Key deliverable: Grow the Medessy Enterprises logistics business, cutting across corporate and
retail car leasing, haulage, warehousing, e-commerce deliveries, etc.

• Develop and drive a business development strategy

Qualifications and Competencies
• A bachelor’s degree from a higher institution. An MBA is an added advantage.
• Business professional with a minimum of 5 years’ work experience in a similar role.
• Excellent relationship manager with organisational and leadership skills
• Confidence in undertaking presentations to a large number of people
• Analytical skills to review both financial and operational data with a good understanding
of financial planning
• Proven Negotiation Skills combined with the ability to close business wins

JOB PURPOSE

We are recruiting to fill the position of a tracking Officer to monitor, track, and report the real-time movement of company vehicles and assets, ensuring operational efficiency, route compliance, safety, and prompt response to any irregularities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Monitor all company vehicles in real time using GPS tracking systems
Ensure strict adherence to approved routes, schedules, and operational guidelines
Identify and report route deviations, unauthorized stops, or suspicious activities promptly
Maintain continuous communication with drivers to confirm trip status and provide support when required
Generate and submit daily, weekly, and monthly tracking and performance reports
Escalate emergencies such as accidents, breakdowns, or security threats in line with company procedures
Maintain accurate records of vehicle movement, trip history, and incidents
Collaborate with operations and dispatch teams to improve route planning and fleet efficiency
Ensure all tracking devices are functional; report faults and follow up on repairs or replacements
Support recovery efforts in cases of vehicle theft or loss
Enforce compliance with company policies on fleet usage and safety standards

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Operate articulated and semi-trailer trucks safely on local, regional, and long-haul routes in line with regulatory and company standards
Perform comprehensive pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections; promptly report and document all defects
Ensure proper loading, securing, and unloading of cargo in compliance with safety and handling procedures
Maintain accurate and up-to-date driver logs, delivery records, and statutory compliance documentation (e.g., tachograph records)
Adhere strictly to approved driving hours, rest periods, and fatigue management policies

Logistics Officer

Reports To – Client Manager
Location – Ajao Estate & Environs, Lagos State

Key deliverable:
The Logistics Officer is responsible for planning and coordinating all on – site operational activities on behalf of the organization, including managing daily route planning as well as vehicle uptime and turn – around times. To develop processes that will maximize safety, quality, driver motivation, asset availability & utilization, as well as minimize cost.

Responsibilities and Duties:
• Daily inspection of all vehicles within your jurisdiction using a checklist for cleanliness and road worthiness with daily reports sent to line manager(s)
• Ensure all drivers are aware of expiry dates of all vehicle documentation and road levy’s and that they take ownership for keeping these documents current.
• Ensure fuel issued is duly accounted for and utilized appropriately.
• Timely issuance and retrieval of client log sheets every month end for invoicing.
• Journey management for all vehicles
• Track daily availability and report to Client Manager for appropriate action.
• Reconcile availability with the client representative.
• Maintain a minimum availability of 90%.
• Responsible for supervising and accounting for inventory of parts replacement
• Communicating effectively with drivers and responding to their requests where necessary.
• Identify and recommend qualified drivers to Human Resources for evaluation and possible recruitment to meet needs of the operations department
• Assist in developing appropriate metrics to gauge performance of the drivers
• Assist with personnel and organizational issues as concerns all drivers
• Evaluate and implement processes to continuously improve driver behaviour
• Report and oversee maintenance activities when required.
• Scheduling routine maintenance activities for every vehicle within jurisdiction to ensure breakdown is minimized and uptime is maximized.
• Keep line manager always informed by ensuring all relevant information is duly and clearly communicated.
Required Qualification & Experience:
• Minimum qualification - Diploma from a reputable institution in Nigeria.
• Proficiency using a computer
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a fleet supervisor role.
