I disagree with getting a good location especially when ur intention is based on a small scale with very limited resources!
Firstly you need to consider the population in the location where u intend to own ur supermarket do an estimated survey and make sure the location is densly populated, secondly reachout to your customers with love and compasion discuss their worries and you will win their hearts in no time, give them some financial wavers and sometimes using your instinct grant credits u can afford!!! you need to do this if the location is competitive e.g 5 other supermarkets in same environment, Average income earners or low income earns environment, will also do you alot of good because rich people dont like patronising neighbourhood its belittling for them and they shop in bulk. so they rather visit mega plaza, shoprite, psalms etc.

Dear Nairalanders,

considering the argument and the last question about "where they get their products in bulk", I hope to not disturb if I reply in this post. My name is Antonio Tauri and I work for a private european import-export company. We have business relationship with various manufactures, from Europe as from Brazil, Us and Asia. If you are looking for european goods or products for your trading business, please feel free to contact me.

We will establish an office/show-room in Lagos in the next months and we would be pleased to be your business partner in the future.

We are also looking for nigerian business people that want to start a retail selling activity. Please feel free to contact me and send me your business request at my mail: antonio.tauri@yahoo.it

To everybody that can be interested to start to talk about business. Please feel free to contact me by mail, reporting your zone, your activity (start-up project or already existing trading activity) and your trading needs.
