After re-installing XP on my HP 530 it could produce sound again, it always give error msg: NO SOUND DEVICE detected!
I guess its the sound card driver but cant get it to download anywhere and I dont have the REcovery disk; PLS HELP!
And if my guess is wrong pls better solutions are welcomed.

Have been on that link several times, i still tried it after reading ur post; there is no sound card driver there guess its because of the huge size.

ofcourse there is a sound driver there

go to the audio section, there are two files there namely conexant driver (2mb) & a UAA driver (54mb)

the trick is to install the UAA first so that it makes your sound card recognized & then the conexant driver. that should work

but if u've installed xp service pack 3, then u'll need to read the following

its not a driver problem cos the drivers does not detect any sound device & no driver will unless the UAA is installed
