Protesters have regrouped in Tudun Ward of Nassarawa Local Government Area of Kano State despite the 24-hour curfew imposed by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf.
The governor had relaxed the curfew for five hours to enable Muslim faithful to observe Jumaat.
But scores of youth regrouped on the bridge demarcating Tudun Murtala and Tudun Wada wards to protest hardship in the country.
Many of them wielded placards while others sang and clapped as they marched on.
Out reporter on the spot reports that a young man addressed the gathering before they hit the street.
Despite 24-hour curfew imposed by Jigawa state government, hundreds of youths have returned to the streets in parts of Dutse, capital of the state.
The government had declared curfew after widespread violence and destruction on the first day of the nationwide exercise.
Currently, security agencies are battling with the protesters around Zai area of the city.
According to one of the residents of Zai quarters, the operatives are struggling to prevent the youths from mounting roadblocks but the youths are fighting back.
“They have refused to beat retreat despite the teargas thrown at them by the security personnel,” the resident who craved anonymity said.
At Shuwarin, an outskirt of Dutse, youths have regrouped and continued with demonstration for the second day.
The protesters are attempting to get into the main parts of the state capital but are being restricted by security operatives.
An eye witness in Shuwarin said tens of youths, including under-aged boys, have been arrested by the police.
In Gumel town, the situation was relatively calm as security operatives blocked all major roads to prevent the protesters from regrouping.
Attempts to get update on the situation in places like Hadeji, Birnin Kudu-, Jahun, and Kazaure proved abortive as the Communication network was terribly bad at the time of filing this report.
#Endbadgovernance protesters have begun to march into the Lagos State Governor’s Office in Alausa despite court orders restricting them to Ketu and Ojota parks, causing gridlock on the roads.
Some of the protesters marched from Ikeja Underbridge as they chose to move to the state government office on Thursday morning.
One of the protesters insisted on going to Alausa rather than the police’s Ojota suggestion.
“The police want to force us to Ojota, Ojota is for Tinubu’s boys. We want to march from here to Governor’s Office,” he told FIJ.
There were barriers on the way to the governor’s office. FIJ saw that the road leading to the governor’s office was blocked by barricades in preparation for protesters.
As seen on EiE’s website, the protesters are to converge on specific locations in Lagos, Oyo, Bauchi, Rivers, Abuja, Plateau, Bayelsa, Akwa Ibom and Edo states between 9 am and 6 pm to express their demands to the Federal Government.
The Government Secretariat in Alausa is the listed location for the protests in Lagos, but more protesters have appeared in other parts of the state.
Nigerians are protesting between August 1 and August 10 against economic hardship and bad governance, the nationwide protests coming after months of higher electricity tariffs, costly petrol and food inflation.
MadeInTokyo: I am still waiting for any Tinubu zombie to bet 3 million naira with me, Atiku will win Kastina state by over 55%. winning margin of total votes cast.
It's already too late for Tinubu. He's completely dead in the North
Jnkay: Tinubu thinks that money is everything. He thinks he can influence all Nigerians with Lagos state stolen tax money to vote him. He is rejected every where even in his home town.
Let him spend o. People will collect and still vote their choice.
I've listened to the speeches by Atiku, Shettima, & Peter Obi at the NBA conference. Peter Obi labelled Nigeria as a failed state. Atiku offered his plan & pointed out his experience. Shettima lauded Tinubu's record but didn't address his current condition. For me, Atiku won.
KINGofHELL: Femisplash's outburst came after SATANICALLY666 and Ngsultan exposed supporters of Tinubu's plans on WhatsApp and Twitter to attack supporters of Peter Obi in Lagos.
That's what those urchins are good at. Threatening and attacking their opponents. Terrorists!
A 17-year-old boy in Kano State, Isah Auwal-Barde, has invented a robot that works with a robotic exoskeleton remote control.
Exoskeleton remote control is a system of controlling a robot by the person operating it through demonstration with parts of his body.
Master Auwal-Barde on Saturday said he grew up with a passion for creativity.
He graduated from Government Secondary School (GSS), Sabuwar-Kofa, Kano, in 2021 and obtained seven credits in science subjects in the West African Examination Council (WAEC).
“It took me two years to invent the robot using local materials like DC motors, copper wires, pipes, corrugated cardboard as well as metal, among others, and the robot works with electricity. I want to be a robotics engineer so that I can be producing robots that can be used in addressing security challenges bedevilling the country,” said the teenager.
Master Auwal-Barde praised his father for supporting his project.
“Now, I want to get a scholarship to further my education abroad to fulfil my dream of becoming a robotics engineer,” he said.
The teenager further stated that his prowess in robotics engineering attracted a delegation from the National Centre for Artificial Intelligence and Robotics (NCAIR) to visit him.
According to him, the delegation promised to secure admission for him to one of the indigenous universities to study computer engineering.
“I have been giving him words of encouragement and telling him that he will become a robotics engineer in future,” said his father. “And whenever our electricity or electronics had faults, he was the one to repair them.”
A WhatsApp group, where some evil supporters of Tinubu converge on to cook up their nefarious schemes has identified names of people on various social media platforms to be frustrated or outright banned.
Targeting Nairaland, the group members bragged about having 'an eye' in the moderation department. They complained bitterly about 'Igbos taking over Ọmọlúàbí's forum' and 'frustrating BATists'. They deliberated at length on how best to 'silence' the opposition and came up with the following:
1. That certain Nairalanders be targeted and banned repeatedly until they get frustrated and 'quit'.
2. That threads capable of dampening the morals of their supporters should be locked or at best ignored at the 'back page'. While on this point, a member asked 'what if an idiot like APCNGN creates a thread asking other mods to feature it on front page?' They deliberated and concluded on point 3.
3. That headlines capable of dampening the morals of supporters should be changed. Example, if the title reads 'Northern Imams or Imams from the North', it should be edited to just 'Islamic clerics'. In short, any title that has 'North' with a damaging effect be changed to something 'obscure'.
4. That members monitor trends. When there are pieces of news that are damning to Asiwaju's ambition, members must act immediately with their alternate accounts. Create a fake version, share it. When unsuspecting opponents fall for it and begin resharing/retweeting, debunk it and get the opponents' accounts banned for 'spreading false information' while the genuine information be 'discarded'
5. That members should create 'Hausa' monikers and use them to support Asiwaju.
6. That members should create fake news on Twitter, share on Nairaland and moved to front page. 'If it's debunked, fine, nothing spoil. If it's not, great, all good!'
7. That fake news be created and ascribed to Obi. Then debunk it later using 'fact check'
8. That Nairalanders that are 'a pain in the arse' be targeted and frustrated out before campaign. Some of the Nairalanders targeted are:
Another platform they targeted is Twitter, but the plan is different. They're still deliberating on how best to silence tweeters like @firstladyship, @Chude_, @UchePOkoye, etc.
If your moniker is mentioned here, you should start walking on eggshells to avoid being targeted.
SmartPolician: Atiku Abubukar is the favourite to win this election because of his popularity, financial strength and party structure. Although his former boss called him a lot of unprintable names, he has national appeal.
I have noticed that those who promote Tinubu are mostly Yorubas. You rarely see ordinary Nigerians from other tribes promoting his candidature. Like I always say, the winner of this election is someone who can win votes outside his region.
Lastly, Peter Obi has the least prospect of winning this election because he is new and running on a party without a structure. However, he has has high future prospects because he represents a paradigm shift from the old way of doing things. Yes, I will vote for him as a way of supporting him.
