Hello everyone. I just got a Strong Decoder for the first time yesterday. 4663x. I am new to all this Decoder manipulations. Currently, I have only DSTV setting and DSTV channels on it. I was wondering if there was a way to get free-to-air channels that show good movies,series, news, cartoons and sports (if possible Premier League). I currently experience only the DSTV free-to-air like CCTV-N and NHK. Also how can I get all those MBC channels free-to-air. Do I have to change settings? I hope I dont have to buy any extra equipment or card. I look forward to your replies. Thanks and regards.

I like your mature way of answering questions, quite tactful even when your are nt sure, i commend u once again.

i 'll like to inform u that its possible to have a difference of upto 16.5 degrees on 90cm & upto 42 degrees on 180cm dish. it depends on the EIRP( in dBW) value of the beam in your location(naija).

E.g Viasat 1 on nss7 has EIRP of upto 44dBW while CNN on same c-band has EIRP of 39 dBW, this means it will be easier to track nss7 c-band using viasat 1 freq than cnn on the same sat.

Another e.g, W6 has EIRP of 42dBW but cant be tracked as off set on 180cm with nilesat as primary while EW4 freqs with EIRP of upto 47-48dBW

can be tracked even though its 42degrees away from the primary lnb unlike W6 which is just 22.5degrees away.

In Summary, once a sat beam has an EIRP of upto 42dBW & above in naija, its possible to get it on 90cm E.g Eurobird 2 @25.5E (Has 2 FTA Channels - CNN & MTV Arabia).

you gonna have to put your elevation into consideration. First, if you elevate to W6 then you should know you are 15 degrees away from 36e which will not enable you to lock on w4.
My advice is, choose a closer birds to nail. e.g astra2b and badr5 (26e and 28e). Etc.
Hope that help. And you can come up with your idea. IN FTA we experiments.

I've done d installation 4 2 pple d 1st was with strong lnb wich i hit 63% on multi tv & infinity tv y d second, was with hitv lnb wich hit 76% on multitv y 64% on infinity tv.my advise 2 u al is track wit oda lnb  exclude strong lnb as your offset.bt u can use strong lnb as your primary lnb (eutelsat w4) FTA 4 LIFE

True talk indeed. I actually use a Hi rubbish Lnb as my offset.(Astra).

You don't have to touch or move the dish again! All you'll need to do is take the new lnb you've just connected and move it downward at 8.0.clock skew on the tri pod and watch the screen as you move it, signal should pop up. Then tie the lnb wherever you hit green. Then you can tweak for maximum signal strenght you can achieve fom 75% for multitv 12552v 19531sr and 80% for Infinity package 12543H 20800sr. Then you are good to go.

About your setup, I think the problem you are having is maybe you are tracking with old GTV frequency 12572v 2854sr, which they are no longer on again, they have moved to multitv package and now on the same frequency with joytv 12552v 19531sr.
Also Follow the instructions above and let see whats hitting.

If 36east is pry,normally 28east shud b above(higher) on difrent dish,
but frm wat im seeing here, if my 36east if prime(up), my 28east (offset) will b below of d lnb holda, abi ?.

yes bro. i could.nt believe it when i first hit green locking on astra on the offset. I was tracking up above the primary lnb and finally hit green below it. So it is the perfect way of combining both two bird on a 65cm.

Try checking my set up pics, check the second lnb skew its at something 8-0 to 8-30 O clock.
tweak the lnb using gtv tp u should hit green 50 to 56% then you are good to check other multitv tp,
use these tp's
12572 V GTV
12543 H Infinity
12552 V Multitv

@Akini09 try using these frequencies in tracking your w4 12438h 23425 FTA tp should hit 64% tweaking between 8.30 to 9.0 o clock. While
11747h 27500 dstv should be 80% then proceed to adding another lnbf for astra.(at 8'0 to 8'30 skew.) hope that help.

lets know if you are using a 2 in 1 lnb holder or the shoe lace setup. You can upload picture of your setup so as to know what went wrong in your setup.
I dey watch all tp on both bird With the shoe lace setup' so dont give up!

if still not able to get those tp after trying Segunfms instructions, then since you are using 65cm you should make 36e your primary lnb.(the one on lnb holder) and ensure you skew is at 8.30 to 9-o clock while facing the dish. Then those tp will pop up.

@miju a 2.4m solid dish will hit green on nile but u're on a safer side when u have a 3m. You can consult sammu.Enitan etc. You can also check the '' All about nilesat installation thread''

Good for us with 65,85,90cm. We can still combine lnb and if possible motorize the set up. The sky is the limit.

thanks man, you are a great man and what a clean installation you got there. We need more of your type on this our beloved forum. About the shoe lace,
I once met an elder on this forum that make uses of stick, broom, glass, and any material product on earth, in achieving maximum signal quality. Kudos to you oga Badaru. And many great people that started this forum back in 07. But laziness is taken over the forum this days. As a 9ja we ought to stand up and do something ourselves.

You don't look at stresses when you are a FTA hobbyst, all you'll look at is achieving a maximum signal quality of any bird. We learn,experiment,conclude and achieve in FTA. If you have seen people like Oga Badaru,Olofofo, et al working with 3m,4m dish hunting stubborn birds that are out of footprint and getting green results, then you'll know what its like doing something on your own.
And this whole idea is to combine two birds on a single 65cm dish. All for FTA lovers. Kudos to all FTA enthusiast.
