buildings have sprung up in the last eight years, in the Owerri capital city alone. Imo State has also been rated as the biggest building materials market in Nigeria and the fastest developing State in Nigeria after Lagos and Abuja.

6) Governor Okorocha has given youths more opportunities in government than any other governor before him or any other governor in Nigeria.

7) Governor Okorocha’s administration has built over 1000 new classroom blocks in the last eight years.

cool Governor Okorocha built 12 new tertiary institutions in the State and upgraded Imo State University, which was the only State owned university to a higher standard.

9) Governor Okorocha employed more than 2,000 teaching and non-teaching staff in Imo State University and became the first and only governor in the history of the State to initiate and complete any structure in that university.

10) Governor Okorocha established the new Imo City Schools, Imo Girls’ College and Imo Boys’ College in Owerri.

11) Governor Okorocha is the first governor of Imo State since 1999 to create brand new roads. More than forty brand new roads were created across Imo State within the last eight years. These roads include; the 1st to 5th Inland roads, the new Jacob Zuma Road and several others.

12) Governor Okorocha built the first road tunnels in Imo State. These tunnels have gone a long way in decongesting traffic in Owerri and reducing the rate of traffic accident on the roads of Owerri.

13) Governor Okorocha completed the first ever flyovers in Imo State. The Okigwe road and Orlu road flyovers are indelible legacies of the Rescue Mission administration under Owelle Rochas Okorocha.

14) Governor Okorocha created new sets of millionaires and power brokers in Imo State, mostly from among youths who did not have wealthy backgrounds, but are capable and competent.

15) Governor Okorocha allowed press freedom, the way it has never been experienced before in Imo politics. Governor Okorocha is the most insulted governor in the country, yet, he is the most friendly with his critics.

Politics / Rivers Polls: INEC Presented Certificate Of Return Dated March 14, Not April 16 by ngoziclara: 1:33pm On Apr 18, 2019
A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers state, Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, has raised the alarm over an alleged fraud by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in the recently issued Certificate of Return to the Rivers state, Chief Nyesom Wike, and all the House of Assembly members-elect in the State.

Eze, in a statement issued and circulated in Port Harcourt on Thursday, alerted that the certificates issued to Wike and others had been issued and signed since the 14th of March, 2019, almost three weeks before the contentious Rivers state election was concluded, a fact affirming an earlier alarm raised on an alleged collusion between the INEC, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Chief Wike to rig the election in the governor’s favour.

"On 30th March, 2019, I issued a statement titled, "Rivers Poll: Eze Accuses INEC Of printing Gov. Wike’s Certificate Of Return In Advance" and on the same date INEC issued their own statement titled, "INEC Denies Fake Certificate of Returns in Rivers"
Eze had raised an alarm to the effect in a statement issued on March 30, alleging that the INEC had already printed Certificates of Return in favour of the governor, even while the election was yet to be concluded, as it had been suspended in a curious circumstance midway, a development that most stakeholders in the state had frowned at.

However, the electoral umpire had denied the allegation, saying rather that it would go after whoever is found with a fake Certificate of Return, vowing to prosecute such persons.
